I read over on Sherdog that Bret Rogers has been released from EliteXC.

He made the mistake of pointing out how bad Kimbo really is.

I am a huge MMa fan. I liked Thompson, but was not really a big fan. Now I am. He really won my respect. He's not a very good fighter really, and still hasn't got a chin. But he went in there, and basically toyed with Kimbo until the "stoppage". Sure, Kimbo landed some shots, but JT had that fight. I won't cover all the points that were already covered above, but if I were JT's management, I would complain.

Coincidentally, for what it's worth, there are many people on Sherdog.com, included a few that were at the fight live, that say they saw Kimbo tap out.

One last thing; Immediately after the fight, Kimbo was on the front page of yahoo, basically being praised for his victory. When the backlash started though, there are now several articles showing that he is actually not the big thing "everyone" (who?) thought he was going to be.

I expect to see Bret Rogers in the UFC real soon. Just goes to show what a lame operation EliteXC is running when they probably just got rid of their best heavyweight fighter and Kimbo's biggest rival. The thing I like about the UFC and Dana White is that he usually lets his fighters speak their mind and is not slapping a muzzle on them all the time like the NFL and the NBA do.

Dave Herman is the best heavyweight prospect in Elite XC. He is undefeated and at 23 has a lot of time to develope. I agree though that Brett Rogers would have destroyed Kimbo and that is why they got rid of him. I am sure Kimbo's next opponent will be another washed up easy KO like Ken Shamrock.

Don't forget Affliction. Check out their July 19th fight card. Some of the best heavies in the game:

EliteXC is a pro-caste gravy train outfit meant to juice Bimbo Slice and the gorgeous Gina Carano for all their worth (via protecting them at all costs). The Slice fought indeed should have been stopped when he was pummeled on the mat with light but multiple unanswered punches. Also, I seriously question the stoppage in the Carano fight.

The punches may have been light, but those elbows weren't! That's when the fight should've been stopped. Slice was getting hammered to the side of the head and was not intelligently defending himself. And you could tell by the way he stumbled back to his corner at the end of the round that he was pretty hurt.
