Anyone else notice how puffy Briggs was during the fight? The guys neck muscles were bulging, chest and biceps were full of fluid ala James Toney. I believe huff and puff was on a bit of gear for the fight and hopefully it will be announced that he used before the fight and that he will be stripped.

If he juiced he'll get caught shortly. He looked in excellent condition for 268 pounds (just like a body builder) but he was gassed after 3 rounds and just coasted to the end.Edited by: Triad

Exactly my perspective. He was all huff and buff, but no cardio, as a boxer should have. Most body builders look great and are massive, but have no stamina for things like twelve round bouts. Hope the truth comes out...

As someone who's had to observe juiced athletes in track and field for over
20 years, I can tell you Briggs was juiced to the gills as they say. I will also
venture that if the politics are anything like track (and they have been worse
over the years) Briggs was either not really tested - or - positive results will
most likely be tossed out the window. There is little doubt James Toney was
bloated with 'roids in his last bout, just look at his arms. But there's no way
the powers that be will let him be a two time offender with so many white
champs and contenders running around.

I would hope that those in charge of the testing would be on the up and up, but with a Don King lurking in the vicinity you have to wonder.

I think steroids are more serious in boxing, because we're dealing with one on one combat.Any advantage your opponent has over you can have potentially lethal consequences. In baseball maybe you give up a homerun, or in track you lose a race. In boxing you can be taken out for good.

I suppose a juicer likes posing in the mirror, but I'll bet they can't look themselves in the eye.

No doubt Briggs was on some form of PED. I actually think the drugs he was on hindered his ability. He was gassed from the 2nd round on. I remember watching this fight with my brother and we both were shocked at how tired he was when he hit his stool at the end of 2nd round. I recall Vargas being on steroids when he fought Hoya in 03' he still got ko'd. Boxing is more of skill sport then track so it doesn't help as much as the pure physical sports. Funny but I don't think Briggs will lose any size, like most roiders he is in love with physique and has some form of psychological muscle narcissism. Edited by: white is right

Funny but on the undercard of Mayweather vs Baldomir this happened....Orlando Salido's reign as IBF Featherweight champ may be brief. Salido who defeated Robert Guererro on HBO's Mayweather undercard failed his post fight urinalysis according to Kieth Kizer executive director of the Nevada Atletic Commision. Salido tested positive for anabolic steroid "Nandrolone" Kizer said. Salido will be placed on temporay suspension at the next commision meeting and will be required to attend a diciplinary meeting....---Las Vegas Review Journal. Since the commisions get the test back within a few days it would be known whether Briggs failed a drug test by now. But that still doesn't mean he fought clean...

Ah, it's probably part of some fighter's routines. Do your road work, spend some time on the speed bag, take your steroids, get some work in with the heavy bag, get some rounds of sparring in, skip some rope, take your masking agent, dinner, a little TV, then hit the sack.

Bulking steroids tend to decrease endurnace. This is because the needed anti-estrogens while cycling suppress regular estrogen levels to below normal causing tiredness and lack of aerobic endurance. There was an article about this fact published in Muscular Development.Edited by: Alpha Male
