Anyone else here seen this movie? It's about a football player (black) who was falsely accused of rape (by a black girl) and spent six years in prison. It's relevant to Us (deliberate capitalization) on the issues of men's rights and civil liberties. It does a great job of showing why the police are not our friends without turning the cops into silly straw villains. The cops are simply the enforcers of a corrupt system, and most individual police officers probably sincerely think that they're doing "good." It also shows the complete uselessness of public defenders (if you're ever in trouble, get a real lawyer), the dangers of taking a plea "bargain," and the power of feminist privilege (the girl who made the false accusation was never punished).

The film mostly avoids politics, and aside from a single anti-white line spoken by a black female attorney, avoids anti-whiteness as well. Aside from that one line, an appearance by Wigger Pete (Carroll - yep, that guy) and a few annoying rap songs on the soundtrack, it was a good movie.

What I took away from it was this: Straight white men are at the bottom of the diversity hierarchy, and if the system could do this to a black guy, just think what it could (and has) done to Us.
