Since 2016 Wisconsin has started 14,12,12,12, 14 and this year it looks to be 15! 16 if you count Poly/White mix OLB Herbig. Another solid team for Wisconsin, should be in the hunt for a Big Ten Championship.

Love the makeup of this team every year. Jim Leonhard is certainly not afraid to recruit White athletes on defense!

Mertz had a great debut vs. Illinois last year but was inconsistent throughout the rest of the season. Hopefully he developed more this offseason.

Yes sir Leonhard has been a saving grace at DC! Turned down the Packers DC job too because he wants to win a Big Ten Championship!

Really is a lot of pressure on Mertz, being highest rated QB in program history will do that. Agreed though! This team goes as far as he can take them.

Shipper representing White walk ons, only surprised at the lack of "lunch buckets" but the rest of the story we have read a million times, and the one comment is DWF template approved.

Shipper is definitely benefitting from "Tom Iron Rule" at RB!

Yeah Bucky there is one Nick Saban and one Bama program but there are many attempts at copy catting those results without knowing that the TIR is always lurking. If in a world where I was a program manager there would always be a supply of white men on the roster even if they only occupied the lower rungs of the depth chart. Poor Toby Gebhardt he deserved better than being AP's incentive to actually learn how to hold onto the ball in big games but there he was used like a dopey missionary deep in the heart of Africa.

Wisconsin football finishes the season No. 1 in total defense at 239.1 ypg, No.1 in rushing defense at 64.8 ypg, No.3 in 3rd down percentage defense at .287, No.4 in scoring defense at 16.15, and No.5 in passing at 174.3 ypg. Another masterful job by Badgers DC Jim Leonhard.

Their defense year after year and decade after decade is outstanding! Now let's get the offense in motion going the same direction and they can play for some national championships. I remember watching Jim Leonhard as a player. They guy was so fast and could jump out of the gym. He could do any dunk in basketball that guys almost
a foot taller struggle to duplicate. He was one heck of a player and just as good of a Defensive Coordinator.

@white lightning Yessir! Leonhard rose to immediate fame in Wisconsin Football when he won the team's annual dunk contest, for team morale. At 5'8 165, pale and from a small town. The walk-on was throwing down with ease. The rest is History!

Excellent article detailing Colin Wilder's Path to the Draft as he prepares for his pro day. He has been working out daily with Freshman Walk-on Safety Owen Arnett (6'0 220). Keep an eye on him, he won't be without scholarship long.

Anyways Brad Arnett, Owen's father, has been training Wilder at NX Level in Waukesha,Wi. Supposedly he's already shaved 3% body fat! Should be yoked for his Pro Day.
