I agree. Lemaitre had one in a million, Bolt like talent. But he had weak character and coaching. Everything he did was on raw, natural talent which quickly fades. I'm still disappointed about him.

I think mentally he did push bolt to run as fast as he did. Knowing there was a white dude out there with the right coaches etc that could possibly have run as fast must have been more motivating to bolt than he would ever have let on, he certainly did not want to lose to a white guy.

I am worried about Del Ponte's sudden blistering times, she is a studdette for sure but those are huge increases quickly. Shoot me if I am out to lunch on this. I love the gal as she is everything a sprinter wants to be.

First off people act like Matthew Boling is done. The kid is just starting his career at 21 years of age and he will go sub 10 and sub 20 next summer 100%. I will
make a personal bet with any member here for 100 dollars that disagrees with my prediction. He will do both next summer. Any bets out there?

Second not only did Julian Wagner look good but also 25 years old Silvin Wicki ran a 10.08 in the same race. Not bad at all. Wish it was wind legal for both of them.

Third Lemaitre is a legend. Say what you want about Shirvington and Pickering but don't ever put Lemaitre or Guliyev into that category. Read how many medals
he son at the European Championships, World Championships and the Olympics. Add to that personal best time of 9.92 and 19.80! Stud in my eyes even if he
underacheived. Phil Anderson needs to stop bringing Lemaitre into the bust category. It's very disrespectful. Read his Wikipedia below.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christophe_Lemaitre

Lemaitre was a wonderful sprinter - remained rough in style but no-one can take his medals, honours and times away from him. If he chose to stay in a safe place, bully for him. So many detractors act like they're personally disappointed when they have no say in his life. No wonder he loathed the pressure that came with being tagged the next white hope.

Viva Pepe Le Flew was a quote that I started. Thank you mate. My friend of many years. Would love to meet some day and talk track and life for hours and hours. So glad
your still here. So many people are so hard on Lemaitre. He won countless medals. If he didn't exist maybe there would be no Guliyev, Gemili, Kilty, etc. etc. You get the point!
Lemaitre paved the way. Naysayers are so disrespectful. He will always be the first white to go sub 10 and sub 20 wind legal ever! To all the losers and haters out there we have
never seen another white sprinter on earth who ever came close. Ramil Guliyev is the only one to even approach the conversation. Lemaitre could have been better but regardless
is a legend forever. You cannot rewrite the history books. Long Live Pepe Le Flew!!!!! :)

Like in Hockey let's go for the hat trick with the man, the myth, the legend Christophe Lemaitre! So much respect for this sprinter no
matter what any critic or hater can ever say. He paved the way. What a legend. If only he was an alpha male we would have seen so much
more. For a shy introverted kid to acheive what he did is unbeliveable with the stress and pressure of running against all Alpha Male
Extroverts who are like Lions and they look down on everyone. This shy, quiet kid did what was almost impossible. :)

In the third video, his 200m race where he ran 19.80, he was only beaten by Dix and Bolt both suspected of using PED's. I think he always had the will to win. We will never know what held him back in progressing further unless he does a an interview/biography and tells the why.

Speaking of the 23 year old German Sprinter Julian Wagner. I already posted that he ran a slightly windy 10.00 flat a few days ago in Switzerland. What I didn't
know was that was his second race of the day. In the mens 100 meters heats Wagner ran a 10.21 into a negative 1.7 wind! So that is probably
equivalent to around a 10.10 I'm guessing or in that ball park. It's a shame that he was hurt for the Tokyo Olympics because that track is very fast and
he would have had a chance to make the semi finals or finals. Hope he can finish the summer off strong. One to keep a close eye on!

Ah, the infamous "safe space"! That's another reason blacks do better in sprinting and other sports - no safe spaces in the ghetto. Mookie and Shontavious on the corner ain't gonna cut you a break for your "mental health".

Lemaitre, like a lot of white kids, was probably a spoiled single child of parents who treated him like a little snowflake prince. When things got tough he wasn't even allowed to say "man up", let alone do it.

Here is the video. It looked like Wagner stumbled in the later stages of the race but what a performance. I hate the camera angle of the video though. Why
anyone ever films a race from the finish line has never made any sense. It's so hard to tell much about the race. Wagner looks excellent!

the world Under 20s are on in Nairobi.
The 100 finals are on today (Thursday) with an Italian and a Pole in the men's 100.
The women's 100 final will feature a Serbian, Czech, Slovakian and a Swiss -

Here's a link to the results of each event. For once a concise, easy-to-read page
https://www.worldathletics.org/competitions/world-athletics-u20-championships/nairobi21/timetable

I've been following the Polish Sprinter Oliwer Wdowik for a couple of years. Good to see him finally run a new p.b. of 10.37 in the semi finals of
the mens heats for the 100 meters. The Italian kid Matteo Melluzzo looks ever better with a 10.29 in his heat. It would be great if one of both ot
these fine young sprinters could medal or at least run another p.b. time in the finals. Good luck to both of them.

The women as you said as 4 of the 8 in the final. I must say they are as pretty as they are talented. We should hopefully see a couple of them on the
medal stand after the womens 100 meters finals. Hope I can watch both of these events live. :)

It'll be 12.30 and 12.50 am Saturday morning here in Sydney for those finals - I can wait till 6am or so

unless i’m mistaken, there’s an Argentine in the men’s 100m final, as well, making 3 of our guys in it. there’s also a mestizo from Nicaragua, who (while obviously not one of our team) is certainly a caste buster in his own right.

Sad sad for the young men. I think nerves got the best of both of this guys as they ran way slower than normal.

2021 mens world under 20 championships. Wind -0.2

Oliwer Wdowik 10.46 for 5th place and Matteo Melluzzo 10.49 for 6th place. Still happy they made the finals but the times
are so much slower than the times they are capable of.

Still hoping to see Filippo Tortu, Rohan Browning, Devin Quinn and a few other guys before the season ends.

I would really like to see the german sprinters Julian Wagner and Marvin Schulte again sometime soon.

here's an article (I think you'll particularly like it W/L) on Ashley Moloney after the Games.
He mentions Sally Pearson being generous with her assistance in his quest to hurdle better. Trouble was he didn't have time to perfect it so his new found speed over the hurdles brought him too close to the next.
Looking forward to this next season for him where he's going to specifically work on his 3 weaknesses - PV, 110H and Javelin.

What a phenom Moloney is! If anyone can break Kevin Mayers World Record it is without a doubt Ashley Moloney. I will follow him closely. So glad that he
won the first Mens Decathalon Olympic Medal in the history of Australia. It's a shame he couldn't hold on for silver.

In Bern, Switzerland we saw the return of Rohan Browning. He looked excellent again finishing a close 2nd running a time of 10.12! This has to be great
for his confidence as he ran this time with no wind in Europe after a few weeks of rest and relaxation. Browning has arrived as a world class sprinter. His
last 3 races all wind legal have been 10.01, 10.09 and 10.12! Now that is consistancy even after a very long season. So happy for him. Maybe if we are lucky he
will race one more time but he has the experience he needed overseas now to know that he belongs!

2021 Bern Switzerland

Mens 100 Meters Final Wind +0.2

1 Fall Mouhamadou France 10.08 MR

2 Rohan Browning Australia 10.12

3 Greene Cejhae Abtugua & Barbuda 10.13

4 Jeff William Reais Switzerland 10.22 PB

5 Ricky Petrucciani Switzerland 10.24 PB

6 Silvan Wicki Switzerland 10.25

7 Oliver Bromby Great Britain 10.34 SB

8 Marvin Schulte Germany 10.35

In the same track meet in Bern, Switzerland we had a polish 400 meter sprinter look very good finishing 2nd.

Kajetan Dusynski ran a new personal best time of 44.92! Great to see for Poland. It's been a long time since they had a
good mens 400 meter sprinter. Hopefully Kajetan can build on this as the season winds down and have alot of confidence
that now he can run in the high 44 second range now. Once you acheive something it's easier to do it again!
