Since 2006, Texas has started 7, 6, 8, 9, 8, 5, 6, 7, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, and 6. In 2020 they will start 5 all on offense.

Sam Ehlinger, Jake Smith, and Brenden Schooler are pretty much the only reason to watch a Longhorns game this year. Uber athletic OT Reese Moore will be one to watch in the next few years, but right now he is buried on the depth chart behind future 2021 1st round pick Sam Cosmi. Nothing to see here on defense, and no one waiting in the wings either.

Players to watch:
QB Hudson Card, WR Brenden Schooler, TE Jared Wiley, TE Brayden Liebrock, OT Reese Moore, LB Cort Jacquess, LB Luke Brockermeyer

OFFENSE
QB Sam Ehlinger (SR)
WR Jake Smith (SO)
TE Cade Brewer (SR)
LT Sam Cosmi (JR)
C Derek Kerstetter (SR)

DEFENSE
none

I hope Schooler and Jake Smith both to see the field quite a bit. If Herman was smart he would put Schooler back at DB. Texas has had one of the most overrated bad defenses over the past several years and none of it has to do with having too many white guys on the field.

Ehlinger is a stud - hopefully he doesn't get the Tebow treatment during the draft.

Jake Smith is a physical specimen. The kid will be a star before too long and every Longhorns Fan will know his name. I can see him playing on Sundays in another 3 years. He is that good. They just need to throw him the rock! :)

Sounds like Herman kissed and made up with his afflete. In all seriousness why would you allow a player who quit back on the team. Give me a break. Must be nice having that black privilege.

Texas junior S B.J. Foster, who reportedly quit during Saturday's game, is still a member of the football program according to HC Tom Herman.
Foster (6'2/210), a backup safety for the Longhorns, reportedly quit the team during the third quarter of Saturday's 59-3 win over UTEP. But the door wasn't closed regarding a return, with Herman saying during his press conference on Monday that the junior defensive back will "serve his penance" internally, and afterwards the episode will essentially be "water under the bridge." Texas doesn't play again until September 26 against Texas Tech, so there's time for Foster and Herman to get back on the same page.

Black Privilege! I had an afflete do the same to our middle school team, of course cuck coach let him back and that's where the entitlement begins .

Texas sophomore WR Jake Smith entered the transfer portal.
Smith (6'0/195) appeared in seven games last year, starting six and catching 25 passes for 274 yards and six touchdowns for the Longhorns. He unfortunately sustained a foot injury on literally the first day of spring practice, missing the following 15 practices and subsequent spring game. He was cleared to return in late-May but will now opt for a fresh start elsewhere in 2021. With the former four-star recruit's departure now imminent, slot receiver Jordan Whittington will pick up the slack and assume the starting inside wideout role in new HC Steve Sarkisian's offense.

If he is smart he will transfer to the University of Arizona. As bad as they have been the last several years he could start and make an impact from Day One. I believe he is from Arizona originally.

Let's hope Smith chooses wisely! Arizona wouldn't be bad, hell even Rice to teamup with McCaffrey.
