It's difficult to estimate how many white players will make the Packers 53-man roster, as I'm not sure who'll they keep as the reserve offensive lineman. I think it'll be 17 or 18 whites this year, the "highlights" of which include WR Jake Kumerow, FB Danny Vitale, and two white DT's...

QB - Rodgers
FB - Vitale
WR - Kumerow
TE - Tonyan, Sternberger
OL - Bakhtiari, Bulaga, Linsley, Light, Madison (Lucas Patrick could also make it)
DL - Lowry, Lancaster
OLB - Fackrell
MLB - Martinez
P/K/LS - Scott, Crosby, Bradley

If Kumerow, Vitale, and the two white TE's get in the mix, this would be one of the better teams to root for. Kumerow, in particular, appears to have all the makings of a future star. His style reminds me of Eric Decker...

Thanks Thrashen.

Heartening to see athletic FB/HB Vitale sticking around and the emergence of WR Kumerow.

Also important for Kyle Fackrell to build upon his break through season last year but I am not certain the Packers brass is all that interested in his development. They annoyingly added players who play his position. Cripes he was their main edge threat with double digit sacks last year.

If Kumerow becomes a steady presence and deep threat TE Sternberger makes waves I agree that the Pack would be worth rooting for.

One sore point. What is the status of rookie LB Ty Summers? Is he in the mix to make the roster or will he be looking in on the outside?

The health of black LB, Oren Burks (torn pectoral), will likely determine if Ty Summers makes the roster. If he starts on the PUP list, I think Summers could make the squad as a deep reserve / special teams LB.

As of right now, Oren Burks is out until mid November, thus, Ty Summers is the favorite to secure the number 2 spot unless the packers add someone off the street. Side note: the have been rumors circulating around that Deshon Kizer could get cut and the Packers adding a veteran back up QB

True, Tim Boyle is much better than Kizer.
Nowadays teams wasting too much picks on QB, too much upsides to digest I guess.

In the exhibition up in Winnipeg Boyle started the game and Kizer came in for the 2nd half, so I guess Boyle has the advantage, plus he did hit the open guys for 2 TDs Kizer on the other hand hit the turf.

Just saw the projected depth chart for the Packers on ESPN. They slated the starting two edge rushers as Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith. Za'Darius's numbers are decent enough to make him a fringe starter but placing Preston Smith ahead of Kyler Fackrell is insulting. Smith in 16 games last season was only able to tally FOUR sacks and five TFLs. Fackrell graded out as PFF's 15th best pass rusher and while only starting 7 games (as oppose to Smith's 16) recorded 10.5 sacks to go along with an impressive 29 TFLs. Does anyone know if this is indeed the case? Is Fackrell being demoted after a career year? Let me know!

Ourlads, which I find to be the most reliable source for depth charts, also has Fackrell as a backup. The new regime in Green Bay appears to be orthodox Caste. They've strung Jake Kumerow along for two years now (though he didn't help his cause with his silly, IR-resulting somersault into the endzone last preseason), we'll see how much Jake sees the field this season. If Fackrell keeps producing when he plays he may start at some point during the season. I agree that he clearly should be starting and it's pathetic to see his racial apprenticeship continue.

Kizer is continuing GB infatuation with shitty backup Black QBs over last few years. He needs to go the way Seneca Wallace, Vince Young, and Brett Hundley have all gone, away from Green Bay.

I knew Fackrell was going to be demoted as soon as Smith's were signed. The media unfairly looks at Fackrells career year as a fluke while the affletes they brought in posses that magical negro upside.

Really hoping this is the year Kumerow is unleashed but won't believe it until it happens.

I don't like this one bit. I thought, probably mistakenly, that this new Packers brass had redeemed themselves a bit by drafting LB Ty Summers and TE Jace Sternberger, both athletic players. Now I am having second thoughts which places me back to the first day of the draft where they drafted a Michigan LB who was all upside but underperformed on the field.

This brass couldn't wait to get rid of the heart and soul of the team Jordy Nelson, humiliatingly casting him aside like some beat up old shoe. Two years ago they drafted "upside" black receivers whose names one couldn't spell or pronounce. None of them could run a proper pass pattern to the dismay of QB Aaron Rodgers.

The big story for the Packers last season was the emergence of Kyler Fackrell yet the front office couldn't move fast enough to acquire edge defenders to replace him.

Who is to say Summers even makes the roster and if Sternberger gets utilized? And will WR Kumerow be seen as just a fill in until the "real" thing comes along? That is the vibe they are giving off.

The Fackrell move though is a slap in the face. I think they wanted to cut him before the season last year ( I remember hearing rumors) and are pissed he performed so well. I am very leery of this Packers brain trust.

The Packers kept 20 whites on their 53-Man roster, the highlights of which include a white WR (Kumerow), a white FB (Vitale), two white TE (Sternberger, Tonyan), 2 white DL (Lowry, Lancaster), and 3 white LB’s (Fackrell, Martinez, Summers)...

The quotablack, Kizer, has been cut and Kumerow’s competition, St. Brown, is on season-ending IR.

How happy are you that they dropped Kizer? It was the best news of cut day for me. :campeon:

Haha extremely happy. Had family members text me the news while i was at work. Also happy for Boyle who was a 4 Star recruit coming out of HS, signed at UConn and bounced to Eastern Kentucky. Looking like he'll be a better Pro than College Player.

Summers being the 2 deep on the depth chart listed behind Martinez at ILB. Not bad for a 7th rounder, I'll bet he sees the field quite a bit.

The Packers are now down to 19 whites on their roster, as TE Sternberger was placed on short-term IR. A black scrub WR was promoted to take his place.

According to Packers beat writer, Matt Scheidman, Rookie LB, Ty Summers, will "start" against the Bears...

Hopefully this is the start of a great career. He showed up big in the preseason...

Worried about TE Sternberger. That could turn into an all year IR ordeal. It is just an ankle thing.

I don't know if Summers starting is official which would be great but most have edge defender Fackrell , who Summers isn't replacing, on the bench. Really gets my goat.

But hoping for a Pack win. The Bears are near the top in the caste department. And they should be docked a notch because of their jerk of a head coach.

Bad news regarding Sternberger but it should benefit Tonyan. Bummed I'll be a t work tomorrow night and will miss the game. Summers and Martinez at MLB is an awesome combination.!

WR Trevor Davis was traded to the Raiders. One less black WR taking snaps from Kumerow, who is now the WR-4 behind Adams, Valdes-Scantling, and Allison.

Hopefully Davis doesn’t take any PT away from Renfrow.

Glad to see Davis gone. Packers also promoted TE Evan Bayliss from the PS as a result of the Davis trade. I'll second your sentiments and hope that it won't cut in to Renfrow's PT. Though i doubt it, as Davis had a limited route tree and is more of a vertical route or nothing guy.
