I think Pipkin and the poly qb performed their way out of being drafted. It's amazing both of them got invited over Rush, Terrell, Gustafson and even the Torgesen kid from Penn.

It seems like it's almost an annual thing where everyone laments the poor quality and depth of the QB class. It's obvious what the spread is doing to the position. I am glad Trubisky did declare and Peterman and Webb have their stock pointing north. It sounds like Kaaya, Evans and Kizers stock are falling. The combine is still a month+ away so a lot can happen and let's hope it's more stock damage to the quotabacks.

Chicago would be a good landing spot for Mitch Trubisky. They could take him with their first round pick.

Trubisky looks like the best QB prospect in the draft. He could start right away if the Bears release Cutler.

Plus Chicago has a large Polish population. I've heard it said there are more Poles in Chicago than in any city other than Warsaw. Trubisky would attract many fans among Chicago's Polish community.

Nice article on Cioffi. Looks like he was screwed out of a combine invite if his pro day is on March 3rd and that is when the DBs are supposed to arrive at the combine. The NFL should know better than to push the combine into March when Pro days kick off.

    Caste system in effect:

Wyoming WR Jake Maulhardt will move to TE in the hopes of making a career in the NFL.

Maulhardt stands six-foot-six and weighs 235-pounds, only a five-pound weight gain since the season ended. He hopes to get up to 250-pounds before the school's pro day in March. Maulhardt said discussions with NFL scouts is what pushed him to change positions.

I never heard NFL scouts push the Panthers two big WRs - Benjamin and Funchess to become TEs. Must be nice to be black.

Perhaps some good news on the QB front?

NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah believes Cal QB Davis Webb and Pitt QB Nathan Peterman could both be second round picks.

Specifically, Jeremiah used the phrase "wouldn't be shocked" when bringing up this outcome. This is a bit rich for us. Peterman and Webb both had their moments during Senior Bowl week, but we don't think either crack the top four passers in the NFL Draft or are second round talents in a vacuum. Rotoworld's Josh Norris spoke with a director of college scouting during East-West Shrine week who was interested in Peterman and liked the talent.

One prospect who is getting no buzz and to my knowledge did not receive a senior bowl invite is USC LT Chad Wheeler. His absence is somewhat interesting since he was a good tackle at USC. His lard ass teammate zach banner of course did get an invite despite weighing in around 360lbs.

Combine invites are slowly trickling in - WR Drew Morgan, Ryan Switzer and LB Brooks Ellis have all received invites. Pretty big win for Morgan to get an invite.

This weenieworld blurb made me laugh:

Speaking with CBS Sports' Dane Brugler, one NFL scout passed along word from his team's TE coach that Miami TE David Njoku has "the most upside he's ever seen in a prospect" at the position.

Just wait for the love Njoku is going to receive after the NFL Combine. Njoku split time with talented tight ends at Miami, which is one reason why his production might be lower than other prospects at the position. However, he boasts an inline frame and unreal athleticism and does not turn 21 years old until July. Upside, high ceiling, potential... he has it all.

Dat upside!!!! Let's see what happens when he does not live up to it.

Brugler get off your knees buddy!! Lol this TE class is going to be chocked full of upside and as a result there will be a higher than usual amount of BUSTS. There are about 5 white TE prospects I can think of off the top of my head that the public hasn't heard a peep about. When it's all said and done, I'm confident our top TE prospects Will outperform their upside ladden counterparts in the NFL 3 years from now. This TE class is worth remembering, can be good ammunition for us to document the unwarranted hype for these guys that resulted in them getting drafted over more deserving players.

    Ah, those "upside" tight ends!

Let's see now, Clive Walford was taken in the second round in 2015 -- his receiving yardage in his second year in a high octane passing offense in Oakland was a paltry 359 yards. He's a bust to this point.

In 2014, Eric Ebron went in the first round and Austin Sefarian-Jenkins in the second round, both supposedly had "mouth watering upside." Ebron has been a big disappointment while Sefarian-Jenkins has been a colossal bust.

In 2013, Jordan Reed went in the second round but he was the sixth TE selected. He's very good -- when he's not injured, which is frequently. BTW the five tight ends taken ahead of Reed were Eifert, Ertz, Escobar, McDonald and Kelce. All but the hispanic Escobar are very good to superstar good in the NFL.

In 2012, Dwayne Allen was the first TE drafted. He's a good blocker, but when he was drafted his "upside" was supposed to be his athleticism and ability to stretch the field. Wrong! Other highly drafted black tight ends that year include the already forgotten Orson Charles and Michael Egnew.

In 2011, Lance Kendricks went in the second round, with Kyle Rudolph the only other tight end to be drafted in the first two rounds. Kendricks is a journeyman talent, while Rudolph is one of the better tight ends in the league and really blossomed this past season with Sam Bradford utilizing him as a primary target.

In 2010, Jermaine Gresham was a first round pick. The "experts" drooled over his non-existent athleticism. Ed Dickson went in the third round, ahead of the much better Dennis Pitta, both taken by Baltimore. Dickson was supposed to be the "athletic" one, Pitta the lunchpail grinder. Wrong! Taken after Gresham but before Dickson was that Gronkowski fellow.

As with every other position, black "upside" usually exists only in the fevered and biased minds of the scouts and draft "gurus." But the sheer volume of blacks taken in the first few rounds of the draft every year ensures that some will indeed become stars, which justifies the current (caste) system and the near total shutting out of capable Whites at every step along the way after high school (and often even before high school).

This could be something that could knock down Trubisky's draft stock but he is a listed 6'3" but according to this source he is really 6'1". Typically quarterbacks shorter than 6'2" have to be agile and rollout some of the greatest quarterbacks have been listed 6' footers but they all were roll out scrambler types....http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/12135/mitch-trubisky

It may be true that Trubisky is only 6-1 but this smacks of the FNM engaged in the demeaning of a white player, something they do often. We won't know until an actual measurement is taken.

I remember they kept saying that Matt Barkley had small hands. When the measurements were taken it turned out Barkley had big hands.

Somehow all these reports tend to be about white players and they never say that a white player is better in some way than was thought. It's always something negative.

Trubisky is very athletic so rolling out and throwing on the run won't be an issue. I think he would fit in perfect with Shanahan's offense. It's funny to see everyone is trying to tear him down already. Rooting hard for him, he's a good QB and from what I have read an even better kid.

Seriously just what the hell is wrong with these "scouts". I really think this site is the only one that sees the sheer lunacy in statements like this:

One NFC scout told NFL.com's Lance Zierlein that he believes Michigan State DL Malik McDowell has a chance of becoming a dominant NFL player.

"I mean dominant," the NFC North scout said. "He's just a little lazy and I worry about whether he is going to be a self-starter." Expect McDowell to receive physical comparisons to Arik Armstead and DeForest Buckner, two defensive linemen recently selected in the first round. McDowell miss the final few games of the season with an undisclosed injury. Many will view McDowell's 2016 season as a disappointment compared to previous years, but perhaps that goes back to the "lazy" label.

For the record McDowell was garbage in 2016 and if he were white with those stats he would not even been viewed as draftable. Something has got to give with all of this "scout speak". They truly are some of the biggest morons in the caste system machine.

Head injuries are a good reason to forego playing football. Besides, he's going to "make good use of his degree", since he actually has one, unlike many affletes who "play ball, not school".

Yet another black TE with "tremendous upside" taken early in the draft (1st round in 2009) who mysteriously turned out not to have any upside.

Free agent TE Brandon Pettigrew was arrested for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct early Sunday morning in Bricktown, Okla. Pettigrew was allegedly pushing and arguing with two men outside an Oklahoma bar around 2 AM Sunday morning. He was "verbally defiant" with responding officers before eventually being booked in jail and later released the same day. Pettigrew, 32 later this month, was cut by the Lions in December after spending the first few months of the season on the reserve/PUP list.

Great highlight vid of Drew Morgan. I certainly didn't see a lack of speed in it. A well deserved combine invite!
