Since 2005 Syracuse has started 7,6,7,8,9,8,9,8, and 7 whites. This looks to be the worst year in a long time as the Orange (nee –men) drop all the way down to 4. The starters are:

Defense
DE – Robert Welsh
Backups on the three deep are OT Jon Burton, C Jason Emmerich, TE Tyler Provo, and LB Josh Kirkland.
Ever since the days of Dan MacPherson, Marvin Graves, and Donovan McNabb, this program has had a thing for black quarterbacks. They improved when they featured current Giants backup Ryan Nassib from 2010 to 2012, but they backslid last year when magical negro Terrel Hunt was made the starter and the Orange promptly finished 7-6. It’s safe to say that their defense and run game carried them to that mediocre record as they ranked 102[SUP]nd[/SUP] in Div I in passing. This year looks to be more of the same as Hunt is again ensconced as the starter.
On a side note Nassib’s cousin Joe Nassib, a 5-9, 180 lb. graduate student, is on the roster as a CB. However he doesn’t look like he will be seeing the field for this Caste-iron team as he isn’t even listed on the depth chart.
