    More Aussie outdoor season:

Sally Pearson is stunning everyone right now. She's just in a class by herself:

In the 800, Risely is said to have looked really good in finishing second to WR holder Rudisha. Interestingly, Rudisha is running no faster outdoors than Kszczot was running indoors a few weeks ago.

Unfortunately, the full results aren't up yet, but I'm interested to see how young Steven Solomon did in the 400, as well as how Nick Symmonds finished in the 800 (all I know are the times for Rudisha and Risely).

Also, here is an article on Gregson's triumphant return from injury.

Michael LeBlanc finished first in the 60 at a rather low key event, the Columbia Last Chance (primarily to qualify for NCAAs). 6.61.

I love wathcing Sally Pearon race. She is as good a track athlete as you will find in the world. In a class all by herself. She has such explosiveness and acceleration out of the blocks time after time. Despite her dominance, she has always been a beautiful woman who has never had the look of alot of hurdlers on p.e.d.s. Just think of D. Oliver or P. Lopes as examples.

I've often wondered if she could ever run close to 11 seconds flat if she had focused on just the sprints her entire career. I think it's highly possible. What a great female role model for girls from around the world. Very similar to Christophe Lemaitre. It is a pleasure to watch her on and off the track and I really hope that she brings home the gold in London. No one deserves it more than her in my opinon. I would also like to see her teammate Mitchell Watts bring home the gold in the long jump. Go Australia!

We will have to start an indoor 2012 World Indoor Championships Thread soon. It starts on Friday. I am anxious to see Ramil Guliyev running for Turkey in front of his home crowd. I'm hoping that barring anymore false starts, he can at least make the final. It would be great to see him break his p.b. along with Christian Blum of Germany!

I don't see much to get excited about here - no Christophe Lemaitre or Ramil Guliyev in the short sprints. I guess Christian Blum or Michael LeBlanc could make the finals....
In the men's 400m, more of the same.
Perhaps Richard Buck of GB or Pavel Maslek could medal . . .

Anybody have a clue why these two aren't participating? Guliyev at one time in the season was the world leader?

Almost nothing to cheer about at the Indoor World Championships, until now:
Sally Pearson of Australia wins the 60m hurdles in a world leading time of 7.73.
Only 3 women have ever run faster.

I found the finals on youtube if either Gulieyev or Lemaitre ran close to their capabilities either one would have won the bronze and would have been battling Nestah Carter for the silver. I don't think either could have caught Gatlin for gold.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZtwp-xSNQU

The indoor worlds were pretty meaningless. No one of note was there in most events, as so many athletes are waiting for the Olympics.

In the meanwhile, there were tons of exciting races at the NCAA's, especially in the distance events, where it is becoming more and more clear that US runners are becoming less intimidated by the Kenyans and are catching up--this is the most exciting development track and field has seen in years. US and UK runners dominated the mid distances (800 and mile) and the women's long distances. In the men's longer distance, Chris Derrick came with 0.17 of beating the Kenyan who's been breaking the NCAA records and who trains with Lagat (convicted drug cheat).

Anyway, the best event was the 4 by 400. If only we had a video of this! First place was...wait for it...Arkansas with messrs Niit, Skidmore, and Braddy. Second place was...wait for it...Penn State, with messrs Nadolsky, Loxsom, and Gehret. All the other schools were well-beaten. Beautiful.

Arkansas quartet won the NCAA indoor championships! 3 white guys on their relay team.
Penn State took 2nd, also with 3 white guys on their team!
Would love to see the video of that race.

Also Marek Niit of Arkansas took 4th in the men's 400m.

Another disgusting athletics champs only continues to get more and more black.
just reflects society and the systems that are now producing these athletes .
the only positive is that in alot of events all been done before and
    pretty mediocre ,

the most disgusting thing has got to be gatlin and his continuing to blatantly cheat ,
and is starting to run as fast as when first got ban.
and all the plastic female athletes representing britain ,
first off taking the place of true brits and secondly the guy in charge of uk
athletics that let this happen should be shot regardless if proper british athletes
were even in any way competive .
all a bunch of sell- out merchants and alot from good old usa.
thank you america for your pro black systems that continue to
pour out affletes that only thing want to do in society
is sport or entertain , and disease has spread all through west .

next the fact that is still widespread ped use , probably sarms ,etc
and that the use of them is growing .
allowing likes of gatlin to train without fear of ever being caught .
also think that ashton eaton is very much manufactured and
the powers that be will try everything to take decathlon w.r
from sebrle within next few years , unfortunately .
the way he finished 1000m in heptathlon not even out of breath
    is also highly suspect .
that is how sebrle got his record , it is the key a fast 1500 m
and normal dec-athletes laden with muscle for speed or power will never run this event
    fast without help .

oh and also the iaaf continue to run with the story that this ethiopian athlete in 800m
has just turned 18 years of age when couldnt be more from truth .
think has no birthcert and a much better story will be lets make him as young
as can to make look as good as can ,and still lots of room for improvement .

Thinks to british 4X400 in '90 and early 2000. They were mostly whites. Why? Whites and Blacks have the same possibilities. But it depends from country and not skin. PED are more available in some country than others. See it to black speeders in europe. In the past black people from britain were faster. Now? It's difficult to have PED. So we have whites and blacks at the same times. See to hurdles (60 and 100). Andrew Pozzi has an italian descent. But here in italy we had nomore a similar athlete! Why?:undecided:

And Lemaitre has italian descent. His mother has italian descent. Grandfather and grandmother were italians. And in Italy? Nobody! Why? But now we have great triple jumper. In the past only Gentile. Why? Every man in the world have the same possibilities. But it depends on country and PED availability. This is the only difference.
And this is the revolution. We see it. But revolution don't change everything in a bit of time. We have to waiting for. The faster 1992 athlete in 100 and 60 hurdles are a british and a german boys. And the british is Andrew Pozzi. It's incredible. But it's reality! When we stop to differentiate people by skin, we will have the same performance with many athletes from all over the world. And we begin to see it.

If you go back to the fall of the Roman Empire Lemaitre is descendant of Franks who are a Germanic tribe. The region of France he is from was overrun by the Franks. In German France is called Frankreich which is literally translated into the reign of the Franks.

If you don't know what about you tell, you have to silence. I'm an archaeologist. And the franks people only conquer Gaul, now France. But they didn't replace the Gallo-Roman people. The france people have only a bit of germanic or italic (roman) descent. Like north italic people have only a very very very small germanic descent from Longobardic germanic people. The majority in northern part of Italy are from north italic descent. But not latin. Because Romans are romans. And not all italians! We are differenciated (i don't know if it is the correct word...).
I tell about Lemaitre grandfather and grandmother. Not ancient romans!!!

People from north italy, south germany, and france are genetically similar. But differentiated from north germanic people. Do you know celtic people? Do you know that ancient italic (latin and other language like umbric, oscan and others...) and celtic language are nearest than celtic and germanic languages? And genetics tells us about similarity. It's geographically obvious. Genetics and people identity aren't the same thing. Longobards (a germanic people) = Lombardia (an italian region)! But in the middle ages was the noth italian name. Because the warrior elites are from longobardic descent. But only a small number against the other people from north italy, with ancient descent from other populations! And not romans.: Veneti, Etruscans, Insubres, Retics etc....

how do you know lemaitre has italian origins?

you could say the same about germany also
i think the south east of france and the north of france is as germanic as germany (franks in the north of france and burgundians in the south-east)

I answer with another question. Why in Burgundy do they speak French and not a Germanic language?
Do you know the cultural phenomena like latinization and germanization?
In north east of france is normal a gradual change due to genetic direct contacts over the millennia. But are not important the invasions. Rather the geographical proximity is more important.
The france people were latinized after the roman conquest. So now they speak a neolatin language. But the original peoples were celtic. The Gauls. They were latinized. In south germany (north to Danube) the original celtic people were germanized between I to probably III century AD. South to Danube the situation were different. The celtic people were romanized during roman empire. After the roman empire fall they spoke a neolatin language. But between VIII and X century they were germanized. This is due to the influence and administration of the Holy Roman Empire. But the original people is the same. Not romans nor germanics. But celtics. But languages change during centuries, like culture.

I told genetically similar. Not with the same genetics. But different to germanic people from north germany. But every people isn't waterproof. Contacts were and are the normality. But genetics is complicated to explain. So the appearance is another thing. But i'm not a genetist. Only i read some studies that explain some data with historical situations. North italians are more similar to french people than to south italians. But italians now have the same culture. People from North and South Tirol are german speaking. People from Trentino are italian speaking. But they are the same people. With different cultures. The magic of history.
