Mangini needs some remedial instruction in running the football. His playbook stinks. Or maybe it's his astonishing stubbornness.

Damn Cleveland coaches. They setup Hillis to fail by refusing to put Vickers on the field to help him.

Jacksonville has committed their entire defensive gameplan to stopping Hillis. A smart coach would punish this single-mindedness. I hate college offenses, but the zone read with Colt faking to Hillis and keeping the ball would probably result in a long run and a flipped field.

This game should've been a blowout victory for Cleveland. Now they'll go three-and-out again and lose to lowly Vaudeville.

Have they picked up a single yard out of the offset-I in this game? I don't think so.
Either line it up straight or don't run it at all.

How true. Moore never seems to be on the field until the 4th quarter...at which point a 30-40 catch is promptly completed.

Jon Kitna just scored on a 29 yard RUN! nice

David Anderson had a 35 yard catch.

Riddlewire, you are absolutely right.

Shipley is Bengals leading receiver, 5 for 71; Tom Nelson is playing for Bengals.

Game over.

edit:
And now I lost the stream I was watching. So I won't get to see Cleveland's last minute failure.

Garrard a joke only with dink and dank passes he gained his yards. 3 INT 1 Fumble

Luckily for him, the Cleveland coached helped big time by refusing to help Hillis and refusing to play Evan Moore.

Well, Hillis can't be expected to have a record-breaking game every day. He did well, considering the way he was utilized.

Having said that, however, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Hillis was deliberately being put on the back burner so as not to create too much mania around him, and thereafter more questioning by the fans as to why there aren't more like him.

Same thing for Hester, Leonard, Gerhart, et al.

Who knows, maybe he needs to be deliberately put in his proper White place because doing so helps the NFL maintain the status quo better.

Or maybe Cleveland's coach is just special ed and doesn't know it. Whatever.Edited by: GiovaniMarcon

On the positive side, only one poster on the Browns board blamed Hillis for the loss.

I guess that's progress. Usually a white runningback would be universally vilified.

He did have a record-breaking game didnt he? 95 yards receiving. Is that not his record for receiving?

Ofcourse, when the TV presented the leading receivers, they didnt put on the screed Hillis' receiving numbers, they put some afrolet WR with pathetic numbers.

Why no help from Vickers in any of his runs?

And Evan Moore, what can I say. Everytime he is on the field, he does very good. Last 2 drives, when he was utilized, produced great yardage. f**k the Cleveland coaches, they make me sick.

It's absolutely absurd that Evan Moore is not on the field every single play. How long does he have to prove himself? He was doing the exact same thing last year. Beyond Hillis, the Browns have nothing unless Evan Moore is on the field. Does anybody know roughly how many plays Moore was in on? Seems like single digits. What's so frustrating is the team would have a winning record if the coach would have the guts to simply start who he knows is the better player.

Yeah the Jags had the middle of the line clogged, the Oline wasn't playing that great today, the one toss play to the outside I saw, the one of the linemen didn't even hold their blocks for half a second and allowed a guy to get free. When they threw to him he made plays, unfortunately he has to crack 1k rushing to get respect, 1k from scrimmage won't mean anything in the eyes of dwfs. It shouldn't be held against whites that they have better hands and can help out in the passing game more than the average tailback. Luckily he only needed to avg 39 yards to stay on pace for a 1k, he had, I think 48? Next game will be better. I just don't want his ypc to drop to far down because of coaching and blocking. To his credit, Cribbs was out and then Watson. I agree Evan Moore should be used more, he is money. They will have to use him next week, they don't have any other weapons. Maybe they should seriously think about Curtis.

Either way, Hillis proves he can get it done no matter the situation, still got a touchdown and had 140+ yards from scrimmage. Mike Bell had 1 yard one 1 carry. The next play Colt McCoy was getting pressure, looking through his reads, Bell was open, you could tell McCoy though about it, then realized, wait thats not Hillis, and then decided not to throw it to him, wise move because Bell sucks at receiving, a few passes last year that bounced off of him and either were intercepted or close to being. Then I don't think they took Hillis out of the game. That was actually his 2nd best receiving game, 116 yards on 7 catches was his best, but that was lined up at fullback for the Broncos.

Btw, Hillis already has 1100+ yards from scrimmage this season

Austin Collie just dropped a pass (maybe the first drop of his career?), but he has been responsible for nearly all of the Colts offense thus far. Collie has 60 yards receiving in the first half (on 5 catches), while the rest of the Colts have combined for 25 yards of offense.

edited to add: for the Patriots, Welker is looking terrific. i think he's finally getting his legs back under him. also, Woodhead has looked good in limited touches.Edited by: Jimmy Chitwood

The Pats vs Colts Game is how the NFL should be in a fair world. While neither team if perfect. At least they have a little bit more fair of a racial balance to their teams. Especially on offense. I still don't know why the Colts were not interested in drafting Gerhart. They having had a good running back since E.James and that was many years ago.

This game is fun to watch. Collie and Welker are putting on a clinic of how to play wide receiver. I love watching these guys compete. I wish they would let Danny Woodhead run the ball more. He may be small but he has power to go with his speed and moves. He is the type of back that can break the big runs but he doesn't get enough chances to do so.

I feel bad for the Browns losing another heartbreaker. Hillis played outstanding despite them stacking the line. He has to be the best catching running back in the whole NFL.

Chris Cooley had 7 ctches for 91, most of them came late.

both Babin and Ball had sacks for Titans. They have 7 and 8 on the season and are one of the best DE duos in the NFL atm!

i am also going to go out on a limb and say that had Collie stayed healthy the whole season we would be looking at NFL's leading receiver in both yards and TDs.

EDIT: damn, Collie apparently came back too soon, he is out, hopefully as a precaution on the account of few hits he took after having concussion recently. go Blair White. Edited by: backrow
