What is Gocong? Part white and part Asian?

Either way, this is good news.

Trusnik right at home with Browns

Trusnik is accustomed to earning his keep. At Nordonia, he never played defensive end until his senior season. Then, he went to Division III Ohio Northern University, where he set school records for career sacks (43) and tackles for loss (85).

When the 2007 NFL Draft rolled around, Trusnik was overlooked. The Jets signed him as an undrafted free agent, waived him, then signed him to their practice squad before promoting him to their active roster midway through his rookie season.

After D'Qwell Jackson and Eric Barton suffered season-ending injuries last year, Trusnik's playing time drastically increased. When Jackson was sidelined again last week â€" he's expected to be out three to eight weeks with a pectoral strain â€" Trusnik knew he needed to be ready for his role to expand.

Trusnik had 4 tackles yesterday.

Here's a typical example of Rotoworld's anti-White m.o. They pick up a story from the wire, or somewhere on the internet, then inject their own negative spin. Here's their just posted blurb about Colt McCoy:

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that rookie QB Colt McCoy will make the Browns' roster baring "unforeseen circumstances." The paper cites a league source, arguing that the Browns never planned for McCoy to see the field in 2010, thus making his incredibly poor camp and preseason less concerning. The Browns project him as a long-term backup.

Note what I highlighted in bold, and see if you can find it anywhere in the actual source article:

http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2010/08/cleveland_browns_colt_mccoy_wi.html

This notion that the Browns took McCoy in the third round only to be a backup, especially when Jake Delhomme is in the twilight of his career, is a fabrication by Rotoworld, yet another example of how they almost always portray a White football player in the worst light possible. And because it's a widely read site, that will become the mantra of the DWFs -- "McCoy sucks, he was never considered anything more than backup material anyway."

There's always at least one White QB at any given time who is the target of the media and DWFs. The hate campaign against Matt Leinart is way out of control; while Big Ben Roethlisberger is being made the scapegoat for epidemic criminal black behavior.

In Cleveland, Jake Delhomme was nearly universally written off as finished, but he's looking pretty good to the chagrin of the DWFs, so now they have rookie Colt McCoy in their crosshairs. Needless to say there has never been a black rookie QB subjected to anywhere near the same kind of criticism -- and lord knows what woeful "projects" the vast majority of themare coming out of college -- that McCoy is receiving this early in his career. From dear old Rotoworld:

SI.com passes along "a sense" in the Browns' organization that rookie Colt McCoy is "in over his head" as an NFL quarterback. The team is worried that McCoy is "not the physical talent they believed him to be." McCoy's numbers improved in the third preseason game, but he still made back-to-back boneheaded errors to close out the contest. While we don't think he'll be waived, it's certainly not out of the question. The Browns have a slew of linebackers and defensive backs they may prefer to keep.

It's the same principle as the MSM's eternal search for the Great White Defendant.

Don, another quarterback who is despised by the DWF's is Jay Cutler. He's always blamed for his teams problems. The situation won't improve for him in Chicago. He was sacked the most times in his career last year and had a career low qb rating. With Hatie Smiff running the show Cutler is screwed.

True, the Chicago DWFs will jump all over Cutler this year just like they did last year if the team isn't good on offense, which it isn't likely to be with its perennial awful o-line and "talented" but somehow unproductive receivers.

Kevin Kolb is another one. Right now the fans are behind him because he's clearly more accurate than McNabb ever was, but the Eagles sumo o-line is bad. Kolb has rarely had time to throw this preseason, so we know what that portends for the regular season -- Boo! You suck Kolb! Leinart will have the same problem and so will Big Ben when he returns from his persecution, er suspension.

The forced feeding of black offensive linemen the past decade clearly hasn't worked, but the DWFs are too limited in their knowledge and awareness to put the blame anywhere but on the quarterbacks they love to hate.Edited by: Don Wassall

Chicago's o-line is terrible and not one white will be starting this season. Robert Garza is hispanic and Olin Kreutz is part white and part Polynesian I think. The other three are sumos. I expect Cutler to take even more sacks this season.

There is nothing to get excited about in Chicago this season. On offense Olsen is the only bright spot. I know he's only 25 but he should already have had a 1,000 yard receiving season if he was used correctly in the passing game. He has receiver speed(4.5 40). Urlacher will probably be the only white starter on defense.

Just thumbing through stats, that terrible not-ready-for-the-NFL QB, Colt McCoy is currently 13 for 13, 131 yards, a few minutes into the 3rd quarter... Edited by: FootballDad

Good for Colt! The campaign against him -- in his rookie training camp for god's sakes -- is almost as sickening as the one against Matt Leinart.

In the Browns game, I notice that neither Jerome Harrison or Peyton Hillis have any stats. I can't see the game, but I would guess that they are on the sideline with just their jerseys on. A really good sign for Hillis! Montario Hardesty is getting most of the carries so far, and has managed a stunning 25 yards on 7 carries so far....

I saw a little of the NFL Network today. They said Colt McCoy was "on the bubble" and in danger of being waived.

Thats what I thought, FootballDad. It's so easy for the douche bag experts to bash a guy throughout training camp. McCoy finally got some game action and shut them up.

I thought Ventrone was of mixed race.

If you include Chris Gocong, Kaluka Maiava and David Veikune that's 3 more none black linebackers.

Ventrone is clearly an Italian last name. Ray's picture looks very white to me but it's possible he looks very tan sometimes. My good buddy is half Italian, half Spanish and he's darker then Ray.

With Peyton Hillis, a white friendly D and the "kicked to the curb" Jake Delhomme, I will certainly be pulling for the Browns this season.

I've seen several "mystery meats" with Italian surnames, and I'm hesitant to latch onto them as White athletes unless there is proof (like family pictures of parents/grandparents).

This is 2010, where surnames don't mean as much as they used to, due to miscegenation/adoptions, and just (light-skinned) people who change their surnames to try and "pass" as White.

Recently, from looking at Rivals, I've seen multiple (but not a ton) mixed blacks with Italian surnames. No way were they White.. They were ******* and had the primitive wide-set eyes (and the thug stare). If I went to Italy, I doubt that I would see much genetics like that.

Well, they probably have Italian fathers and black mothers.

Ray Ventrone is certainly of European decent. He has straight black hair, high cheek bones, and a thin, small nose.

His brother Ross (who was recently cut by New England) also played at Villanova and facially looks very similar, but has light brown hair. He resembles MMA fighter Clay Guida.

If Ray's not white, then I wouldn't consider myself white, either.

Brian Robiskie will be a starter this year. He only had 7 catches last season and while I can't say he's a bust just yet why does he become a starter all of a sudden? No white players are ever given this type of opportunity after impressive seasons let alone poor ones. From Rotoworld:

Brian Robiskie is expected to start opposite Mohamed Massaquoi on Sunday, as expected.
<div ="s_pNewsTextMain">
Before we call Robiskie a bust after a seven-catch rookie campaign,
let's remember that he's still only 22 and had a woeful quarterback
situation last year. Even though Jake Delhomme is declining badly, he at
least has some veteran experience. Still, this offense isn't going to
support two wide receivers. Massaquoi is the Brown to take a flier on.</div>

Thanks, I had never seen a picture of him before and had only seen him in a couple of preseason games and he was very tanned and so I wasn't sure. Clay Guida is certainly white enough for me!
