It starts one week from today. I can't wait to see a start list for the meet. As far as I know, both Ramil Guliyev and Robert Herring are both going to be there. I don't think Christophe Lemaitre will as he has to run in the French National Championships. I reall wish that he could have skipped it to run in this meet. Imagine a 200 with Guliyev, Lemaitre and Herring all coming around the corner and heading down the home straight. What a race that would be! We will have to wait and see who is doubling and who is entered. With less than 7 days to go, I'm already pumped up! Whom ever sees the starting lineups first, please post them if you beat me to it.

Guliyev could go sub 10 or sub 20 next week depending on what he races. When he ran a 20.42 and 10.08 I thought he'd be closer to sub 10. Now that he's run 20.04 so he's on the border for both. Already he is close to Borzov, except Borzov was a superb starter. Guliyev should push Herring to a new PB.Edited by: StarWars

I don't see Guliyev's name in the results of the heats of the 100m.Edited by: jacknyc

Your looking at the Under 23 Championships. Totally different track meet. The Euro Junior Championships doesn't start until next week. This is a huge meet with most of the best young talent in the world there. It is like a Junior Olympics.

Finally we should see who the fastest white junior is. Christophe and Ramil in that last 40 meters should be quite a fight.

If only we could have seen them battling over 200 meters as well. I do beive that Christophe and his coach are on a mission. In my opinion, they are trying to get Christophe to be the first to go sub 10! They are not entering him in many 200 races this summer hence his p.b. is still only average. We all know he is way quicker than a 20.60's time! He should at least be in the 20.30's area! That being said, he should go sub 10.10 at the Euro Junior Champs and possibly sub 10 by Berlin. They know what they are doing.

The question for you guys is if you had to pick between which of these young guys would go sub 10 first, who would you pick? Ramil or Christophe? I still have to pull for my boy Craig but other than that, I hope Christophe does it first. Probably because the blonde hair and blue eyes will shut up everyone. No one will have any doubt as to if he is white enough. Ramil is just as white as Christophe but you know how stupid people are. They will claim him as Asian or something which is a lie. They can't say anything about Craig or Christophe. They look like they could both be out of a Norman Rockwell Painting. The reality is I want everyone of these kids to break 10 including Robert Herring, Christian Blum, and many others.

Ramil. The clock doesn't lie. Christophe has a lot of unfulfilled potential and a smart coach. It should be close next week. 2 m/s wind and a sub 10 is guarenteed to both. I can't wait. Craig needs it though, and now.

Mark next Friday on your calendar. It could be a day that we will never forget. In addition to Lemaitre, Guliyev and Herring all battling it out, Craig is ready to make a statement. He still wants that 9.98! I know this for a fact. I know he belives he is capable of it. It sounds impossible but you just never know. Can you just imagine if Craig went sub 10 and booked his ticket to Berlin? Then later in the day Guliyev and Lemaitre do the same. Ok guys, I know it's just a pipe dream at the moment but who would have thought Ramil would have already ran 20.04? No one. Things seem to happen in bunches. I have a great feeling about next weekend and so does my friend. Let's just see what happens. Put it all out there and let the times lay where they may! Instead of one 9.98, I will be pulling for three next weekend. After that I may get a little greedy and just wish for a sub 20 to be the icing on the cake. If any one or all of these things happen, I will be like Homer Simpson. Woo hoo! Where is the Duff Beer? Hehehehe.

The winner of the 100 will go sub 10 as long as there is no strong headwind I think.

cant wait! to answer your question white lightning, I tend to think Lemaitre will go first. Ramil has shown he can do it right now with the right wind, but I think it will be hard for him to run faster this year. I got this feeling Lemaitre will run just as fast in Berlin. I want Pick to be the first, but if I had to guess out of these 3 it will be the Frog within the next 1-2 years. if all goes right, I belive we will see 2 maybe 3 by the 2011 WC. its looking really good for a white sub ten. the best its ever looked!

I agree- this should be great. I think there is a good chance to get 2 guys under 10.10. It's possible we could see Guliyev under 10.00.
I wonder if Abrantes will be there too.
Suddenly, with these 3 guys who weren't even on the radar until very recently, things look brighter than ever!
Pickering is out of the hunt though. He hasn't broken 10.20 this season. He is not going to drop .25 in one race - it's impossible.
I just saw him in a meet in Spain and he looked.....not good.

To be fair, my friend is desparate. He just raced the UK Trials with 3 heats, then 3 days later raced on the 15th for a win, and another 3 days later, he had 2 heats today. He is completely exhausted. Just for your info, he was trying to impress the selection committee with a big time. The body can only do so much. It has been a long season. He has one last chance to do something on Friday at the Aviva Grand Prix on his home turf. It's a long shot but let's remember that this kid has given it, everything he has. Craig also plays by the rules. Most of you guys know that it takes alot of time to recover when you are racing almost 10 seconds flat for the 100 meters. It beats up your body almost as bad as football. I personally feel so bad for him because I know how bad he wants it. I also know that all of us here are pulling for him. It's just probably not going to be his year and that sucks in a World Championships Year. It would have been better if it happened next season with no major champs up for grabs. Oh well, at the end of the day, he is still my boy and also my favorite sprinter. Good luck on Friday Craig!

One last thing. I hope Ramil doesn't burn out by running too many races this close to the world champs. He will probably have to run between 4-6 races next weekend. Then he will be running in Germany on August 2nd. I just want him to be rested for Berlin. He is the only star of his country. At least he has youth on his side. If even one of these guys can break 10 or 20, I will be a happy man. Good luck to this terrific trio of Ramil Guliyev, Christophe Lemaitre and Robert Herring.

white lightning,

we got to see this meet! your always good at finding video links to meets. we need you to dig and find this one! you're a blood hound at hunting this kind of stuff down, work your magic!

I got a feeling this is going to be history. I'm feeling a 19.91 for the Rocket! I'm not feeling it for the 100m, but if the frog can walk away with a PR & Rocket with a near PR, I would be happy.also need Hering to PR, maybe a 10.20? this is going to be awesome! f**king PUMPED!

and also Picks running. this is going to be a good week, I can't feel it! I may have to take off from work.

They can say what they want but they will just look stupid. I'll bet if they asked Ramil or Christophe if they were white, they would probably just ignore them. It's like saying Simeon Williamson is not black. Guliyev and Lemaitre are both like white flight. They move to where they want to go in a hurry. You can't catch them!

Both of these guys make me so proud to be white. Not that I wasn't already but they are finally proving what we have thought for years. If they accomplish the sub 10 or sub 20, I nominate them for Caste Athletes of the Year. Maybe of the Decade!

You will need to call in albinosprint! Trust me that you don't want to miss this. It's time for a 3 day weekend to celebrate history in the making. I will do everything in my power to get a link for anyone not working Friday. If only I could be in both places at once. This is going to be special.

Oh man, the stars are really lining up on this one. In the 100 they are neck and neck age and time wise and will push each other. And there won't be the intimidation factor of some 9.7 Jamaican drug freak in the race. They're both going to be going for first place.

I just noticed the the mens 100 quarterfinals and semifinals are both on Thursday. I didn't think it was until Friday. I'm probably going to miss them both. This sucks. I'm bummed as I wanted to watch every round. I also noticed that Robert Herring of Germany is only running the 200 meters. That is too bad has he has the 3rd fastest p.b. in the 100 with a 10.34! Oh well. He could have probably easily broke his p.b. but he must be planning on running the 200 of his life to push Guliyev.

Good luck to all three of these future superstar sprinters. They already are stars but I belive they have a chance to get into the rare superstar category down the road. It will be interesting to see if Lemaitre can really push Guliyev in the 100! Should be one hell of a race!
