Since 2005, MTSU has had 6, 5, 5, 8, 8, 4, 6, 4, 1, 2, 6, 5, 4, 3, 6, 5, and 5 white starters. 3 this year.

MTSU is one of the teams I think of as the poster boy for irrelevant programs with few white players. The name even sounds like the parody of a school. What do they gain from recruiting so few white talent?

Safety Reed Blankenship made this team worth following last year, but he has graduated. 2020 starting QB Asher O'Hara, an exciting dual threat, transferred to FCS Sacramento State, where he appears to be a bit of a utility tool. He was probably better off as a starter at the FBS level.

LB Drew Francis was listed as a starter as a freshman last year, but it looks like he didn't get a ton of PT. On the official 2022 depth chart, he is once again listed as a starter. Hopefully he sees more action, Francis is the only white defender on the entire roster, scholarship or otherwise.

Former FSU and NC State QB Bailey Hockman was buried on the MTSU depth chart last year, but apparently retired in September 2021 to focus on a newborn. Truthfully, a more important thing.

Nice write up. Completely agree. Would a few more honkeys make this team any less relevant than it already isn't? lol
