In the infamous 2015 draft (the blackest ever and completely coincidentally one of the most bust-filled ever), the Cincinnati Bengals made two all-time horrible picks in the first three rounds. In the first round, they selected OT Cedric Ogbuehi with the #21 overall pick. Ogbuehi was the classic prototypical sumo with bust written all over him. His scouting report warned that he "lacked functional power," had a "weak punch," "poor anchor", "poor leverage", and had "technical flaws." Despite these red flags, all of which are crippling for an offensive lineman, the Bungles drafted him anyway because he was a "gifted athlete" with "tremendous upside." After three years of poor play, position changes, and what was described as a "complete lack of heart and improvement" by the team, the Bengals demoted him to the bench for his fourth year and declined the fifth-year option on his contract. This black bum is still in the league thanks to his black privilege - after being let go by Cincinnati, Ogbuehi has bounced around to the Jaguars, Seahawks, and Ravens, never catching on with any of them, and is now with the odious Houston Texans.

As bad as Ogbuehi was, the Bengals' third-round, 99th overall pick in 2015, Paul Dawson, was even worse. After putting up flashy numbers at TCU, Dawson was hyped heavily going into the 2015 draft, being named the top inside linebacker in his draft class and being compared to Vontaze Burfict by Bengals then-defensive coordinator Paul Guenther. Initially expected to be a first-round pick, Dawson fell in the draft due to concerns about "character" and "attitude issues", along with a "lack of an NFL mindset." The Bengals took him at #99, likely due to the influence of Marvin "X" Lewis (Dawson was described as a classic "Marvin Lewis guy.") Known for repeatedly being late to team meetings at TCU (a red flag conveniently ignored by Marvin X), Dawson's woes continued in the NFL. In addition to his attitude issues, Dawson's play in practice showed such a serious lack of athleticism that he rarely saw the field at all when the season began. After just one year, he was waived and then signed to the practice squad - an extraordinary move for a player who was drafted relatively early. A year after that, the Bengals cut him for good. The Seahawks signed him to their practice squad and briefly promoted him to the active roster before cutting him as well. Dawson never played in the NFL again, finishing with a grand total of 16 tackles, 0 sacks, 0 interceptions, 0 forced fumbles, and 0 fumble recoveries. He played one season in the CFL before being out of football for good.

One team managed to draft not one but two mega-busts in just the first three rounds of a single draft. But you'll rarely, if ever, see the names of Cedric Ogbuehi and Paul Dawson on the lists of "all-time busts."

Excellent post. The NFL Network did follow its time-honored tradition the other night and yet again played its antiquated show on draft busts, also beloved by ESPN, which revolves around, let's say it together brethren and sistern: M-I-K-E M-A-M-U-L-A!!

Josh Jacobs may not qualify as a bust, but he's certainly nothing special. He's not fast, doesn't have burst or much elusiveness, yet was drafted in the first round and has been one of the few RBs used pretty much as a bellcow back since coming into the league. Just shows yet again that the talent pool at running back is weak, as it is at every position that is limited to Blacks only in perpetuity.

The Athletic's Vic Tafur believes a bell cow role for Josh Jacobs is "unlikely" in 2022.
Tafur went as far as to suggest new head coach Josh McDaniels believes rookie Zamir White is already a superior option to Jacobs and Kenyan Drake. Both Raiders veteran backs will likely be gone after the 2022 season, Tafur said, and the team doesn't see Jacobs as an every-down back in part because he's struggled through a litany of injuries during his three years in the NFL and has shown no explosion as a runner.

Instead of "recent" draft busts this clown belongs in a new category -- "instant" draft busts. I liked the Titans for a while but Vrabel is a dedicated Caste cuck and it won't be surprising if Ryan Tannehill is demoted or cut at some point to make way for Willis. Still will be rooting for Tannehill and rookie Kyle Philips though:

Titans HC Mike Vrabel told reporters that WR Treylon Burks is "unavailable" for Titans minicamp.
Burks did not take part in minicamp on Tuesday and Wednesday, and also missed last week's open OTAs. It's unclear if Burks' absence is related to asthma, which he dealt with in early OTA sessions. Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer also reported that Burks "labored" through pre-draft private workouts. Titans WR coach Rob Moore told reporters before practice that Burks is "going to be fine... I'm pretty sure of that." Drafters seem more than "pretty sure" about Burks, taking the absent rookie as WR38 in early drafts.

Another first round bust. Dawson Knox is probably laughing to himself at his new "competition":

The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia reports that TE O.J. Howard has not looked like a dynamic pass catcher at Bills minicamp.
Buscaglia notes that Howard's 6-foot-6, 250-pound frame stands out on the practice field, it's also evident that "his movement skills are well below what Knox brings to the table." Specifically, Howard's route running has jumped out: "Howard has not been quick in and out of his breaks, which could hamper his ability to deceive the defender and separate while running routes." Howard was an exceptional athlete coming out of Alabama, running a 4.51 40 at 251 pounds, with an elite 6.85 30-cone. However, he tore his Achilles in 2020, which has so far derailed his promise as a pass-catcher. Howard's blocking ability and size are enough to give him TD upside out of 12 personnel in goal line sets, but he appears to have a ways to go to eat into Dawson Knox's routes.

Haha gotta love it. Burks really is making noise as an instant bust. Hard to stink this much, this early.

Howard is still living off one big TD catch in The National Championship.. He's a workout warrior, but is stiff as a board on the field.

Knox may run slower in tights and in a straight line, but clearly straight line speed isn't everything. Not like that will wake up any caste system scouts out there. Every year they get duped by track stars.

Couple more BUSTS in KC Safety Juan Thornhill and NYJ LT Mekhi Becton.

First Thornhill is delusional. He was drafted to replace that dreaded whitey Safety in Daniel Sorensen. He couldn't do that and he could barely stay on the field. Now he's 26 and thinks he's going to be an All Pro. Lol I'm telling you these Black Guys do not lack in their confidence and egos...

Secondly we have Mekhi. 6'7 365 of lard ass. All of CF was in agreement he would be a BUST and the crew at CF doesn't miss on much! Make it or break it year for him.

*Note Baltimore and Calais Campbell are also delusional. They weren't on the cusp of The Playoffs last year. No where close lol. Let's hope Lamar's career trajectory follows RG Knees.

** I disagree with the writer regarding Ryan though. He's going to have a great season in Indianapolis with all their weapons.

I'll go ahead and take a victory lap on this one lol. Burks was one of two players taken in the 1st round (Kyle Hamilton is the other) whom I had labeled as a predict-a-bust prior to the draft, and it looks like he's about to flop even quicker than I anticipated. Take a look at this:

https://twitter.com/HaydenWinks/status/1537899377905176576

According to The Athletic, Mike Vrabel was asked about Burks at minicamp, and his answers "indicate a lack of conditioning that would not be explained by asthma". So Burks doesn't actually have any excuses, he's just a slob. He could end up being a legendary bust for the Titans.

I expect a few other highly drafted receivers to join Burks. You had multiple guys with blown out knees and other serious injuries just last season going in the first and second rounds. What could possibly go wrong?

Just illustrates again the weak and getting weaker talent pool. But when the talent pool always looks the same year after year after decade after decade, few DWFs are capable of seeing what's going on, even with the all the busts in recent years. Just show them the "all time busts" show from 20 years ago featuring Mandarich, Mamula and Leaf once or twice a year and they're content.

ESPN's Michael DiRocco writes that Jags EDGE K'Lavon Chaisson "could be on the roster bubble" in Jacksonville.
With just two sacks in over 400 NFL pass rush reps, and woeful seasonal PFF grades of 47.0 and 49.6, this doesn't come as a major surprise. If Chaisson had done anything worthwhile Travon Walker likely would not have become a Jaguar. As it is, Walker will likely start ahead of Chaisson, and the former 20th overall pick might become a depth pass rusher or reclamation project.

Patriots trade 1st round bust N’keal Harry to the Bears for a 2024 7th rounder. Huge whiff by Belichek on Harry

Coach Belichek is a great coach and very good in free agency most of the time. The NFL Draft is by far his biggest weakness. They don't know how to evaluate high caliber talent.

Now that this turd is gone, an opening could be available for Andy Isabella or Scotty Miller, both of whom could probably be acquired for very little. Does anyone expect The Genius to try that? Lol, don’t hold your breath.

In addition to some of the dubious first and second round picks of WRs this year -- several coming back from blown-out knees, one who's fat and has asthma -- the career of this 2022 second rounder may be over before it starts:

Texans WR John Metchie III was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia and will "likely" not be playing football in 2022.
Best wishes to Metchie as he battles this disease. His statement notes that he is in good spirits and expects to make a recovery at a later point in time. He's been through the ringer with injuries on the field and from a football perspective this certainly puts his career in some manner of doubt. From a fantasy perspective, Nico Collins and Brevin Jordan stand to benefit the most from Metchie's absence. This sucks.
