A new name to watch in Europe is Pol Retamal.
He is 23 yrs old and ran a 20.28 200m into a negative 1.1 wind at the Spanish Championships.

Guys I hate to say it but I wonder if Devin Quinn will keep running. This year has been a big step backwards. It's tough once you get out of school. He didn't enter the US Track Championships which just ended last weekend. I have
a bad feeling that he may retire early like John Teeters did. I hope he gives it one more year. He looked good indoors last season and was at least semi ok outdoors. This year has just been bad all the way around. Hope he keeps running
next year in 2023. We have alot of Devin Quinn Fans here and he is still the fastest Big 10 Sprinter in History with his wind legal 10.01 time! :)

Here are his races outdoors in the 100 meters which is his main event.

He needs to take a break and re-evaluate his health etc as these times are not very good. I'd say he is either tired or dealing with an injury of some type. He has the genetics to run sub 10.....whatever the issue is I hope he figures it out and continues sprinting and gets to where he should be.

Ramil Guliyev just posted a 10.16 in Morocco. I noticed a "Ekaterina Guliyev" won the 800m - so I checked her out on Wiki. An ex-Russian, they married in 2019.
Her PBs are 1.57.5/800, 52.9/400 , 4.00 /1500
Nice to keep the athletics genes rolling

Yes that's awesom. First off that Guliyev can still scorch the track in his 30's. He has had quite an amazing career. Second that he found love and a fellow track athlete. The same thing with Richard Kilty. His wife is so beautiful and talented.

I think there is a part of all of us here that hopes that Boling and Steiner will date and then get married. Can you imagine the potential of their kids with both of their athletic genes? Wow would that be fun to see!

he looks to be progressing ... BACKWARDS. I haven't heard anything - they're fairly secretive.
I'm writing him off for the Worlds - he won't get out of the heats. If his injury needs more time he's got Commonwealth Games 100m heats on August 2nd

Guys I have to say in all my decades of following track, I can't remember a worse season for the european male sprinters. I could see if it was an off year but you have the World Champs and the European Championships. I'm guessing many of them
are just going to try and peak for the European Championships which is in Germany later this summer. While I'm excited to see that event, it's still sad so many of our men just haven't rised to the levels we are used to.

The few bright spots a I guess would be a few Brits running a good but not great 200 meters.

Hope all of European Brothers and Sisters step up their A Game for later this summer! I'm still calling for Julian Wagner to dip below 10 seconds. We will see but he is the most consistant male sprinter in Europe that's not an import. He has run
10.12 three times so he is due in the right race. He almost never gets a good wind. Put him on a hot track with a 2.0 tailwind and he will get it. I want him to get it period with or without the wind. He has the talent without a doubt.

WL I agree with you on this year of the white male european sprinters. I agree in regards to Wagner, it will happen for him soon. The other blip on the radar was Guliyev's 10.16 100m race, shows promise of quicker times for him during the rest of the outdoor season.

Andrew Robertson ran a 10.22 today. This guy is in his 30's and has always just been a guy I rooted for for over a decade now. He never got the funding or sponsors but just always did his best. Very talented sprinter even if he never went sub 10.

18 year old German Sprinter Eddie Reddemann ran a 10.39 today which qualifies him for the World Under 20 Championship. Since he is the age of a high school senior he might be one to watch in a few more years.

Mary Beth Sant Price and Hannah Cunliffe are running in Canada tommorow. I wonder if Hannah had been hurt because I haven't seen her races much this year?

no worries found the meet. It is in Edmonton, Alberta, the track is usually quite fast as long as the weather holds, if so the times should be fast. Cunliffe is using a seed time(10.99)from like 5 years ago, as far as I can tell she is nowhere near that form. Hoping Sant wins in a sub 11.

In another heat Deniz Almas of Germany ran a 10.16 and Jacob Despard 10.19 but the wind was slightly over the legal limit. In this same heat Austrian Markus Fuchs ran 10.09 but againt it was slightly wsindy. Such a shame. Jan Volko 10.26 in heat.

Pascal Mancini ra a wind legal 10.23 p.b. in his heat for the win.

Later on in the meet Filippo Tortu ran a new seasons best of 20.15 wind legal. Great to see him finally put down a good time.

The times at this meet are bogus.
It's only worth looking at where they finished relative to others in the race, and who those others were.

I just checked the top lists at WortldAthletlics.org and they are already listed as all legal times So I'm not so sure as to your analysis as they take this stuff seriously with full electric timing and officials.

How so? Even at all comers level meets(the lowest level) wind gauges and timing have to meet IAAF standards or the times aren't considered legitimate and can't be used for qualifying for national level to world level meets.

By the way where was this meet?

A new name to watch from Russia with love! Had to quote the James Bond Movie for laughs!

21 year old Russian Sprinter Danila Ten ran a 10.15 windy and 10.19 wind legal on July 1st at Stadium Desna, Bryansk in Russia! Fantastic times for such a young man who I have never heard of! Hope to see more of this in the near future! :)

It was at the Stade de La Charrière, La Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland.
