Gonzaga faces #5 Duke tonight at 10:30 on ESPN. It will be interesting to watch the white #1 prospect (Chet Holmgren) face off against the black #2 prospect (Paolo Banchero). At least, that's what the sports media hypes up. It's more likely that this becomes another Drew Timme clinic and the projected collegiate player of the year outshines all the 5-stars.

Syracuse is now underway against #19 Auburn on ESPN2.

it should be an entertaining game.

it was a high level game, but sadly our two featured players battled foul trouble much of the night. it still went down to the wire, and i think this physical contest will serve them well come March Madness.

just watched a very entertaining game with Iowa traveling to Virginia. it wasn’t decided until nanoseconds AFTER the buzzer, when Iowa’s long and athletic sophomore Patrick McCaffrey blocked a shot from Virginia’s starting center (the ball was in the air as the buzzer sounded).

Iowa isn’t as White as they were a year ago, but they still start 3 of our guys (including the aforementioned McCaffrey), with senior (and two-sport athlete; baseball) Connor McCaffrey and freshman sharpshooter Payton Sandforth playing key roles off the bench.

for Virginia, a freshman who had only attempted two shots in the Cavaliers first seven games, emerged as a key factor. Taine Murray, a 6-5 guard from New Zealand, was picked on in the first half but played FANTASTIC defense in the second half. then he got RED HOT on the offensive end, hitting 4 threes and totaling 14 points after halftime. look for him to emerge as a player to watch moving forward.

*********

speaking of emerging freshmen, Illinois, which had played an all-black rotation to begin the season, has had a White athlete emerge as a key contributor. Luke Goode, a legitimate scoring threat and plus defender, has carved out almost 20 minutes-per-game in three contests already this season. he comes from athletic roots; former nfl quarterback Trent Green is his uncle, and Ben Skowronek is a wide receiver for the Rams. it will be interesting to see how he fits into the ghetto locker room for the Illini as the season progresses.

Good news about Goode! He and fellow four star Brandin Podziemski are Brad Underwood’s first white recruits at Illinois. Hopefully they usher in a new era for the Illini now that their two “prominent recruiter” assistants flew the coop for Kentucky this offseason.

Thanks for the update Jimmy! Looks like Murray is going to be a good one.

Purdue continues it's winning ways. They are amazing to watch and should go deep into the tournament come March Madness.

Syracuse won a very close game in double overtime against Indiana tonight. This was a huge win against a very talented Hoosier Team.

Buddy Boeheim 27 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 steals.
Jimmy Boeheim 26 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal.
Joe Girard III 22 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals.
Cole Swider 14 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals.

Not bad for 4 whites guys starting all in the double digits scoring!

Was able to catch 2nd half and both the OTs! Glad Syracuse was able to come out on top.

For Indiana, Forward Miller Kopp added 28!

i was just coming to mention the Syracuse game, white lightning. you beat me to the punch on the scoring numbers for the Orange/Whitemen, so i’ll add a couple other notes.

Indiana was previously unbeaten (6-0), but obviously not any longer.

the Hoosiers only allowed one White athlete to see the floor, starting forward Miller Kopp. he scored 28 on 9-16 shooting (4-9 from three) and chipped in 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals.

to think in a basketball-mad state like Indiana with its large White population, to only have ONE White player getting minutes for the state university is hard to fathom.

Syracuse’s White athletes scored 89 out of their 112 points. Pretty awesome!

Has the basketball world ever seen two brothers starting on the same team that were both stars? Amazing players the Boheims are! :)

Tanner and Jacob Groves were impressive in defeat for Eastern Washington during last year's tournament opener. They both transferred to Oklahoma this year, although the younger Jacob is currently more of a sixth man than a star.

speaking of Tanner Groves, he scored a game-high 20 (on 8-11 shooting) and pulled down a team-high 8 rebounds to lead Oklahoma’s upset over #14 Florida.

for the Gators, senior forward Colin Castleton, the lone White athlete to see the floor for Florida, was their best player. shocking. he had game-highs of 11 rebounds and 4 blocks while chipping in 14 points, 1 steal, and an assist.

as far as upsets go, #12 BYU (who feature a lot of our guys) was on the wrong side of one, dropping an overtime thriller to Utah Valley. when you only shoot 31% from the floor and your opponent makes more free throws than you even attempt, you’re probably gonna get beat.

Wisconsin continues to find a way to win without a point guard. last night they fought off Georgia Tech behind Brad Davison’s toughness and scoring. Davison scored a team-high 27 (on 9-16 shooting and 5-9 from three), including 9 straight at one point in the second half. he is one of my favorite players in college basketball, because he is tough as a pine knot.

a couple more quick notes ... Colin Gillespie appears to be getting his explosiveness back from his knee injury a season ago. he led #6 Villanova to another win, going for a game-high 26 (9-15 shooting) against Penn.

the wheels may be coming off for Michigan. the preseason #6 Wolverines lost their third game already, this time getting blown out by an unranked North Carolina team that had lost two in a row. what may be most troubling is that Michigan isn’t getting the ball to their best player: Hunter Dickinson. perhaps someone closer to the situation can reveal whether the team is just playing really bad basketball or suffering from off court issues that are impacting performance.

Mark Turgeon out at Maryland! Danny Manning steps in as interim head coach after joining the staff earlier this year :buenrollo: . I can guarantee that no white players will lose their place in the rotation!

Turgeon was fairly effective coach apart from his odious caste practices. He's famous for not bribing AAU coaches and thus having to recruit almost wholly outside of the adidas/Nike AAU circuit. This seems like an abrupt resignation, so I'm wondering if he did a racism against his entirely black roster or perhaps showed impropriety to his entirely black recruiting board.

did anyone watch the Saint Mary’s-Utah State game? from the reports, i gather that it was a tough defensive struggle. i’m sorry to have been unable to see it.

Justin Bean, however, continues his tear. the talent but vastly underrated forward had game-highs of 19 points (7-13 shooting), 10 rebounds, and 4 steals, and he chipped in 3 assists with ZERO turnovers in 38 minutes. this dude is legit.

a quick follow up ... Iowa takes on #2 Purdue in about an hour. it should be a game that showcases a lot of our guys, although i think the Boilermakers are capable of blowing out the Hawkeyes if Iowa doesn’t share the ball effectively. looking forward to seeing a good game!

Has Kansas guard Christian Braun been mentioned here lately? He's listed at 6'6. Good size. He scored 20 on UTEP the other night and a career 31 points on St. Johns last Friday. I believe he's a junior. I don't watch a lot of basketball, but was checking scores and ran across this young man.
Also, saw where Gonzaga lost to Alabama the other night and a difficult time with Tarleton State.

Yes Jimmy Chitwood mentioned him. Haven't seen him play this year yet but he sounds like a lock to make the nba in the next draft. I'm sure he will be drafted way lower than
he should be hopefully once he is a pro he can prove all the doubters wrong again. The kid is very talented no to mention athletic.
