White starters from 2005 are 11,13,11,12,11,13,14,13,8,10,11,11,9,8, 9 ; last year 10.
This year up to 13!

Nebraska kicks off the season next Saturday afternoon the 28th vs. Illinois (RB Epstein?) ; was originally scheduled for Dublin Ireland
..........Was holding out hopefully maybe Jack Lambert or Shadowlight(did 2020 write up) would show up?

Scott Frost could be on the hot seat ; will his job depend on the inconsistent QB play from Adrian Martinez?
2nd team QB is Redshirt freshman Logan Smothers (Muscle Shoals Alabama) ; Luke McCaffrey transferred
Other back up QB's 6'-5" (Fr.) Heinrich Haarberg & Matt Masker

WR Oliver Martin hopefully has a break out season after transferring from Michigan & Iowa
2nd team .....WR 6'-4" (soph.) Wyatt Liewer(Walk on?) ; TE James Carnie; TE Travis Vokolek
Big time freshman TE Thomas Fidone is injured ; he is a future star when healthy .

The Cornhuskers have several walk-on RB's (Cooper Jewitt; Zach Weinmaster; Beau Psencik & Treven Luben); maybe one of those will surprise and get some carries? They also have several Walk-on WR's & DB's
.....Another Walk-on? Did he get scholarship yet? Brody Belt is a swiss army knife listed as a 3rd team WR. Would like to see him as a kick returner. And WR Levi Falck (South Dakota transfer)

Frost reputation is built around the offense; but the Defense that might help define Nebraska as it tries to climb back up to relevance. ; Front 7 consist of SIX white players....(a Snow patrol 4 LB corp) even with Projected starting LB - Will Honas Injured.

OFFENSE (7)
WR - Oliver Martin
TE - Austin Allen (6'-9" 255!)
LT - Turner Cocoran
LG- Ethan Piper
C - Cam Jurgens
RG - Matt Sichterman
RT - Bryce Benhart

DEFENSE (6)
DE - Ben Stille
DE - Ty Robinson (6'-6" 305)
OLB - Garrett Nelson

Frost’s Achilles heel is the blind loyalty to the overrated black quarterback. Otherwise this is a great team.

Great to see, there seems to be a fair number of teams this year holding the line or even increasing their number of starting overachievers.

I think the Huskers might be one of the best teams to watch in the country. Let's hope the defense holds ups and Martinez can live
up to the endless hype. So many guys on both sides of the ball to root for. I remember back in the day watching Frost when he was
a dual threat qb. I hope they play good and he gets to stay coaching at Nebraska. He is as fair to whites as any coach in the country!

I hope backup QB Logan Smothers gets worked into the odd series like Frost did with Luke McCaffrey last year. The only hint we've seen from Luke regarding a transfer reason has been his "role with the team." He was firm about wanting to stay at quarterback and received a generous amount of snaps for a backup underclassman, but also seemed to get more wildcat stuff called in the limited bit of Husker ball I saw. Abject speculation at this point, but perhaps Smothers started getting some second-team practice reps or just looked good enough to run the show down the road (I don't think he's played at all yet).

I'm afraid that Ourlads is overestimating Oliver Martin's place on the depth chart, but we shall see. On the plus side, receivers Levi Falck and Wyatt Liewer are both former walk-ons who were given scholarships over the summer. Hopefully, they all catch some of Martinez' infrequent complete passes.

Frost should go back to his roots and reinstall the I-formation option offence. Get a couple corn fed farm boys at fullback and go at it! Nobody else in the country runs that offence and it’s a bitch to prepare for once a year.

One of the best surprises this first half-weekend was Martin's 6-109-1 despite the heaving bum Martinez toting the rock exclusively. Martin was a 4-star stud out of high school who has been reduced to walk-on status. I admit I wasn't high on hopes for him.

Agreed. I had all but given up on Martin ever seeing the field. Pleasant surprise to see him finally find a college that utilizes him!

I agree with you both. I had Martin written off and nothing more than a bit player in the Nebraska offense. I am glad he proved me wrong. It was nice to see him eclipse 100 yds w/ a TD in his first real game action of his well traveled college career.

Definitely looks like Frost lost the locker room. I’m surprised to see Jo Jo is white! I wonder what the fall out will be from his comments?

Yeah the collegiate and nfl push for any non white quarterbacks has never been greater. Alot of the illegal border crossers will start suiting up the pads. They
get to keep their job despite what happens on the field. How Coach Frost can still play this kid makes no logical sense.

Mestizos are above Polys in the football privilege chart (considering the way he's been coddled, I doubt Martinez would ever be subject to the jerking around that Tua's getting in Miami).

Lol idk about that. Martinez is black not mestizo..

Also who the **** cares what happens to Tua? I've seen several posters complain about him getting done wrong.. Poly's are most overrepresented group in NFL based on their population.

As White Lightning said, a lot of illegal border crossers will start suiting up the pads. Look for slobbering (((media))) stories about them "overcoming wicked rayciss immigration/Border Patrol" or some crap like that. It'll be even more vomit-worthy than black sob stories, since blacks at least have the excuse that their ancestors were brought here against their will.

As for Tua, I have no personal emotions about him, just pointing out the hierarchy (he got picked over Herbert because of his race, now he's the target of "we want DuhShaun" because of HIS race). Polys may be the most statistically overrepresented group but the privilege hierarchy definitely goes black/mestizo --> Poly --> White.

There is a minuscule amount of polys in this country compared to black/mestizos and whites. They are definitely over represented especially in college which will lead to more pros. either way I bet there is a white player out there that is just as good in most situations.

Your last sentence captures it all!

Fair enough points @Jerry Reb .

Frost will be back. He has canned most of his offensive staff...will Adrian Martinez be held accountable as well? If not this may be the all time coddling of a black quarterback I can ever recall.

Nebraska HC Scott Frost has restructured his contract and will return for his fifth season with the team in 2022.

Frost was on the hot seat heading into 2021 after going 12-20 in his first three seasons with the team. Through 10 games this season, Nebraska is sitting at 3-7, with a 1-6 record in Big Ten play. Nebraska athletic director shared the news of Frost's re-worked deal on Monday, saying, "In my four months at Nebraska, I have closely observed our football team, and had several productive discussions with coach Frost." Alberts and Nebraska believe in the vision and plans that Frost has shared with the team over the last several months, and will now ride into 2022 with Frost at the helm barring any unforeseen circumstances. During Frost's tenure at Nebraska, the Cornhuskers have only been ranked in the AP top-25 once, and have not appeared in a bowl game.

Nebraska OC Matt Lubick has been dismissed from the team, a move announced shortly after the team shared that head coach Scott Frost would be returning in 2022.
Earlier today Nebraska announced that head coach Scott Frost would be returning in 2022 after having his deal with the university was re-worked. It appears that some casualties of the Frost extension may be offensive coordinator Matt Lubick along with offensive line coach Greg Austin, running back coach Ryan Held and quarterback coach Mario Verduzco. The sideline will be less crowded for Nebraska going forward, despite the team still having two games remaining on its 2021 schedule. Nebraska is currently 3-7 on the season, with a 1-6 record in conference play. Frost has a lot of re-tooling of his staff to do in a year that is likely to be an all-or-nothing season for him.

Me thinks Frost will continue to coddle Martinez. What the hell else has to happen for him to make a move? lol
