Let's see how each of these kids are portrayed by the Caste media at the combine in February! I can hear Faulk and E. Smith talking about their "lack of wiggle in their hips" (Code for being white in a "black" position).

I saw that too! The disappearance of the fullback is resulting in more and more excellent white athletes being moved to linebacker in college from the racially forbidden position of tailback. That's not the only factor of course, but it's part of the resurgence of the white linebacker.

Dizon and Connor both were successful running backs in High School, so I believe your theory about the diminished role of the white running back, has helped bolst the quality of linebackers.

I think you can tie USC's shortcomings directly to the injury marred season that Brian Cushing has had as well. He is right there with these 3 when healthy, which means its likely the top 4 LB's in the nation are White. Of course that won't stop the NFL from drafting guys like Keith Rivers ahead of them.

I was at golds gym a couple of days ago on the treadmill watching T.V and apparently ESPN has issues with the Butkus award nominees. They were questioning how one of the University of Southern Florida's linebackers was left of the list. I didn't have headphones on so I could not hear what was being said. Anybody happen to see that?

I think they were talking about Ben Moffit also an outstanding white linebacker on an almost entirely black team.

yes, Moffit is the best player on an otherwise coal-black defense. he is impressive.

it's interesting that the two best players on South Florida, which is nearly all black, are two white athletes... Moffit and running back-playing quarterback, Grothe.

The situation now is the reverse of what it used to be. In the early days of sports integration, teams were white dominated and the relatively few blacks that playedwere usually exceptional athletes. That was in many ways the main building block used to construct the Caste System and its accompanying mythology, i.e., since the few blacks that white Americans saw on television were usually stars, therefore all blacks must be great athletes.


In reality, most black athletes arefar fromexceptional, and there are many exceptional white athletes who get no chance at all in football, basketball and track. And there's a huge difference between the plight of the black athlete of 40 years ago and white athletes of today -- the entire weight of the media (and government, colleges, pro leagues, etc.) was used to "lift up" blacks in sports, often to ridiculously artificial heights; those same institutions are just as dedicated today to keeping whites "in their place" as second class athletes (and citizens).

Fans are so blind that they fail to see that nearly 100% of white players allowed to start in the NFL aren't merely good player, but great players. WR is best possible example of this...when a white WR starts, he nearly always will produce a huge receiving game (usually with limited opportunities).

This is also very evident in white defensive players, which are almost always the star defensive player on the team once they're allowed to start.

Believe it or not, I'm starting to see a little more fairness (in terms of race) in the past year or so in the NFL and college. It's almost as if the caste system can't keep these white men down, at least not all of them...

You're on to something there Don with the situations being reversed. Jared Allen is probably the best player on his team's defense, ditto for Aaron Kampman, Kyle Van Den Bosch, Brian Urlacher. Take a college team like Kansas St.: best offensive player: Jordy Nelson, defense: Ian Campbell. What do they have in common? Both white, both walk-ons. It's at the point now when I see a white starter, I know he MORE than earned the right to be there. White guys just have so much more to prove.

J Leman of Illinois is another guy to set our eyes on, probably won't be a 1st rounder, but will be an impact player for sure at the next level.

I've been wanting to make a similar post for some time. You are right on. The blanket assumption that blacks are better defensive players has lead to there being horrible all-black (or almost all-black) defenses. There just are not enough really good black defenders to go around. Hopefully, the light bulb will go on in some GM's and coach's heads and they will recruit and draft the best players, even if they do happen to be white. It's stupid to just assume that a black player is automatically better than a white one, even when the white player has performed better.

Wow, you're kidding me, Jordy Nelson was a walk on even with his blazing speed? I guess I shouldn't be surprised. It seems there are so many standout white WRs that are walk ons: Wes Welker, Kevin Curtis, Mike Furrey, Mike Hass etc, etc. (Or have to play Div. II David Kircus) Then most have to wait half a decade in the NFL to even get a chance at starting until an over the hill black who has lost his skills retires or black players leave via free agency.

This is great news about the Butkus Award finalists being white! I hope these things continue to happen, and at other positions as well.

Kampman and Allen are beasts. Howeever we should have many more Allen's and Kampman's in the NFL What the NFL is basically telling us is that these 2 guys are the only real stars the white population could produce at the postion. These are are 2 guys that somehow have the speed and strength to compete at the black dominated position. Please. So out of the roughly 5 times more whites in this country we are only putting out a few players at this position. DT is even worse. This is the NFL making fools out of us.
