Artur Abraham fought with a broken jaw and he had very poor mobility so he had to mostly block and duck. I agree no excuses; fight seemed to have been stopped no sooner than it really got started.

Yeah, Canelo has too much power for Plant. I wish they could just set up the real fight, Beterbiev vs Canelo, but there is money to be made, and they have to let Beterbiev age out.

I didn’t watch this one unfortunately but I have to be honest, my interest in watching Canelo has gone down quite a bit. He’s shredding through all these fighters at 168 and the fights aren’t really competitive or fun to watch. Nobody at 168 can beat him and he knows this. It’s a weird situation because he seemingly can make any weight he wants but the reality is he belongs at light heavy or maybe even cruiser weight. If he’s not willing to go up to 175 or above and fight the big boys then I probably won’t be tuning in.

Just watched the replay. BJS was quite competitive and after 7 rounds. It can be argued that it was an even fight. Some on the DAZN broadcast had BJS up by two rounds. But I knew in the second half, there would be an "a come to Jesus moment" and it happened with Canelo fracturing BJS eye socket in the 8th. If indeed BJS had a fractured eye socket at least go out for one more round to see if he could tolerate the pain of getting hit on it or impossible due to loss of vision. When Canelo brought the storm in round 9, BJS could have taken a knee to end the onslaught. No one would criticize him for that. Canelo right now unbeatable and PFP fighter so far in 2021.

Its been reported that BJS sustained multiple fractures to his eye socket, a complete blow out of the orbital bone. Scheduled for surgery today. I Hope he will make a full recovery. I not sure where he goes from here. He has no KO power at 168 lbs. Maybe go back to 160 lbs.

When fighting a shorter fighter, with less reach, do not gift your opponent a target. BJS did just that. In the eighth he was waist-bobbing and bobbed into a left-to-the-body punch but he took it to the head. Canelo is a master of that punch. It is one of the first punches a Mexican is taught. Don't know why BJS used that tactic when he was doing fine hitting at distance. Like West wrote, he may have to earn his keep at 160.

I figured Canelo must have really hurt Saunders for him to throw in the towel. Valiant effort for BJS but agreed he should have fought longer and at distance. Kept diving in to the counter punches does not help. We'll see if Plant can make it past 8.

Here is an interview with his pops, he looks like a typical Brit. I only am showing this because a few hours ago I had Indian looking gypsies try and scam me out of X dollars for fake gold. I instantly knew they were scamming because of their ethnic look and I know of that scam.

Note to posters and lurkers if somebody tries to sell you gold on the street with gold at 1800 an ounce every pawn shop, cheque cashing store, jeweler and bullion dealer is buying gold. There is no need to sell the gold on the side of the road.
