The supposed knock on Jimmy G is that he was missing open throws or making the correct reads. Not sure am fcs qb with one year of experience and 1 game this year in which he complete only 50% of his passes is the answer. Lynch and shanahan are screw balls
That seems to have been a big factor in their decision, could pretty much see it coming with all the contrived controversy over the first three picks being White QBs.

The NFC west is now a three black quarterback conference. The replacement of Jimmy g with a black qb goes right with the agenda being pushed. It’s a shame Bosa is on the team, Kittle too.
Durability has been his bugaboo, healthy for only 31 of 64 games since the 49ers traded for him.
Booger did say the "49ers need to keep Jimmy G. He gives the team the best chance to win" . He said "Trey Lance is not ready and must improve his accuracy".

I agree - he has been disappointing in that regard. Amazing to see Goff and Jimmy G essentially written off after recent super bowl appearances though.

The blackout has started in Cleveland. I hope Mac Jones is way better than this Trey did. I think the 49ers gave in to the pressure.

Aaron Rodgers upped his game big-time last year after the Packers took a QB in the first round, maybe Jimmy will do the same. Lance didn't play much at all at NDSU and there's no guarantee of how he'll do in the NFL.

But it speaks to the black quarterback hype machine that playing one year at an FCS schools has elevated him to the third overall pick. He is also getting Josh Allen comparisons - another fine example of a black player receiving the favorable comparison to a white player when the inverse never occurs.

He opted out of last season. Must be nice to have that upside and know you're still going to get paid. Lance played 1 game last year and Sewell who I mentioned also opted out and will likely be a Top 10 pick LOL
