Like most Chicagoans, I have been celebrating the death of Dollar Bill Wirtz. I like to believe that he din't die, but demons from hell rose out of the ground and dragged him to hell.

With his passing, who would be considered the worse team owner in Sports? Off the top of my head, I would say the owners of the Baltimore O's, or the Detroit Lions.

I think it has to be a neck and neck race between Donald T. Sterling (L.A. Clippers) & Bill Bidwell (Arizona Cardinals). I always thought Georgia Frontiere was pretty evil with the way she dismantled the Rams, drove off the fanbase and then moved the team off to St. Louis. Also, as a Vikings fan I have a lot of disdain for Zygi Wylf, who has consistently left a ton of cap space on the table instead of investing in the team.

Dan Snyder for the 'Skins. Great businessman, but a bad owner who's dazzled by stars.

The Nuttings, owners of the Pirates, deserve to be mentioned with the worst of them. Fifteen straight losing seasons and counting, no North American pro team in the four major sports has ever had a longer losing streak.

Chris Cohen, owner of the GS Warriors, at least according to Sports Illustrated,Oct. 2002 issue.

It was an "Overrated/Underrated" piece, comparing "Worst Owner". The two owners compared were Cohen and Dan Snyder. It says that Snyder,as bad as he is,at least "tries" to win, whereas Cohen does everything possible to keep his team from winning.

It's from SI;not exactly reliable,but,who knows.

Wayne Huizenga - purchased the 1997 world series for the Florida Marlins and after the rentals were up, dismantled them and became worse than a first year expansion team.

Nutting Family - 15 straight years of losing seasons for the Pirates and don't look to reverse that anytime soon. Poor ownership like this is why baseball needs both a salary cap and a salary floor.

Bill Bidwell - The Arizona Cardinals have had how many winning seasons? However, I don't know if they ownership is the problem or if its just that franchise is simply cursed.

Bill Wirtz - luckily has passed away but has done more to destroy hockey in Chicago than any owner has in any major city. What kind of idiot doesn't even broadcast their teams own games?

Dean/Alex Spanos - constantly threatening to move the Chargers to LA if the citizens of San Diego don't pony up and build them a new stadium (why the hell should taxpayers have to pay for this?) Not to mention, their team was abysmal up until maybe 3 years ago.

Jeffery Loria - conspired with Bud Selig to move the Expos out of Canada and then bailed and bought the Florida Marlins (him and Selig should have been charged under the RICO act)
