Hey you guys, I was looking at the little, 100ths of a second thing under Teeters' official time on Track and Field News (9.995), and from a very, picky, technical standpoint, he did break the 10 second barrier. Hoping for good conditions for his next race. He said in an interview (he gave while the indoor season was still on) that he had dropped some weight and was focusing more on speed endurance this season. So even though his indoor times weren't quite as good as those of the previous season, he was still able to PB in the 100. I'm hoping he peaked at the right time, and circumstances will set up to push him even a little harder tomorrow.

Well he certainly had good (legal) conditions with a almost to the limit 1.9 wind so let's hope he didn't shoot his wad to just make into the final. Who would have thought based on this seasons outdoor races up till now. He's had the great fortune to have no less than a 1.9 wind in all his seasonal best (legal) times since 2012. He's also had the misfortune to have some sub 10's with over the limit wind that might have pushed his legal personal best closer to 10.00 previously.
Congratulations to John and here's hoping he joins the sub-10 second club tomorrow, after all he's teetering on the edge *moan*

if Prandini had a better start, I cannot imagine how much faster she would be in the 100m, her knee lift is phenomenal. Aside from slow starts her form is awesome to watch as is Schippers form, both very fluid. Not like the PEDfletes they compete against. Gardner is like watching an MMA fighter trying to phsyc the other person out with all the sneers and gangsta facial expressions lol Glad to hear Teeters hit 10 flat legal...hope he doesn't calf tomorrow.

Cheers.....

FYI I watched a 13 y old kid at a local track meet here run a 24.60 1.2 200m. I was quite impressed with his form throughout the race. Here in Canada kids cannot use actual blocks until 14 years old so this makes it even better as he did it from a standing start.

White lightning,
A miracle occurs when the delivered outcome is one that could not have been imagined, or rationally expected by any means. John Teeters does not need a miracle today. He is doing exactly what he is capable of under good conditions (fast track, fast competition, good weather). If you can forget the color of his skin then it becomes very clear that he is following a common trajectory that will likely take him to the 9.8s this year assuming he stays healthy and he gets in the fast meets on fast tracks. Because he has become the first white american to go sub 10 it is reason to celebrate, but lets not call it a miracle. The underlying belief of that would be that it shouldn't have happened. White athletes around the globe dont need that kind of praise. They deserve better. Plus its simply not true.

told you guys he would do it ;-)

I think you took what I said the wrong way. I know Teeters deserves to be there. So do most if not all of us at this board. I don't doubt that he can go sub 10. He hasn't done it yet since the time was rounded up. I only doubt that he can challenge for medals at this moment. If he continues to imporve who knows how fast he can be. No one thought Schippers would be one of the fastest women in the world just 2 years ago. Look at what she has done. John Teeters is only 21/22 so maybe he can become an elite sprinter. I would love to see it but he is not quite there yet. He is close but he will have to go sub 10 on a regular basis and do it with or without the wind. I hope he breaks his p.b. again today and makes the team. I will go crazy with excitement if he does.

Teeters blasts out and leads the race for 70m and then comes in last. Not sure what happened. He pulled up and didnt even bother to lean at the end.

A little disappointed in his performance, and more disappointed that he just gave up altogether at the end. I think I remember him doing that in a race last year.
Anyway, if he had run as fast today as he did yesterday, he would be in the final. Shame.

Very sad about Teeters. Pressure will make people tightnen up and then you lose your
speed. It also could have been an injury. Who knows but I'm very happy he ran a p.b. yesterday.
John Teeters is the fastest white american sprinter ever to compete for the U.S.

On a positive note, Jen Prandinni won her heat in a wind aided time of 10.86 so she made the finals. Good
luck to her later tonight!

Prandini looked great!
But so did 3 other girls. I think she's got a 50-50 chance to finish in the top 3 and make the Olympic team.
We'll find out in 10 or 15 minutes.
Fingers crossed!

Prandini didn't look as sharp in the final, as in her heats.
She just seemed to lack a gear, and came in 5th.
But the 200m is her best event, so let's see what she can do there.

Sad to see both Teeters and Prandini not progress. I hope Prandini makes it to Rio in the 200m, Teeters seemed run out of gas at 70m or he was shocked he was ahead. I will say he is not very efficient with his upper body, runs very tight chest/shoulders with a bit too much head movement. He definitely has what it takes to run with these guys and he will be back. ROFLMAO at Gardner after the race, at least she knows what color to thank lol It seems the majority of the USA Olympic bound team will be composed of juiced up blacks, even women's high jump is composed of 3 dark skinned women. Sad..... Rupp looks great as does Molly Huddle, they are both serious medal threats in the 10,000m.

Cheers

Teeters is extremely muscle bound and is carrying about 15# more weight these past two seasons. There have been some muscle monsters who've carried their weight through multiple round competitions, but they've been smooth running technicians (e.g. Maurice Green). John doesn't run, he barrels down the track and needs help in developing his running technique. Maybe we could send him to train in France under Caraz and become Christophe's American buddy. Just kidding though it could start another "hate Caraz forum."

Ok it's only a Kodak moment, but let's dissect the rolling shoulders, and that foot placement, and it isn't a pretty picture that shows he has work to do, and room for improvement.

His form leaves alot to be desired but damn does he have power. Reminds me a little of Shirvo. He looks
a little bit like Mike Alstott the former running back in the NFL. Hope he can find the right coach and
continue his career. I would hate to see him give up track. That would be horrible.

Does anyone have video of the 10.00 race by Teeters? I can't find it anywhere? Thanks guys.

Yah I think if he had "competent" coaching for the last 4-5 years alot of these technical problems wouldn't exist. Sound like the same problem as another one of our "great white hopes" CL. If Teeters keeps pronating he is gonna hurt those knees eventually. In the picture he does not seem to be anymore muscled (upper body) than the darkie in the picture but his thighs are crazy. When you think of it 10(9.95) with all these technical issues is crazy talented...Fix these issues get him the coach he needs chances are he will put 10 behind him quickly and close in on CL's 9.92.

Cheers...

P.s. watched the heats then semi's and the dumbass announcers(Bolden and some halfbreed dude) had no idea who Teeters was and when they went over key people to watch in semi's he wasn't even mentioned. You could see and hear the bias instantly. It seemed they were both hoping he did poorly.

What frustrates me was that John Teeters was soooo close to battling for 3rd place on the team. A PR in the mid 9.9's would have gotten him past the semi-finals. Repeating it in the Finals would have let him beat Marvin Bracy. Cleary, John is 10 flat runner. He just needs to up his game to the 9.9 realm. He has one more year at OSU to build up more top end speed. Yes his form clearly desires improvement. But the muscle strength is an asset. The only way any sprinter (under 6 ft) can get under 10 flat is to bulk up on the upper body strength. And no, this is not a endorsement of PED's. Many of these sprinters going under 10 (like Vicaut) get their through upper body workout and strength training. It's just the way it is. Either through muscle or tallness is the key to getting under 10 flat. And John Teeters has both.

did Gemili and Talbot both make it to Rio in the British 200m? If I am not too daft, it seems 2 whites won the womens 400m Diamond and Bundy Davis went 1/2

White man and woman end up winners in the 800m final, a somewhat better day than yesterday. Watching the 5000m semis, a bit surprised to see Rupp struggle to make the final, and also noticed the assortment of Kenyan and Ethiopian vermin running under the U.S. flag, where the **** did these people come from?

Great thing watching that women's 800m final, that negress with that stupid flower in her ear fell down and took a Latina down with her, too bad Ludlow couldn't take advantage.

I just read an article about Teeters, and he was described as "ex-OSU sprinter"
So no more collegiate racing for him.

Anyone here know Teeters on social media? If so, ask him about his plans. It would be a shame if he stopped. He has made steady non-steroidal improvement every year I've followed him. He can still tighten up his form and increase his speed endurance. More big race experience will get him over that tightening up thing he does.

Well, bummer. If Teeters was a senior, then he better star clubbin. Here's a thought on why white college sprinters rarely progress on the next phase of professional runner. Their seems to be a unspoken belief that if a white athlete hasn't broken a certain time barrier, they quit and find something else to do, not all, but most. Example for the 100m, none of them have crossed the 10.0 second. The only one that did Christoher Lemaitre has stuck it out. A few that have come close like Julius Reus, Matt Shirvington, Matic Osoviknar, Jared Connaughton are usually national favorites, but Matt Bruno, Kevin Little disappear. The 200m is a similar story, if American white sprinter doesn't make under 20.0, like Jordan Boase, Brandon Byram, Sam Watts, they give up. And finally, the 400m, Jeremy Wariner is the only one under 44s and certainly did stick it out as long as he could. But the rest like Brady Gehret, Aaron Rock fall off the face of the earth if they hit the wall. This is my fear is that Teeters, having come so close, folds up his arms and goes onto something else. Why the all or nothing attitude? Where is the perseverance after college?

IMO its a lack of a cutthroat attitude across the board with white athletes, middle class existence, education, somewhat moralistic/idealistic. Guys like Cushing or Romanowksi, to take two of my fave players, have no qualms about doing whatever it takes to be the best, which means hopping on the gas.

For whatever reason white western athletes in the modern era are reluctant to do so. Its not just genetics as there would be African sprinting champions, its an organised drug program and being part of one, for whatever reason, pockets of Eastern European soviet style leftovers aside, they are not, by and large, imo.

There seems to be a cultural acceptance and belief in the steroid monkey, jumping and sprinting, while whites gawp and belive they are natural but for white athletes they do not have the balls to do whatever it takes to win.

10 seconds and 45/44 in the 200 is doable on naturally, it takes drugs to go below that
