I had a black friend call me out of the blue on Saturday and tell me that Rampage was going to win. It's funny because we NEVER talk MMA. You can bet they were all feeling it on Saturday.

One thing in life is certain, whether it's sports, politics or American Idol. Blacks always root for fellow blacks and are never afraid to stick it in our facesopenly and passionately. I'm sure Chuck also had a good percentage of whites hoping he'd lose.

You know who I really feel bad for in all this? That poor waitress who had to wait on those animals. Just imagine the verbal and physical abuse that she probably endured, not to mention getting a sh*tty tip (if any at all).

All that yellin' & struttin' and shuckin' and jivin'...It was like watching the orangutans at the local zoo go completely ape-sh*t during mating season.

Ground Fighter, using an asterisk doesn't make that word acceptable.

But I tell you what, I didn't give it much thought before I saw that, but now I really, reeeeeally want to see Jackson get beat. And I'll be just as happy as those guys were. I cannot wait. Edited by: JD074

I agree. A crappy tip or paltry tip would have been more acceptable.Only kidding.

Please don't violate the spirit of the banning of the n-word on this forum. Remember that we have very sensitive white people stopping by on a regular basis that would go screaming into the night if they were to read that word or even a reasonable facsimile thereof.

I am reminded regularly by posters that it is possible that polite shy white sports fans may in some small measure agree that whitey is getting the shaft (use of whitey is OK) but will recoil in horror if we insinuate that blacks are anything but very nice white people with real dark tans.

So refrain from using the consonant "n" followed by any punctuation symbols, such as * , and especially ! , with an ending that combines "g's" "r's" and "e's". Also subsitutes such as "black" although used commonly by blacks is verboten, as is "nigra", and we are also very suspicious of regular use of the word "negro" although our lawyers have not recommended banning that word----yet.

As always this post is written completely tongue in cheek and carries no weight what-so-ever. The forum owner is the final say on this issue but he may get spooked if you attempt to call a spade a spade.

I don't mean to be a Boy Scout. I genuinely believe that using language like that is bad for the site. That's all. Nothing more, nothing less.

I don't follow MMA, but I can give the black reaction: its not a 'real' sport until one of their own is the best. Keep the faith; after all, Spike Lee told me I'd never see a white heavyweight champion in my lifetime. Someone wlll come along soon and knock this clown on his ass.

I edited my post. Now, is everybody happy?

I tend to get a bit hostile when I picture some poor White girl (probably in college) trying to do her job, and then have some bunch of thugs sexually harrass her while she works. I tend bar part time, so beleive me, I've seen what blacks are really like when they have one too many Hennesseys or Congacs. Especially if the individual waiting on them is a White female.

Personally, I think that particular group of idiots in that video deserved the "n" word. But, I agree with you guys. Using language like that is not the best thing for this site or our cause in general. It just gives our opposition one more reason to call us hatemongers and racists. So, to make everybody happy, I changed the wording. I didn't mean to go that far overboard...I just got caught up in my emotions. It happens.

Thanks, Ground Fighter, I appreciate it. And thanks for not taking it personally. It's great that we can have disagreements and be civil about it.

I know where you're coming from. Believe me, I have plenty of extremely emotional and angry reactions. When I saw that horrifying video of that black guy punching a 100 year old white woman in the face three or four times and then robbing her, there were plenty of "politically incorrect terms" flying out of my mouth! And again a few weeks later when I saw footage of a black man beating up a 72 year old man when trying to carjack him. That sort of thing sets off a primal response that I simply cannot control. But that happens in the privacy of my living room. That's my private property, where I can say whatever I want. At the same time, I do my best to keep that anger off of Don's private property. I can tell that you see it that way, too.

I agree with the premise behind this topic, but really, who is surprised blacks wanted rampage to win? I'm even less surprised how they acted after the fight. When have blacks, in general, ever handled winning with any class whatsoever?

cutty,
I wasn't surprised, and I doubt any of our regular members were surprised, either. But it was related to another topic (expanding the UFC into Hispanic and 'urban' markets,), and racism in MMA is a popular subject on other MMA message boards.

Not to mention it helps sometimes to be reminded of the way things really are, that it isn't mere rhetoric or hype.
