Jim Mora Fired

Jim Mora was fired today, in large part, for his ignorance that their quarterback was killing the team. Of course, that will not be in the official press release but it's the truth.

In their last game against Philly, Michael Vick sprained his right ankle on the first play of the third quarter and was replaced by Matt Schaub.

Vick was 8/14 for 81 yards and 1 TD.
Schaub was 15/21 for 175 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT.

Not too bad for coming off the bench cold. Schaub played just under half the game and had more than TWICE the yards!

Let this be a lesson for future coaches.

The Cards let Green go today as well.

I'm sure Mora was fully aware of Vick's shortcomings as a quarterback. Mora's father made the - coach killer - comment, so apparently father and son discussed the problem between each other. Arthur Blank , the owner of the team, is the culprit responsible for the circus in Atlanta.

Great news to start off the new year.

i dont really look at it that way. It was painfully obvious that Mora wasnt the problem in Atlanta, but rather their darker hued joke of a QB. Mora was just the scapegoat. He was fired, while the real culprit remains employed

The Mora's new that Jim jr's fate was sealed unless Coldlanta got on a hot streak and squeaked into the playoffs. They know the political machinations of openly complaining about the owners favourite son on public talk radio.

It seems like Mora is a smart guy, so that makes more sense to me. Blank wants to get fans in the stadium and Mora wants to win games. Vick will be a big draw in Blacklanta.

It funny how all of these black college quarterbacks are praised for their running ability and not much is said about their passing. Call it the Vick effect!

Did Arthur Blank father illegitimate children in the Newsport Beach area of Virginia?

This could be the reason why he has such father son relationship with Ron Mexico. He could be another Strom Thurmond.....

ESPN's Len Pasquarelli wrote this disgusting drivel regarding Ron Mexico...

But mostly, the new coach must be someone who can conjure a way to harness the confounding genius of quarterback Michael Vick, a great athlete and an even greater enigma.</font>

That fact that no one even suggests finding a replacement for Vick shows just how deep the caste system has become engrained in the NFL culture.

Atlanta must find coach to fix Vick

He actually wrote that??? HAAAAA!!! What an ass.

How do you tell your sons that you are a man when you write crap like that??? HAAAAA! You've got to know those other ESPN guys are just dying to tell it like it is, but are too scared for their jobs. It's like living under Stalin, Castro or Saddam. When the tyrants give a speech, you can't be the first person to stop the clapping because it will show your lack of commitment and then the gulag awaits. Same damn thing with Michael Vick. If anyone criticizes him, they are playing with their livlihoods. Freakin' crazy!

I truly feel bad for those guys at ESPN. Watching every word that comes out of their mouths to make sure no black gets offended.

You sold your soul boys, and you gave up your freedom for it. Hope it's worth it.

At this point, what can the Falcons do about Vick? With all that money invested in him, how can they get bench him? You know with that contract he's not going to sit the bench. He still sells jerseys (Why? I'll never know..) They need to trade Schaub while they can still get something for him, and I do think they have to try one more coach who can try to find a way to make Vick a successful quarterback. I don't think it's that ridiculous that people are clamoring for a coach who can adjust to Vick.. I just want them to deal Schaub so he can be a good QB elsewhere..

I understand what you are saying,I respectfully disagree. MORA should have had the guts to bench vick and start MATT SCHAUB.then the falcons would have won more games and Mora would have kept his job but HIS nuthugging of VICK cost him his job.Mora is the coach and he should call the shots. There were so many instances to bench vick and start MATT SCHAUB this past season but he ignored them.As far as I am concerned he got what he deserved.Hopefully Jeff Fisher will get his soon too.

Boomer Esiason's comment re: the Mora firing:

Jim Mora -- So I guess he and Michael Vick don't have that great relationship after all, as Vick appears to be the one running that franchise. Mora will go to the Super Bowl before the Falcons do.

There's no way Mora could not have realize how sh**** Vick is. There
must
be some pressure - orders - to keep Vick at the helm. There's
no other explanation. I don't Mora was scared to do so, I don't think he
could have done it without being drawn and quartered. If the team does
well, Vick will get any and ALL credit. If they do poorly, the coach, any
coach, will be left high and dry with all the blame, because how could
anyone fail when they have Vick's 'confounding talent' on hand? I never
expected Mora to make any kind of difference offensively when he took
the job, as I never believed he'd be able to sit Vick's useless azz on the
bench for his ridiculously poor abilities as a QB.

The best thing would be for Atlanta to hire a black coach!

Though I
doubt you'll see that happen - for obvious reasons, think of the
'possibilities'. Then again, maybe you'd see a lot of rigged results. Edited by: Colonel Callan

Almost every blurb I see in reference to the search for a Falcons coach is worded in a complimentary fashion towards Vick.

"The Falcons need to find a coach that can utilize Vick's great talents"

Vick makes too much to be benched. He would have to play 10 times worse then he has been to be replaced. It just won't happen. Also he is the number one guy in fan purchases. He is the "face" of the NFL (which makes me want to never watch again).

The lone bright spot is that we'll have this clown to kick around for another 10 years. He is, after all, castefootball's public enemy no. 1.

He wins my MHP (Most Hated Player) Award every year, that's for sure. No one gets the love and respect from the media the way this guy does, and no one deserves it less.Edited by: White Shogun

I think Wizzenhunt(sp) gets this job. Vick will cause him to go back to being an O-coordinator shortly thereafter. Vick would be perfect as a Randle El style gimmick QB...

I couldn't agree more. Commentators love to kiss his ass and talk about how fast he is out of the pocket. And when they're not talking about that, they usually compliment him on how strong his throwing arm is.lolIt doesn't matter if he can throw the ball 100 yards, because he still can't hit a target ten feet in front of him. He's

This just goes to show you how borderline-retarded you average football fan is. Especially the White fans.

I remember being in Modell's when I was a kid, and my dad took me there to buy me a jersey for the Giants game that were going to. This was like fifteen years ago, so I was like 9. I picked up a Lawrence Taylor jersey, and said, "Dad, I like this one".He goes, "No, I don't think so", and then hands me a Phil Simms jersey instead. lol. True story.

Unlike a lot of kids today, I had a strong-minded father to set me straight everytime I "wandered off-course".Edited by: Ground Fighter

Yes,one of tiny few true criticisms that have not been labled politically incorrect, has been the criticism of vicky,as a Coch Killer.

Yet,for some reason,no one used that name when Mora was fired.

Jim Mora, Sr, labeled Vick a 'coach killer' earlier in the season. But I haven't heard anyone in the MSM use it yet. Edited by: White Shogun
