I think Lemaitre should no show for the semis.
As far as I can tell from the results from the heats, he has no chance of advancing.
He should save himself the energy and stress, and just focus on the 200m.

Heat ?

Sure, in the first race, the temperature was 17°c and in the last race 31°c LOL

Your knowledge are better than scientists or IAAF, i'm impressed LOL

"The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) acknowledges the effect of a tailwind by setting strict criteria – a time run in a tailwind greater than 2 ms[SUP]-1[/SUP] cannot count for record purposes. The effects of wind on the time for a 100 m sprint has been discussed in journal papers and at conferences and they generally agree that a tailwind of 2ms[SUP]-1[/SUP] improves a time by about 0.1 s"

RCSMAN, I do not believe in attacking other members or name calling, but I have to make an exception here. You are truly in an idiot, with dozens of pages of useless comments on Lemaitre to prove it. It's quite unbelievable.

He has zero chance of advancing to the finals, he'll be running from one of the outside lanes and will probably finish 7th or 8th. I agree, drop now and focus fully on making the 200m final. No chance of a medal there, either, but at least making the finals is still somewhat of an accomplishment.

It's sad how far we have fallen. I remember lurking on this board 3-4 years ago, and we all expected great things from Lemaitre by now. But instead, we'd be happy if "he can just get to the finals". Well, I'm not happy. Poor coaching has ruined what was once a promising career.

When i said 'heats' I meant the races before the semi-final and final races.
These preliminary races are called 'heats'.

I didn't see the race, but it does not seem that Lemaitre ran well in his heat (race), and would gain nothing by running the next 100m race. I think he should drop out now from the 100m, and focus on the 200m.

Besides the temperature, In Lemiatres Heat, the humidity levels were 2% less and the barometric pressure was rising from the east meaning we should knock off .6 off the time...so technically, with wind, temp, if Lemaitre used less gel in his hair (which added weight), he would of run a real time of 9.7- 9.8
Ah the Training of the Great Pierre Carraz!

I think a world class athlete should be able to run both events just like he did in 2011 when he reached the final in both events (100m & 200m)

Just watched the race on TV.
Lemaitre looked very sluggish in the first half of the race.
Sven Knipphals of Germany was right with him until the last 20 meters or so.
That's right Sven Knipphals running almost level with Lemaitre. That tells you something right there.

Lemaitre will be in lane 2 of his semi. Julian Reus in lane 1. Bingtian Su in lane 5. Usain Bolt in lane 7.
I think Reus will give Lemaitre a run for his money, and I think Su will beat him.
But Bolt, Bromell, and De Gasse will be the contenders for places in the final. Not Lemaitre.

Meanwhile Kilty will run between Vicaut and the Iranian Hassan Taftian. I am interested to see how he does in that mini race, while Vicaut, Asafa Powell, and Tyson Gay battle it out for places in the final.
Kilty didn't look too bad in his heat. I wonder if he can get pulled to a sub-10 in the semi tomorrow morning.

you're a LIAR, i never said that Lemaitre could run in final.
I said after his injury, TOP 12 in 100M and top 5 in 200M would be correct for him .

You are new in this forum and you lie and you insult me. LOL

you are ELISPEEDSTER's clone LOL

"never thought we would see him regress for this many year" NO REGRESSION FOR LEMAITRE IN THE LAST YEARS except 2014 !
"Coaching, climate and inadequate training partners." WHAT ?
" but a finish in the top 5 in the deuce would still be ok considering all of his injuries this summer." TOP 5 in 100M in World championship with "bad training", "bad coach", "regression", injury etc, etc

a elite sprinter with a bad coach, bad training runs in 10.30, he 's not in TOP TEN or TOP FIVE in the world.

For me, christophe in TOP 12 in 100M and TOP 5 in 200M would be correct after his injury, he's not 100%

So you are a LIAR, CRAZY FINN :)

Lemaitre 10.20 and Julian Reus 10.28.
Kind of sad.
I was also way off about Kilty. He also ran 10.20.
Very anti-climatic.

YOU ALL KNOW NOTHING OF SPRINT!!!!!!!!!

P I E R R E C A R R A Z

Christophe needs to change his entire staff, it's no more about Carraz or not Carraz, he just needs fresh air, another look at his career, changing his city of Aix les Bains to another place, away from his cocoon.. a new start! everybody does it and sometimes major coaches who won big titles with their athletes are changed in order to progress..

Honestly, I think you are all just a bunch of ignorant xenophobes who know nothing of sprint. This is not a video game!
Christophe has made much progress the last 4 years, it is just a coincidence he has not produced those times on the track. BUT BUT IT WILL COME! YOU SHALL SEE!

It is now clear that in the last 4 years, Christophe has be running with a giant ingrown pimple on his ass. this is why he has not run fast, but he has made much progress in training...he has increased his squat jump with 15 pound dumbbells, his clean with 95 pounds, and his cone running has been superb!
