What was the starter count for the game? I saw Arizona announce a coal defense with room brightening smiles ... but missed the other intros.

More should be made of the cardinals terrible pick of Logan Thomas in the 4th round. That pick has come back to bite the cardinals. Mettenberger was an ideal fit for that offense and he actually played really well for a bad Titans team. Thomas proved through out college he was inaccurate and in limited playing time has shown no improvement in accuracy.

They could also have drafted Tom Savage in the fourth round. Both Savage and Mettenberger were far better prospects than Thomas who, to me, was a guy you take in the seventh or sign in free agency. Savage and Mettenberger were way underdrafted.

I couldn't believe it when they passed on both Mettenberger and Savage to draft Thomas. Talk about "Affirmative" Action!

Derek Carr was a perfect fit as well. It would be farfetched to say that Arizona would be a Super Bowl team if they went from Palmer to Carr, but they'd be in much better shape headed into this game.

The Cardinals could have and should have taken Carr with their first round pick. I was surprised when they passed on him.

Thanks - I thought I counted 6 palefaces for Carolina. But I would still rather have Scam lose.

Gruden and Turico keep making excuses for Newton. Both made the preposterous claim that his fundamentals are off because of the injuries he's had. His fundamentals have always been bad, especially his ability to read defenses and throw accurately. They must have mentioned his injuries a dozen times or more already.

If Carolina wins it's because of "Superman," if they lose it's because of his injuries.

Not to mention, his O-line has given him all the time in the world and he still can't get it together.

Carolina is going to win after a missed DPI call and then a TD thanks to 3 obvious holds... Fumble doesn't help.

I'm done with this goddamn game, refs are clearly favoring Carolina.

They did the same thing during the Carolina Philly MNF game last month. It was disgusting to watch. They just kept going on and on about his non existent injuries in order to excuse his poor play . That's how they get people drinking the koolaid

At least Carolina has some weapons on offense and might have a tiny chance of making a game out of it in Seattle. AZ would get summarily destroyed. You can't win playoff games with practice squad QBs.

The last thing we need is for the "legends" of Wilson and Lynch to grow any further. Seattle tends to have tougher match-ups with defensive oriented, physical teams. If AZ still had Carson Palmer they would be a very formidable opponent.

As bad as that might be it's better than the legend of sCam growing larger

Congrats to Larry Fitzgerald, who finally managed to get open and catch a pass (for about 11 yards) with Colin Jones covering him.

Jones has 4 tackles, 1 great one for a loss.

From a CF perspective I really have no dog in the Ravens vs Steeler coal fight. Mostly negro, White QB on both teams and White TEs that can catch on both. I guess if a gun was placed to my skull I would want the Ravens, even though fruit bat is on that team. Is there something I am missing?

Out of 44 defensive starters playing today, Luke Kuechly is the only White one -- 1 out of 44. And he just happens to be the best of the 44. And backup Colin Jones is maybe as good as any DB who will start today. But there's no agenda, no Caste System in U.S. sports.

In the Panther's stands I think I saw more people wearing Kuechly jerseys than Newton ones.

You are right he is still playing like a high school quarterback who is the biggest/strongest guy on the field. He had a bit of resurgence late in the season because he got relatively healthy but he is still the same player who can't win games without his ability to run like a fullback but is one big hit away from the IR. I also wonder if he is doing an imitation of Hulk Hogan hobbling around, because the minute the game was out of reach his limp and stiffness ended and he became a sideline version of Fireman Ed.......

Arizona was overmatched and played poor on defense - the usual issue of the inability to tackle reared its head on the AZ defense. Scam wasn't impressive, he threw a 1 yd td pass and a 1 yard screen pass the RB took to the end zone due to no tackling by the defense for a 39 yd score.

Where was AJ Klein? Colin Jones is becoming one of my fav players - he takes no **** and is a true talent.

Yes, I noticed the same thing - the limp disappeared. lol Limp will be back as soon as the next game starts - or he starts having problems with the defense he's facing. Talk about high school; I don't know which is more irritating. KNOWING how overrated Newton is, knowing he's a fraud or watching the other game and having to listen to scripted jock sniffing, like Collinsworth falling all over Suggs a few minutes ago. It's as if they've been told to crank up the undeserved praise because so much of America is getting a taste of TNB with all the fun going on in Ferguson, Chicago, NYC...

Other people do notice, I've seen remarks on other boards (not sports boards) and guys there know all about the b.s.. But the truth-tellers do catch some hell from the kool-aid drinkers (red boards etc.).

How true. One would think that the people in charge of personnel for all the NFL teams would notice this and draft some more potential Kuechly/Watt/Weddle types. You know, first team all-NFL type talent. Because winning is the most important thing in pro football. We will surely see an increase in the number of white defensive players drafted this year, right?

It's a shame winning isn't really 'it'. I'm having more fun watching the UFC at the same time as the Steelers / Ravens. "Our guys" just won 4 straight fights, although the 2 against the black opponents were the most satisfying, giving the crotch-jockin' the announcers were giving the bruthas.
