Nick Foles, Kirk Cousins, Josh McCown. All backups to start the year. Two have gotten their chances, one still waits. McCown is putting on a clinic. How is he a backup in a league that starts Smith, Manuel, and Pryor???

Both defenses are terrible in the NE-HOU game. Looks like the offense who gets ball last will win the game.

Any New Yorkers here - is there a significant difference in the DWF-ness level of Jets fans vs. Giants fans? Are Jets fans delusional enough to pitch a fit if Smiff doesn't start next week against the Raiders?

Pats' coal-black defense did it AGAIN!

Lineup pictures at the beginning of the game - Ninkovich was the only polar bear face I saw on Patriots' D.

IMO, most Jets fans have wanted Geno out for a long time. I think what represented the DWF mindset better was when they were excited after drafting Geno, despite all the writing on the wall that he was not going to be a good pro quarterback.

Pats' D finally gets it done. Ninkovich is right in there.

Josh McCown is an excellent quarterback. In another era, he would finish out his career much like Rich Gannon did. An older QB that helms a series of very good teams.

I have to say I don't love seeing the Patriots struggle this much against the Texans. Nevertheless...

Edelman is looking great. A pair of uber-DWF radio hosts in bean town has been very grudgingly admitting his ability referring to him as a "nice piece". A recent quote: "But no one can tell me that he is a first receiver. He's doing well but he's not a first receiver." Both agreed.

Buddy, when you are the leading receiver on a 9-3 New England Patriots team, I am sorry, you're a first receiver. There can't be a clearer litmus. And I am also sorry if kids like this stuffed you into lockers during HS but believe me, the black kids would have done worse had you gone to school with any. So take a little step back from your own limited experience and attendant grudges.

Some of these whites are just jealous of other whites who are successful professional athletes.

And the subtext is more racist than anything we could dream up. The black is imagined as a completely separate category of human specializing in athletic ability and therefore not a reasonable subject for envy. I mean a horse can run faster than a human but who cares? It's a dumb animal specializing in the ability. Whereas when white athletes start to dominate a sport, the same dope has to account for why HE is such a pussified and physically inferior specimen. He'd rather that athlete fail.

Larry Fitzgerald makes a nice catch, beating two fellow affletes for a touchdown. Conner Barwin made the classic white player mistake: he hustled. So, who is the last player seen NOT catching Fitzgerald? Conner Barwin. Who did the camera focus on after the play, visually assigning blame? Conner Barwin. There is no way it's by accident. Don't hustle if you can't make the play!!!

I think you're right. It happens far too often to be an accident.

It's usually accompanied by silence from the broadcast booth as to who was really responsible.

Julian Edelman is one of the fastest players in the league in my honest opinion. I love watching him play. Then you have Gronkowski who is just a beast. Fast, powerful, great hands, and very agile. Amazing athlete. Amendola didn't do too bad with with 5 receptions for 54 yards today. The Pats are heating up as we get closer to the playoffs. The only downside of the Patriots is their defense. Just like Denver, in order to win they have to outscore people. That puts so much pressure on the offense. Especially with an average running game.

It seems that NE is putting up 30 or so points week in and week out. Their achilles heel is obviously there defense. You would think that BB and the DC would identify the problem and fix it. That means making 2nd teamers starters and sourcing their practice squads. Something has to be done or failure awaits in the post season or SB. Still remember that one in 2012.

AP is having a great game. He will be around for 3 or 4 years. Toby has got to get out of there next year. Unless he waits to remain a "blue collar lunch pailer".

Alex Smith looking good tonight, should be a good game in Kansas! Both Thomas's now injured for Broncos could see more targets for Welker and Decker. Sky Sports in the UK giving Alex Smith alot of praise!

Geno Smith ended up with an 8.3 quarterback rating. His team scored 3 points.

Absolutely brilliant. I've explained this to people many times, but you've said it so clearly. Bravo!
