Pietro Mennea R.I.P.

That man was one of the greatest, if not THE greatest, pre-steroid sprinters. Many of his records lasted until the american black steroid runners returned the US to prominence after a period of communist steroidal success.

Unfortunately I think he gets bypassed for credit amongst great White sprinters as it seems anyone born south of Vienna misses out on the Aryan race card which is played, unfortunately, by both the caste opposers and caste supporters.

Sad news about Mennea. It looks like his death was sudden or he hid his illness from the public as he looked in good health before his death. He is also the last White sprinter to hold a meaningful world record (in the 200 meters). Ps his 200 meter record seemed to have nine lives as a bunch of sprinters nearly beat his record but for whatever reason would fall a few hundredths of second short. Micheal Johnson even tied the record...

May he rest in peace. The guy could really run. As others have said, many of the sprinters back in those days were very skinny and more natural looking. Compare that with todays hulk like figures on the track. In addition you have to consider that todays tracks are so much faster, better spikes, more adequate diets, imporved stength & conditioning progrmas and better supplements/peds. So to see guys back then run that fast is simply amazing. If Mennea was in his prime currently, he would have run at least 19.60 in my opinion.

Pietro bypassed because he was Italian? Not in this man's army. Whever I thought of the greatest white sprinters Mennea was first and foremost in my mind.

Don't be disingenuos, it may not have happened recently but there are lots of times when southern Europeans have had their "Whiteness" questioned. You have remarked on it yourself. I'm sure a sight count of mentions would have Mennea listed at half the amount of 'back in the day' Russian and German sprinters. But I don't want to get into an arguement about it, others have mentioned the Nordic tilt to many posters viewpoints but that is just my take on it and maybe I'm just more sensitive too it.

The hurt feelings associated with the “Nordic Supremacy” mantra among pro-white discourse works both ways. For instance, I’m sure you’ve noticed that the vast majority of occurrences in which a white man is humiliated, pummeled, disgraced, outsmarted, disrespected, mocked, or vilified in mainstream media are men of “Nordic” or “Aryan” appearance. I feel that white men with Southern European heritage are rarely portrayed in such a negative, emasculated, vile manner…but as you said, I could be less perceptive or sensitive of the issue due to my own bias.

I’ll fully admit that if I were to witness a boxing match between a Northern European man with light features and a Southern European man with darker features, I’d root for the former because he would most remind me of myself and the men in my family/tribe. I know that it’s wrong to feel that way and I do believe that all white men are created equal. That said, I’m sure if the roles were reversed and a similar question posed to a Southern European man, he too would also support his own “brand” of whiteness over another.

There are indeed some Southern Euro whites (some of whom are mixed with North Africans and Arabs) who should have their “whiteness” questioned...but this is also true for countless ethnic Slavs/Russians (some of whom are mixed with Asians or Jews), Swiss/French/Austrians/Germans (some of whom are mixed with Turks or Asiatic-mixed Slavs), and Scandinavians (who are becoming mixed due to scourge of diversity).

Yes Southern Euros are still considered tough guys ie the Sopranos or the idiot bar fighters in Jersey Shore. Aside from bikers "Nordics" are largely stereotyped as beta males by the "geniuses" in Hollyweird type casting.

I remember a few threads that degenerated into that type of discussion, usually instigated by something Zeus wrote. I've always strongly discouraged it and the guidelines mention not writing negative things about any nationality because I strongly dislike reading anything negative about southern Europeans or Slavs or any Europeans, but more importantly because it's very counterproductive. In the U.S., all the European tribes have mixed together well, and all are equally screwed in the present anti-White system. Anyone playing the "Aryan card" should be called on it.
