Thanks for posting those great updates on Christophe and his time so far in the U.S. It sounds like they are having fun while getting into better shape for the summer season.
I'm interested to see if Christophe can go sub 10.10 in his first race. That would be a great start.
I'm also hoping the young german Patrick Domogala can p.b. as he is now racing with the big boys. Time for him to grow up quick. It's alot
easier to be successful at the youth level and he will have to really step up his game in the next few years. I like this kids talent though. I just hope he isn't too nervous in his first big test. If he can finish in the top 6 or 7 I would be happy although I'm sure they will have to races and he will probably be in the B Race. Either way, good luck to Patrick and Christophe!

Live coverage of the 2013 Penn Relays will be on nbc tv this saturday from 1.00 - 3.00 pm eastern standard time. So it willl be a great chance for all of us here to watch the mens 4 x 100 french relay team and later on watch Christophe open up his outdoor season in his first individual 100 meters race against a high quality field in front or around 70,000 people. I know some of you guys are very negative towards the black sprinters (some rightfully so, especially for the cheats), but Ato Boldon has shown nothing but praise for Lemaitre and here is what he says about him...from a French site...Kudos to Boldon for seeing what I have been saying!

I'm glad that he won but why did Gatlin not run? Second, it was a very slow opener despite a slight negative wind. I'm hoping it's due to some intense training because a 10.29 is a very average time and he should never run that slow. I love the kid but I have to be honest.
Patrick Domogala looked horrible.
These guys better both get back to training. Stupid NBC Coverage stopped a half hour ago so I couldn't even watch the race.

Wow, he's still just not there, is he? I really don't know what's happened to him over the past couple of years. Apparently, he's eating better and training harder, but, unless he really eased up and jogged the last 10 meters, this is another disappointing start. A win is nice, but there was no international-level competition in this race. 10.29, simply not that good given virtually no wind.
Sorry guys, but 10.29 for an elite sprinter of Lemaitre's caliber is a sad sad time.
Training in Florida has done nothing for him.
I am sooo disappointed in this guy..... in my opinion we will never see the Lemaitre of 2 and 3yrs ago again.
I know that sounds very negative, but the time (and the times he ran last year) speak for themselves.
Hopefully Gemili can brighten my spirits this season.
I'll try and put a positive spin on this: Christophe was 0.37 off his PB. The 2nd to 5th runners were 0.19, 0.42, 0.44 and 0.42 off their PBs (from the IAAF web site) for an average of 0.37. Recorded wind speed is not necessarily accurate.

Yes what was the temperature? Maybe were grasping for straws but the north eastern part of North America has been unusually cold for early spring.

Weather was fine...temp was fine...-.05 wind is negligible...He probably could of run 10.18-10.20 if he had competition like Gatlin, Bailey to push him. Still somewhat disappointing.
I wont say anymore on what the obvious problem is, but look at my post above and link to what Ato Boldon says needs to be done.
My French isn't that good, but from what I can tell he is saying that Lemaitre has lots of talent, but bad technique generally, a poor drive phase, a passive attitude, and a lack of a competitive training atmosphere.These are ALL things that we've been saying for awhile on this thread.It's one thing for us to recognize these problems..... it's another thing for Lemaitre to fix them.It's pretty apparent what he needs to do.It's also pretty apparent that he is not doing these things.
