2011 West Virginia Mountaineers

Nehlen should be on the field a lot, so I will list WVU as having 7 white starters. FB Lindamood probably won't be on the field much in the new system, so most of the time it will be 6 white starters on offense. No white starters on D this year for the Mountaineers.

Is this the best a nearly all white state could do? 7 white starters? Pathetic! They've been sticking with a black qb for quite some time as well.

Since '06, WVU has started 11, 9, 10, 9, and 7 Whites.

I hope none of the thug affletes on WVU try messing with Lindamood after he trucks them in practice. That's because Lindamood was a 215 lbs. wrestling state champ! He's one bad a$$ you know what!

Yes, this is truly pathetic. Can you imagine an all-White Defense in a state that was 95% black? There'd be riots.

They got darker when Rodriguez left to go to Michigan. During last year's Big East Championship game in Morgantown, there were 10,000+ empty seats. And, shortly thereafter, the AD fired the head coach saying he wanted to "go in a different direction". I wonder if this had anything to do with the attendance or if he was getting a lot of complaints. Hopefully this means they'll Whiten-up some over the next few years and field a team that the majority of West Virginians can relate to.

WVU had 7 white starters on offense for the opener against Marshall: the O-line, the TE and WR Nehlen. I didn't see much of Nehlen as the game progressed, and I don't remember Lindamood getting much of a chance at FB, either. The winner of the Friends of Coal game had an all-black D for the weather-shortened contest, although I did see Vance out there at LB a bunch.
