Connecticut has recruited a white cornerback out of Colorado. Maybe new coach Pasquiloni wants to find his next Steve Gregory. This kids got legit 4.4 speed.

Yep 4.4 speed, 10.6 100M and 21.21 200M, shutdown corner yet some Scout writer and others are saying "he may not have the hips to play corner at the next level".  He is attending several camps next month with a major chip on his shoulder regarding the whole unsubstantiated "tight hips" label.<div></div><div>Needless to say, finding this site hit a positive nerve with us as we have been privately steaming over the racial bias simply because he is a white athlete who dares to aspire to play corner at the next level.  Major shoutout to UConn for their offer.  Utah is also saying they know he can deliver and are threatening to offer at their camp as well.  We'll see how it plays out.</div>
This racial bias you speak of is the exact reason this site exists. Welcome seekclarity! As for McHenry, it's great to see him with a major offer and a chance for more to come.

Why the hell hasn't CSU and CUalready frickin offered? You would think a coaching staff would judge him fairly and want to keep a kid like this in state. Edited by: celticdb15

Essentially it is profiling. I actually support that for airport security so to avoid being hypocritical I will accept it as reasonable for college recruiting.
Profiling at an airport for security reasons is based on factual information in regards to criminal risk assessment, so yes, I wholeheartedly support profiling in an airport as opposed to the current "frisk grandma" approach that they have now. But "profiling" in college athletics is flawed and based on false assumptions, not on factual evidence. It therefore crosses the line between profiling and racial bias.

Gavin, like thousands of white skill players currently and before him, are passed over purely based on skin melanin content. The reasons behind this have been documented here countless times.

Right. Specifically, the notion of white athletic inferiority is mythical and falserather than stereotypical. A stereotype has truth in it though there may be exceptions to the rule. A myth is simply false and must be wholly rejected. Not only are there exceptional white athletes out there but, in fact, whites are just as,if notmore, likely tobeathletic.

Apparently Gavin McHenry has been offered by Utah to play strictly corner back. Awesome.

Always good to have choices. I'm hoping his list is Utah first, Air Force second, and then the UConn(victs). This is another example of a White player that must be properly informed about the Caste system so as to make the correct decision, and that means to stay away from the Black Huskies.

As far as Colorado and CSU not going after him, it's obviously because he's White. If he were black, Colorado would've snapped him up. And CSU, in the past at least, before they changed coaches a couple years ago, would've taken him. But they, like their cousins just north in Laramie, are now slumming it in Florida, chasing after the myth.
