He's been a pleasant surprise and addition to today's crop of SOLID white players. With Yao out this season, he should battle Chris Kaman (he's got a great chance) for the Western center spot of next year's All-Star game. He's definitely becoming a great player in his own right, scoring 26 points today vs. the Clippers, Memphis lost though.

Marc Gasol, and his brother Pau, are like real-life Paul Bunyans!

Marc Gasol has been real surprise for me. I never thought he'd be this good. In doing so, I've been voting for him among the West's centers. He's god a reasonable chance of making it. Just helped his team win 121-108 over the Warriors. I see him as the Spanish counter-part of Andrew Bogut.

Another strong performance by Marc Gasol, helping the much improved Grizzles win 116-111 OT over the Wizards. He might be the best center in the West behind Chris Kaman

20 points (8-12 FG's, 4-4 FT's)
11 rebounds
3 assists

j41181 thanks for the NBA updates on our players. I usually get into the NBA around April/May.

My pleasure! It's another wonderful outing for the other half of the Spanish Twin Towers. Memphis wins 121-110 over Indiana.

Marc Gasol with another strong game. A 128-103 massacre over the Suns. His All-Star potential keeps growing in each game he plays. It also helps the fact he's got good and unselfish teammates (Gay and Mayo to name a few). The Gasol Brothers is fast becoming a household name. Your gonna hear from the likes of Pau and Marc for another 12-14 years. They kinda remind me of the Klitschko Brothers, only taller, bigger, and more athletic. Of course, boxing and hoops are 2 different things.

19 points (8-13 FG's, 3-7 FT's)
9 rebounds
2 assists

He's averaging 15.2 PPG and 9.7 RPG.

They say that a big is very good if he averages 20 and 10... Well, Marc is essentially doing that because his shot attempts are limited at times (by Mayo, Gay and Randolph), and getting to the free-throw line, and hitting them, is what's keeping his points quite respectable.

If you're White (and your teammates are all-black), 15 is certainly the NEW 20!

I don't really follow the (pro-caste/afflete) "YO.B.A" much anymore, but love hearing of players like Dirk, Nash & the Gasols tearing it up...WPWW!

Our White brothers like Marc Gasol and Bogut are VERY tall, TRUE bigs.

Marc looks about 3 inches taller than Duncan.. and when Milwaukee played Orlando, Bogut was a good 3 inches taller than Dwight Howard.

12 points and 13 rebounds for big Marc.. as Memphis shocks the world! I'm happy for Marc.

They had plans to replace him with Hasheem Thabeet, no doubt, but how'd that work out?

Memphis shreds Oklahoma 114-101

He virtually destroyed Kendrick Perkins. It would be shocking if Memphis would make it to the WCF. Marc's fast becoming an All-Star level player.

The only thing I hate about the Grizzlies doing well so far is that one of the all-time thugs in NBA history, Zack Randolph, has been as good as anyone. He's always been talented, but absolutely a worthless individual off the court. Google "Zack Randolph Hoop Family" to learn more about this criminal and his "posse".

Back to Marc Gasol, clearly he's been the better of the two brothers so far. But I expect Pau to have a very good series against Dallas. It would be very interesting if the Gasols meet in the WCF.Edited by: foobar75

I'd rather see Dirk there. Pau already has rings and Marc is still young. Also the best player on each team gets the most media exposure and credit. This means we have a choice in the western conference between Kobe, Pau, Randolph, or Nowitzki for the hypefest. I'll take Nowitzki.

That was a CRUCIAL Game 3 win for Memphis, but knowing the PTBs "intense love" for Durant, I'm not celebrating yet, but am glad that the series has been "extended" by Memphis. It means possibly more games to see Marc in action.

Marc had 16 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks in Game 3! Marc had 5 blocks in Game 2..

Too bad Memphis lost, the other Gasol (as in Marc) was awesome...

26 points, 21 rebounds (10 offensive), 3 assists, 2 steals, 1 block

Nick Collison played 34 minutes and made a big impact (+22 game impact) despite only 4 points and 5 rebounds, but had 2 steals.

In my view, this "heartbreaker" will cost Memphis the series. However, I take solace in Gasol's clutch tap-out rebounds, offensive rebound put-backs, that crucial block on the jump-shooter, that beautiful clutch hook-shot near the end of regulation which spurred the Memphis comeback. Marc was a BEAST!

Aside from his free-throws made, it was Zach Randolph that got exposed. And, Mayo.. he would absolutely clank open looks but then make a more difficult 3 where his body isn't set (from the corner).

In his career, he was never a "sniper" and didn't deserve his huge "Caste-push." The MSM fell in love with him being named O.J., that's all it is...

Gasol has stamped his arrival to the big time. He is not going to be just Pau's brother anymore. What a game. It's not over yet. Memphis can still pull this out.

It looks like Memphis is in trouble, down 3-2, despite the heroics of Marc. Nick Collison had a great game in the Thunder win though. Collison looked like more than a "serviceable bench player". He had a nice dunk displaying his athleticism.

Marc Gasol helps Grizzlies for Game 7, 95-83 win over Thunder.

The 'great' Kevin Durant had only 11 points (3-14 FG's, 1-9 3pt's)

Z-Bo leads the way with 30 points, 13 rebounds.

Marc had 8 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 3 blocks.
