Welker, who was benched by Belichick for New England's first series, crossed a line. It's one thing for the media and fans to joke about Ryan's personal life. The players and coaches are peers. They shouldn't participate in anything that embarrasses one of their peer's family members.
So it's not ok for "a peer" of Rex Ryan, Wes Welker, to joke about his odd foot fetish but it is for "peer" of Tom Brady, Antonio Cromartie, to say f*** him and call him an a**h***?

Whitlock seems confused with his NFL "peers" relationships.Edited by: Freethinker

This coming from the same guy that said "The best offense in the NFL is 82% White" after the Colts dismantled the donkeys earlier this season. Then says that they are the "Duke basketball" of the NFL. He must not remember that Duke won the freakin' 2010 National Championship. Not a bad model to go off of if you want to win championships in any sport.

So, after losing one game by only a touchdown after going 14-2 all season, "It's now fair to question everything about the Patriots"? How asinine and absurd. The only thing I question is why they felt the need to sit out Welker for the first quarter and throwing to Crumpler and Branch on key plays. Simply taking those decisions back wins it for the Patriots. We all know how paper-thin the margin of error is for White players and he showcases it in this not-so-subtle of a swipe article. Too bad for him it makes no sense.

lol were the tongue in cheek comments by Welker REALLY as offensive as the Jet nut huggers are trying to make them out to be? Good little foot soldiers? Put your best foot forward? Stay on your toes? If anything it was clever and it wasn't anything worse than what the NY Post and other New York media outlets said about Ryan. Hell the day before the game the Post had a giant foot in reference to Ryans fetish videos - but apparently when Welker says something it is suddenly a horrible action.

Isn't this the team with players that are caught drinking and driving putting peoples lives at risk? Didn't Cromartie ask for an advance on his pay to catch up on back child support? Didn't they sexually harass a TV Azteca reporter? Isn't the threat of another sexual harassment lawsuit hanging over their head from the actions of a former QB? Didn't theyhave a major scandal when a sideline coach tried to interfere with a in game play by trippinga member of the Miami Dolphins? Didn't they say "Tom Brady is a bleeping ahole" and they hated him (to clean it up a little bit)?

Oh but right their sensible feelings were hurt, shocked and outraged about Welkers little joke - what sensitive guys they are, apparently.

The Patriots haven't won since Spygate? Well the Jets haven't won since I was born, so take that.

The Patriots way is evident in Kansas City, Atlanta and New England? Jeez, good point - number one seed in AFC in Patriots, number one seed in NFC in Atlanta and Kansas City has finally won its division. But I guess the Jets are the current model because they won a couple games against a beat up Indie and a Patriots team that choked - that isn't reactionary at all.

Oh and poor Ryans kid in 10th grade - if it weren't for Welker he wouldn't have heard anything about the foot fetish videos his mom and dad willingly shared with the world. That's all on Welker, Ryan is just a poor innocent victim.

And BB didn't take blame for Chungs botched fake punt? He ALWAYS comes out and says "We were out coached" when they lose, he said it was a bad play - which it was (or do they deny that?) and maybe he didn't know that Chung was going to take all the blame and put it on his shoulders. Some people here in New England broke down the play and said not only was Chung not expecting the snap but the O Line wasn't in a run formation, they were blocking for a punt, so it may not even have been a call Chung made, it may have been the snapper thought he heard something he didn't, either that or BB gives a second year safety a LOT of control over the outcome of the game if he's allowing him to call his own fake punt on their own 38.

As long as the Packers win I really don't care which team comes out of the AFC to go to the SB - then maybe all these accolades being heaped on the Jets ushering in a "new way to do things" in the NFL can be put to bed.Edited by: Patrick

John, try youtube.com and search for Welker and foot and I'm sure you will find a video of the interview.

John
I posted it earlier in the Wes Welker thread. Here it is again.... It's good-natured tongue-in-cheek, buried in the context of his interview. To take it as a "terrible insult" to the coaches wife is really digging too deep.

Excellent post, Patrick, I wish you would post more often.

The Steelers vs. Jets match-up has so many hate-worthy candidates that I'm not entirely convinced of who I should be "rooting"Â for?

1) Mike Tomlin. The unprofessional, Ebonics-spewing, affirmative action hire was unconditionally giddy during the Steelers-Ravens game...so much so that he was literally "skipping"Â (a very common practice among egotistical Negro players after the most routine tackles, catches, etc) after Steeler touchdowns. He was slapping hands, jive-talking, joking around, laughing hysterically, and even "fake boxing"Â with his black "subordinates."Â But what else should be expected from "The Sexiest Coach in the NFL?"Â Yes, I think we all remember that ridiculous "national poll."Â Tomlin's happiness is parallel with my discontent.

2) Hines Ward (aka "Hiney Wart"). One of the most nauseatingly eulogized athletes in the NFL. Ward is perpetually bestowed the title of "The Best Blocking Wide Receiver in NFL History."Â The reality, of course, is that Ward is one of the dirtiest players in the league. Who could forget his ridiculously unnecessary hit on Bengals linebacker, Keith Rivers, in which Rivers literally dislocated his jawbone. Ward wouldn't apologize (and stated that "he would gladly do it again"Â), probably because he's such a "universal nice guy."Â Yeah, the obtuse watermelon-grin never seems to leave Ward's chubby little face, unless the little brat and his African teammates happen to be losing. Ward used to constantly bitch about "only being a 3rd round pick"Â out of Georgia in the late 1990's. If Ward were white, he wouldn't have even gotten an NCAA scholarship. Ward's inherently short, slow and unathletic self is proof that a Caste System favors non-whites at the wide receiver position. His multiple "contract disputes" are another clear indication that St. Ward is not merely motovated "by the love of the game."

3) Troy Polamalu (aka "The Polynesian Dingleberry"Â). Similar to Ward, Polamalu is unanimously beloved, despite his Bob-Sanders-like proneness to injury and his "Ed Reed Stat Line"Â"¦you know, one tackle and one cherry-picking interception per game. An ultra-productive safety such as the late Pat Tillman would crush Polamalu like a chubby little dung beetle. Troy is yet another "nice guy" with an obvious dark side (See 3rd quarter of 2010 New England vs. Pittsburg game). At his diminutive size, Polamalu would have never even been recruited by USC, let alone a 1st round draft pick in the NFL, had he been born with white skin.

4) Rex Ryan. The boisterous, childish, arrogant, obese "plantation master"Â is undoubtedly the spawn of the "chocoholic,"Â Buddy Ryan. His predisposition to African athletes is embedded into his DNA. He did sign safety Jim Leonard away from the Ravens, however. He also gave Danny Woodhead a roster spot, even after he tore his ACL as a rookie.

5) Mark Sanchez. Of all the non-black QB's in the NFL, Sanchez is probably the least accurate passer. His continued success is quite unfortunate, as the media and DWFs desperately yearn for a "Hispanic Hero"Â so that they may properly demean themselves and white athletes.

6) Braylon Edwards. Former 1st round pick (bust) of the Cleveland Browns. In the past year, he has assaulted an actual midget (no, I'm not joking) and was arrested for a DUI.

7) Santonio Holmes. Former 1st round pick (bust) of the Pittsburg Steelers. During his days at OSU, he had already fathered several children, all to different women. He admitted to dealing drugs in Florida prior to attending OSU. While in the NFL, he has been in trouble for domestic violence, drug possession, smashing a glass in the face of stripper, etc. All charges, as usual, were dropped.

But hey, perhaps the Packers' John Kuhn can eventually extract revenge on the Steelers, who, of course, cut Kuhn in 2005 in favor of the obese Duce Staley"¦the slow Noah Herron"¦and the nobody, Verron Hayes.Edited by: Thrashen

It all comes down to the Packers now hopefully making it to the Super Bowl and showcasing their caste-busting white athletes with the best pass rushing speed linebacker in the NFL Clay Matthews and their big, fast and athletically gifted WR Jordy Nelson. I couldn't care less for the other teams remaining in the playoffs except I don't mind seeing Jay Cutler and Greg Olsen connecting on some long passes like they did against the Seahawks.

Wow, could they please just clone this guy to sing the national anthem for every game so we don't have to listen to anymore pop stars mangle it?

Green Bay made the Bears D look stupid on that drive. Rodgers showing that he's the best scrambling Qb in the league, missing tackles to make passes all 85 yards of the drive and caps it off with a rushing TD.

I couldn't wish for a much better start to the game. Just hope it keeps up :0

Yes, the national anthem was very nice.

Jordy Nelson has a nice 22 yard catch so far. Looks like the defender was all over him on that second pass.

Too bad John Kuhn missed the pass thrown to him. It was thrown a little too soon though, and I doubt Kuhn would have made all 10 yards needed for the first down.

Chad Clifton being knocked out of the game hurts Green Bay as well. Maybe he'll be able to come back in. Kuhn accidentally kneed him in the head.

And what happened to the Bears defense I've been hearing so much about in pre-game shows. When Urlacher isn't making a play they are getting shredded out there. Green Bay's own mistakes cost them their second drive and Urlacher's sack saved a fieldgoal score even on GB's worst drive. And as I typed this they got carved for another TD.

Lance Briggs just didn't respect Rodgers' foot speed at all and took a bad angle and got burned on a 25 yard scramble.

Rodgers is getting to be my favorite QB to watch.

I stand by my statement, while Rodgers certainly isn't the RUNNER that Vick is, Vick frequently stops being a QB when he starts to scramble. Rodgers could up his rushing yardage quite easily be eating up a lot of the smaller run opportunities but instead looks for shots down field.

If you put a RB in the QB depth chart he doesn't automatically assume the position of the leagues top scrambling QB.

Well, Cutler is out with Collins now in the game for him. Clifton is back in for the Packers. I'd like to see John Kuhn get a few carries.

Rodgers is definetly the best scrambling quarterback. Thats a big difference from a running quarterback. Like Pie mentioned, a scrambling quarterback tries to extend the play looking for a receiver downfield, a runner just runs under pressure. Ill take someone like Rodgers, sure he could get 5 to 10 yards a lot of those times, or he can extend the play and get a 20+ yard pass. Brees has been a very good scrambling quarterback throughout his career, very elusive in the pocket, but I think Rodgers is better at this point. Rodgers could be the runner Vick is if he wanted to be, but there isn't much of a point to that. He led his team in rushing at halftime though, but that is by need, there isn't much run game, and he is still performing at a high level. Starks had one good game and is hyped up.

Urlacher seems to be the only guy that came to play for the Bears. Kind of dissapointed Cutler is sitting this one out, he is walking around fine, but great to see Green Bay winning.

Yep, Urlacher with a nice INT and return. Rodgers tackled him to save the Bears TD. Rodgers is doing great on the ground with 5 runs for 39 yards and a TD.

Kuhn just made a nice 6 yard catch and you could hear the crowd chant his name.
