And I hope SteveB is right and he can shave a little bit off that. If he can get under 4.55 or so, that would be good. I also agree with Steve that it's no guarantee that he'll get drafted, ever get to play, or to start, or treated fairly. But these players need to do everything possible to help themselves. He's a big talent regardless of his 40, but he's white, so he's held to a different standard.

After having the worst game of his career,Hass is still on top by over 20 yards.Mike Hass is still leading the nation with 141.3 yards per game. That is incredible that he still has an almost insurmountable lead!I would not want to be any of the cornerbacks next weekend trying to stop this kid.No one feels worse than Hass about his last game but he was happy that the Beavers still won!Edited by: white lightning

Way to go Haas on being on the collegefootballnews.com mid-season all american team. A well deserved accomplishment and hopefully he'll be a real all american once the season ends.

2 TD's for Hass with about seven minutes left in the first half. Not a lot of receptions thus far, but they've been important.

Hass ended up with 198 yards receiving.I swear that I have never seen a wide receiver ever make it look as easy as Hass does.Even though Oregon State lost,Haas scorched the stellar UCLA Defense all day long. This is a top 10 team that is undefeated that Mike had his way with.Any doubts about his talent is just crazy. He is by far the premier receiver in the country!!!

First off: Ducks > Beavers.

Now with that out of the way...

Haas ended up with 198 yards receiving.

Whoa! Is Haas still in the running for that consecutive 100 yard record?? My hope is Haas will get to the NFL and be the next Kevin Curtis!

Virtually every game, 150 to 200 yards receiving. Has there ever been a better receiving machine than Mike Hass? The only semi-comparable receivers in the nation are Jeff Samardijza and David Anderson. OSU was on TV in this area for the first time this season and "wow" is the only adjective that comes close to describing Hass.

Hass should get the same media treatment given to Bush of USC and Ginn of Ohio State, but we know that's dreaming. I can't wait for the NFL Draft next April -- it's just like with Matt Jones, someone will takehim early because he's too good to pass up. Let's hope it isn't a hopeless case like Jacksonville again. We need Tennessee, Indianapolis, St. Louis or Carolina to draft Hass and start him as a rookie.

Wow. 198 yards. And that was with some good defense that took away at least a few receptions. He could've gotten well over 200 yards. There was one play where he had the ball for a split second, the defender knocked the ball loose, and another defender grabbed it for an INT. And he still burned these guys. Sweet.

And yet he'll still most likely be considered a short, small, slow "possession" receiver by the time the NFL and its propaganda arm, the media, get done with him. Just do your best, Mike. Good luck!

Haas is doing everything he has to do to set himself up for becoming a high draft pick. He has to continue to put up great numbers because he's white so he has to one up everything a black WR does just to get credit. Haas has to lead the nation in receiving in order to get some respect. It's a shame that if this was some black WR he'd be talked about like Ginn and Bush. This kind of crap makes me sick.

Sporting News noticed Hass in their Draft Watch but they describe him as too slow and too small (at 6'1") and probable 3rd round choice... they even described him as 3rd WR already...

I think Haas no matter what team he goes to will proabably start off as a 3rd WR becuase he just isn't dark enough by NFL standards. But then when he starts getting on the field and showing what he can do then the team will have no choice but to start him eventually.

If he is a third receiver, who are the first receivers in college right now? Why aren't they outperforming him?

KG2422 Haas is outperforming alot of guys who will unfortuantly be picked ahead of him. I'm saying because he doesn't run a 4.3 40(the time white guys have to run to be drafted high as a WR see Matt Jones) even though he'll have a better 40 then Mike Williams who was drafted like 8th. If I was running a NFL team I would draft Haas in the first round but I'm not racist towards white guys like all 32 GMs are. That's why Haas just like Matt Jones will have to start off as a 3rd WR and work his butt off to start. It isn't becuase he doesn't have the skills because he does its more a issue of the caste system of the NFL.

Hasshas 69 receptions for 1,237 yards on the season now. Here is his yardage per game against a tough schedule:

155, 178, 163, 174, 161, 17, 190!!

I wonder if any other wide receiver in I-A history has ever had a season with this kind of consistently huge output?

FYI this is kinda annoying me. His named is spelled Hass and is pronounced like "bass" the fish. Some people seem to think it is pronounced like former Yankee slugger Kevin Maas.

I am glad Mike won it, and it was very well deserved! I hope he is given a decent spot on a decent team. He will be a game changer, no doubt.

Wow I'm shocked the guy who actually deserved to win the award actually won it. Way to Mike on a great season and spectacular career. Hopefully the award will only vindicate his skills and help move up in the draft. Now if Kiper jumps on his bandwagon then things will look really good.
