Where did you get your info that Stockton was the 2nd fastest Player in the NBA?

I think it was the Sporting News used to put out annual basketball guides in the 80s and 90s. They were paperback books with in-depth player profiles. I would look for the white players and I remember on the Stockton profile, early in his career they stated he was the fastest or one of the fastest players in the league. It was probably mostly anecdotal, much like Derrick Rose, Rajon Rondo, and Leandro Barbosa are hyped as super fast. Of course, achieving prolific numbers of steals certainly indicates superior speed.

Also, I remember during the dream team Olympic run, Stockton was suffering from a severe ankle injury.Edited by: icsept

By fastest you mean lateral agility or what?

Stockton was the best pure point guard ever.
Bob Cousy was the original great point guard.
Steve Nash is the best pure point guard today.
As far as fundamental skills go white players have been the best bet.
Lots of the great blacks were built on hype. You can tell by the relatively few numbers of championships. Examples are Wilt and Elgin Baylor (both were selfish and more athletic freaks than anything), Dr. J who didn't win until they got Moses Malone. Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, and Dominique Wilkins were all hyped up but never won. Lebron James is the same way.
I want to know when the push to hype black NBA players started. I would say it happened by the Sixties.

The top jumpers in the last twenty years have been mostly European, often Russian or Swedish. It is not completely white "dominated" either, with some great black, Asian and mixed race jumpers.
Perhaps they were talking about the USA, or perhaps they were just talking rubbish.

Excellent point Devans. White men won gold, silver, and bronze at the 2004 Olympics. Do a quick search of Stefan Holm at you tube to see an amazing jumper!

no worries, wa33. i'm happy to help. now, to get back on topic ...

the truth is that affirmative action favoring blacks is the only reason the NBA is so dark. aconcise, pointedway to refute this whole "The NBA would becompletely black if things were fair" or "White guys simply aren't good enough to play in the NBA" nonsense is this:

all-White (except for the worst player on the team who played only a couple of minutes per game) Greece defeated the all-black "Dream Team" of USA in the semi-finals of FIBA's 2006 World Championship. none of the White players from Greece had ever even been invited toan NBA camp, while the black NBAers were NBA superstars.

conversely, the Greek'slone black player had actually been drafted by the NBA (in the second round, 34th overall) despite not being good enough to get big minutes on a team of "White stiffs."

for anyone who is interested, there is the truth of the NBA's "talent" search in stark black and White.

I make this same point to DWFs who usually retort that the US black players don't play together until the Olympics and all those foreign teams play together all year round. It's the same excuse the MSM repeats whenDream TeamUSA plays not so dreamy.

I like the point by pistol pete as well. Common Sense hasdissapeared these days. It is all about the hype and the commercials. They just don't look at whites in America like we can sell anything. One key thing to remember is that with the minorities, they will always buy the hats, tshirts, jerseys and shoes at a higher rate than whites. Money talks. Reality. It sucks but this is the real world and it all revolves around money. Who can make you the most money? Edited by: white lightning

yet again, this is a blatantly false statement presented as cold hard fact.

simply put, foreign national teams don't play together all year. much like with the NBA players, foreign playersall play professionally for different teams in different pro leagues (unlike in the NBA many of the pro leagues are in different countries, however) and only come together to play for their national team during international competitions.

the idiocy that is spewed forth by the media and the morons who believe what the media tells them is just that. idiocy. NONE ofthelieshold up when looked at.

Funny stuff, Deadlift. The cast of "In Living Color" back in the early 90's couldn't have made a skit funnier than that bit of strange reality. Can't believe the reporter was able to keep a straight face. Good god, what a nightmare of a society.

i know that you can't seriously believe that, can you? because after perusing your post, i know that youmust bewell aware of the numerous defeats by all-black USA national teams. otherwise, you couldn't have so carefully selected the dates and teams that you shared with us to "prove" your case of the "invincible" all-black squads.

for example, you attempt tomislead readersby posting your teenage USA teams as somehow incredible world-beaters, when theyrarely play any of the best teams in the world. and then when they do, they often end up on the short end of the scoreboard. i shall begin destroying your carefully contrived false image of utter dominance now.

the USA is the nation that invented the game of basketball, so it comes as no surprise that they are one of the dominant teams in international play. for years, American teams (even all-White ones back in the day) were the usual favorites when it came to international hoops. the highlight of that came when an integrated USA team showed the worldthe pinnacleof basketball achievement: the original Dream Team of the '92 Olympics. it also exposed the game to a world audience that, up 'til then, had rarely given basketball a thought. since that time, however, the USA has seen its assumed role as gold medalist of every international tournament routinely challenged.

while still always considered one of the favorites in any given world tourney, the USA is no longer on a level by itself. you are denying the truth (and intentionally trying to create a false reality) if youmanufacture a propagandicargument that says anything different.

the u-16age groupyou mentioned has only played one international tournament. ever. and it was merely an americas-only tournament, which featured only one other legitimate team: Argentina. hardly proof of your point.

the u-17 team won thefirst-ever World Championship this year at that age group. and they did so in dominant fashion, as you stated.

the u-18 team you mentioned played an americas-only tournament, and barely escaped Brazil (81-78). that's hardly dominating. furthermore, this team never plays outside of an americas-only venue. and while they are the favorite each year (as Argentina isthe only otherlegitimate team at the senior level of international play), all-White Argentina won the gold in 2008 and Puerto Rico won gold in 2002, sandwiching the USA win in 2006. again, hardly a throttle on the world's neck.

the u-19 team you mentioned won the World Championship at that age group in 2009, but hardly in dominating fashion. after emerging froma highly favorabledraw in pool play, they managed to hold on against Serbia, winning by 7. in the semifinals, they escaped a (more?) talented Croatia team, winning only by just 4. they hardly looked dominant in the final, beating Greece by 8.

more importantly, this team is the only one you listedthat had a White player (the roster, in fact, held two). hejust happened to be the team's best player.

i'm sure it escaped your notice (and your "non-black = no talent" theory) that the best player on this team was Gordon Hayward, the White small forwardwho played for Butler University.

oh, by the way, before the nearly all-black USA won the 2009 u-19 World Championships (and before the tourney began to be held every two years; it was formerly held every 4 years), all-White Serbia won it in 2007, all-White Australia won in 2003, all-White Spain won in in 1999, and all-White Greece won way back in 1995. "weird," huh?
smiley2.gif

the u-21 World Championship tournament that you didn't mention is also telling. of the four times it was held, the now-defunct tournament was won by black USA teams twice... it was also won by all-White teams twice: Australia and Lithuania. again, very "weird."

you completely failed to mention the World University Championships. i'm sure it was an accidental oversight on your part.
smiley36.gif
"coincidentally," the USA has only managed to win once since 1999, taking the gold in 2005. all-White Yugoslavia won in 2001, all-White Serbia and Montenegro won in 2003, all-White Lithuania won in 2007, and all-White Serbia won in 2009.furthermore, the USA has only managed to place as high as 3rd (which they did twice) over that time period."weird," that you didn't mention this tournament at all ...
smiley2.gif

the men's USA national team hasn't even qualified for the championship game in the FIBA World Championships since 1994. since then, the World Championship has been one twice by all-White Yugoslavia (1998, 2002) and once by all-White Spain (2006). the silver medalists in all of those tournaments also featured all-White rosters (as did the competitors in the bronze medal game sans the USA). we'll see what happens this year.

in the Olympics, the USA has been far more dominant. other than Argentina's goldmedal win in 2004, the USA haswon every gold medal since 1992, albeit their winning margin has shrunken considerably. consider this, the Dream Team won the championship game by 32. in 2000, that margin had slimmed to a mere 10 points. in 2008, it was 11.

oh, by the way ... the USA is the only team in the world (except a one-year run for France) that features a majority (or for that matter more than one player) black roster that ever challenges for a medal in international competition. if your theory of black supremacy was legitimate, why are there exactly ZERO good national teams from the African continent?

i doubt you'll respond to this post, because you'll definitelyneed toeat some crow ... of course, you apparently like the taste of dark meat. so maybe it won't be hardfor you to choke it down.

The fact Spain can produce Pau Gasol, Marc Gasol, and other NBA players with a much smaller white population than the USA is proof of the blatant racism against American whites. Basketball is the type of game where a great player can be "frozen out" by his teammates. We all know blacks are the most racist group in the US. When the Celtics were run by Bird and McHale, several whites players whose careers had deteriorated, upon joining the Celtics had their careers resurrected. The Celtics were the last NBA team which weren't run by blacks racists. The NBA referees make the WC referees look competent in comparison. In what other sport, do referees decide that fouls are called depending on the perceived status of the player. John Wall the incredibly over hyped rookie is portrayed by the media as Jordan/Koby/Bird/Lebron combined. But if his stats in the summer league are examined it reveals that his 23.5 pts/ game is the result of playing the most minutes, taking the most shots and having by far the most FTs. He is portrayed as an improved outside shooter. But his 3pt FG% is very low. His overall FG% is low. He obviously is constantly bailed out by the refs as evidenced by the incredible amount of FTs he had each game. Performances by blacks which are mediocre win them roster spots. Whites with similar stats would never win a roster spot. An example is Marcus Blakely a 6'5" guard who is a poor outside shooter and not a good ball handler . He scored an unimpressive 7 points a game in 5 summer league games. But this was enough to be signed to a guaranteed contract.

Yeah, you're right. The U18 isn't dominant. They'reonly38 and 2, with that loss to Argentina in Argentina.

So what are we up to? 51 and 2?

Not weird at all.Beginning in '95, the best 18 and 19 year old's (Kevin Garnett, Tracy McGrady in '95, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh in '03, Kevin Durant and Greg Oden in '07) were in the NBA, not playing U19 tournaments. By the time and NBA age limit was increased, they started winning again! Gee, what a coincidence! Weird how that happened, huh?

Refer to last post. By the time elite players hit pro age, they're looking to cement their NBA millions, not whip some euros overseas.. like the 112 to 13 record u16 to U19 isindicative of.

This has been addressed on this board ad nauseum. Elite US pros have no desire to play international ball. They make every excuse in the book to not show up. We end up sending junior varsity teams just about every time. Elite foreign players would rather take a bullet than miss international play.

Not one single member from the Beijing Dream Team is playing in the World Championships. I guess they found wiping up the court with the overwhelmed countries by an average of 30 points too boring tovolunteer for again.

In your dreams, slappy. U16-U19 = 112-13, and undefeated in '08, '09, and '10. If high schoolers and college freshman didn't start turning pro in the mid 90's, it would probably be in the 120-5 range.. which is precisely why Jaxvid said "I guess AA for white basketball players has ended." Even he saw the writing on the wall.

No that is not why I said that, I said it in SARCASM a-hole, too subtle for you apparently since you have to be hit over the head with things.

The point is, and listen carefully, the US under age teams have only played a very limited schedule against mostly teams from the western hemishpere who are NOT the quality of teams in Europe. Therefore only a pro-black troll like yourself would use such limited evidence to make a point. To other people that makes your case W-E-A-K. Understand slappy?

Also, basketball is hardly the most popular world sport. Soccer, and apparently judo, rank higher in popularity. Thus, the best athletes from Europe aren't playing basketball. In addition, those under 19 teams feature black players that are biologically men. Yet, white youth teams, despite being biologically younger and constructed from a limited talented pool as soccer draws the most athletic , still manage to outplay all black American teams sorely lackingin "diversity."<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Blacks in the US have a mean IQ of 85. Professor Linda Gottfredsson from the U. of Delaware is an expert of what occupation can be performed successfully according to IQ. An IQ of 85 doesn't qualify for any decent job. The average black will never be able to hold where they can be even middle class. Therefore, the average black knows if they don't play the professional sports lottery and try to make the NBA or NFL ,they will only be able hold menial jobs if they aren't place in jobs they are totally unqualified for and protected by anti-white racism. Therefore, blacks success in the NBA and NFL is due to the lack of mental ability of the majority to have any success in jobs which require anything above concrete thinking. Science cannot be racist. Blacks have a mean IQ of 85 because on average they are a mixture of black Africans 85% and whites 15% . Otherwise , their mean IQs would be 70 like black Africans.

"5-0 all time? 6-0 all time?" in youth tournaments that no good teams play in, no less! man, i'm convinced!
smiley2.gif

arethose one-off tournamentsactuallylegitimate to you?
smiley36.gif

furthermore, when talking about international basketball americas-only tournaments are about like inviting only your no-talent buddies over for a game of backyard ball and then claiming world supremacy because one guy won allhis games. seriously, you don't expect this to be conclusive evidence, do you?

then you go on to make my point for me. you claim that when a USA team loses, it's because they didn't use the "elite" players. but then in the same breath, you claim that american blacks are all super talented? which is it?

i'm certainly not claiming there aren't any good black ball players in the US, because there are.whereYOU go wrong, though,is in insisting that allblackplayersare good and all White players suck. but then you contradict yourself by claiming the elite players areneededto beat the "no talent" White players from other nations. the lack of "the good players" is why USA loses to the all-White teams, you assert. can't you see the double speak in your own mind, dude?

while the USA is certainly a major player in the international game, they aren't the unstoppable force that they used to be. can you not see that? in your love-affair with listing all-time records you "conveniently" overlook the fact that the all-black USA squads of recent years have performed far less impressively than teams from earlier eras (which had numerous White players). in your mind, why is that?

amidstthe myriad mental gymnastics you take trying to excuse the losses (though there aren't many of them, to be sure) you "mistakenly" overlook yet another telling fact. while boasting of the 2010 u-19 team's winning record, how did it escape you that the best player on the team was a White kid? hmmm ...

finally, you rhetorically ask "Who the hell cares about Africa?" well, it's obvious that you do, hip hop. africans are the guys whose nuts you are hugging. "african-american." get it? but if the reason is because "blacks are better," then why do all the african teams suck something fierce? you've no answer, do you?

Who was the black player who went to Italy for a year because he didn't want to go to college, but never played much in Italy and then came to the NBA and was one of the best rookies? I think it was last year.

"conversely, the Greek's lone black player had actually been drafted by the NBA (in the second round, 34th overall) despite not being good enough to get big minutes on a team of "White stiffs."

Greece has a black player? Was he an American who was naturalized ?

Europe you're thinking of the Bucks Brandon Jennings.. He needed to go overseas in order to grow up and not be constantly treated like a prima donna like he would if he had stayed in the states. It was actually one of the smartest things he could have done.

his name is Sofoklis Schortsanitis, and he is a complete bust. he was born in Cameroon to a Greek father and a Cameroonian mother. yuck.

he is currently not signed by any team anywhere. yet despite being the bottomplayer on a 13-man Greek national team roster that defeated the USA,he is the only player off of the team that got a chance in the NBA. thatsure seems like"fair talent evaluation," don't you think?

of course, he was the only black player on the team. so it all makes sense in the backwards world of affirmative action amerika.

Hilarious. They call this guy Baby Shaq. He's 6'9 and 345lbs and he's considered NBA material? He's at least 50lbs overweight for the position.

Quite a few obese black players have made it into the NBA. Oliver Miller and Robert Traylor are two that come to mind of the top of my head. They are such great athletes that they can be 50lbs overweight and play in the NBA over lean and athletic whites.

He's pretty dark even for a mulatto. Every year the NBA draft is a joke. Bums who sucked in college are picked over more established white players b\c of their "upside" and" their game transitions to the NBA". In this case a dark bum from Greece is representing "diversity" within the league.
