2010 Louisiana State Tigers

Here are the projected starters for the 2010 team. They started 5 whites last year.

OT- Alex Hurst
Fullback-Thomas Parsons
Guard-Josh Dworaczyk
Center-P.J. Lonergan

Guard-Will Blackwell

Updated this team just now. It looks like five white starters again instead of the six originally projected.

LSU is despicable. The only 3 guys they "allow" to play are at total caste positions. It will be a cold day in hell before I watch an LSU game this season. Edited by: Freethinker

While I hate seeing a team this black, them losing two white starters gives me even more reason to cheer against the Black Bengals.

For one thing, they have P.J. Lonergan as the starting Center, and that's because T-Bob Hebert was suspended for a DWI recently.

The two-deep at RG are both White men. I think that should stay the same.

I suspect that Tight End and Right Tackle are still up for grabs, but on this depth-chart, Chase Clement and Alex Hurst are number one. Both are White.

Alex Hurst is listed at 330 pounds, but he isn't. I saw him last season and he looked normal. Even if Chase Clement doesn't start, I think he'll receive playing time.

Josh Dworaczyk is an athletic stud, but with his smaller frame, I contend that he's being misused. I'd say he's more suited for OT or DE, rather than the grueling grind of an interior lineman. His back-up is black, btw.

I just found out that a "superman" Center/Guard that verbaled to LSU in '09, actually ended-up signing with Florida State instead.

If a black starts at RG, my guess is it would have to be the back-up LG... the ole swith-a-roo...

Anyhow, the only black lineman that this article mentions is Joseph Barksdale, who was already a starter these last 2 years:

1. Offensive Line

Coach Les Miles said he'll be looking for the five best guys to start on the offensive line, when the season begins next September. A lot will depend on where they'll put Joseph Barksdale. He has started at right tackle the last two seasons, but they'll give him a shot at left tackle in the spring.

Josh Dworaczyk, who started at left guard last year, could move to right tackle. T-Bob Hebert and P.J. Lonergan will battle it out at center. And Miles is very impressed with 6-foot-7, 345 pound, Josh Williford. The head coach said it will be hard to keep Williford out of the line-up.

Alex Hurst and Will Blackwell are also candidates for the "starting five."Â￾

LSU is still trying to figure out what they will do. I would like to see Dworaczyk at RT and Alex Hurst at RG - which is where he was a back-up last season. Lonergan was a beast at Center last year, when he was filling in for the knicked-up Hebert.


**All that being said, I don't support quotabacked LSU, nor their coal-black defense. Their defense sucked last year, and it will likely be just as bad this year. Highly-rated (DE) Sam Montgomery is skinny, and he looked very inept (and non-physical) when I watched their Spring Game. Minus the departed Jacob Cutrera, their LB corps don't have much size. Their DL tend to be on the young side; I'd like to see them get shredded..**

I did see an LSU depth chart on their website where they started a white TE, Chase Clement.

Chase also plays DE and has taken reps at that spot during Spring, I wouldn't be surprised if he made the switch if they needed it.

Its a sad day when you realized the team you watched and loved as a kid, that had great white stars slowly but surely turned darker and darker. Then one day you learn about a system of caste and realize your favorite school in all of the land helps keep it in place. Why LSU, Why?

Russell Sheperd looked totally average last season and was easily tackled. Are LSU "fans" still drinking his Kool-Aid?

Guys I am sure you are all in the same boat when it comes to explaining /defending the caste system to fans who have no clue what is going on.

Deadlift, If I had a nickel for every "fan" I have heard say start Shep at QB over Jefferson and even Lee I would retire. They hype built up on this kid by the media and web videos is stuck in their mind despite what they see on Saturdays. They blame Les Miles for Shep not playing or not passing. When we all know Les loves the Quarterblacks. By the time Jefferson throws his first pick they will be screaming for Shep all while forgetting about Lee. Even though Shep will now be a WR.

And here is your backup battering ram FB, Kellen Theriot. Here is also a link to his High School stars thread here on CF. Big and fast, he was a linebacker and dual-threat QB in HS, running a 40 in the 4.5 range............which makes you a FULLBACK on Les Miles BlackTigers team.

If I had a penny for every white kid with great size speed numbers who got moved from linebacker or running back to fullback I'd be a rich man. White blacks it's just the opposite though. You see black kids who played fullback in high school being moved to linebacker or running back.

I realize LSU is a black team..but they have been more fair than most of the SEC teams in the past...more recently thetrend has been slowly becoming more black; but still not as bad as alot of the others...yeah I know it's a sad day when I would be happy with 2 white starters on Defense; compared to some other teams that were coal black. DT-Kyle Williams, DE-Chase Pittman, LB Jacob Cutrera,FS-Jack Hunt, DB-Craig Steltz come to mind. And on offense in the late 80's TB/KR Sammy Martin(4.35-4.38); WR's Todd Kinchen &Abram Booty..and of course more recently Jacob Hester; right before him....Another RBSteve Korte(Dad played in NFL)got injured/then anacademic suspension was the star of LSU's pro-day(in 08 or 09). He measured 6-foot-1½ and 233 pounds then ran his 40 in as fast as 4.32 seconds. Korte later completed 22 reps on the bench, posted a 34.5 inch vertical jump and 10-2 broad jump. He was a little used special teams player early in his college career but his athleticism is likely to get Korte drafted in the late rounds; NEVER GOT DRAFTED...thought I remember getting try-out with Rams; don't know what happened?? Some dwf's refused to believe he ran a legit 4.38!

Now to 2010....
Russell Shepard is not a QB; he's a slot WR/ Percy Harvin type role. Eventhough Jefferson is the starting QB; I'm not giving up on Jarrett Lee..and freshman gunslinger Zach Lee(LA Dodgers draft pick) could get early playing time! The SEC is still over 3:1 with white QB's.

Yes..4 out of 5 O-Line projected starters are white...and could easily be 5 of 5 if they bump LT Barksdale....
Last year NFL Scouts were looking at a senior;but weremore impressed with the footwork & athleticism of LG Josh Dworacyzk(jr.)...who has more of a LT lean body-type at 6'-6" 295-300; Center PJ Lonergan(soph)is drawing some comparison's to KC Cheif Rudy Niswanger(exLSU); RG Will Blackwell (jr) 6'-4" 300could easily be a "D-Lineman" at a Nebraska/Iowa! RT-Alex Hurst(soph) 6'-6" 324 is a MONSTER who should be playing on Sunday's in the future! The O-Line could easily be ALL WHITE with the addition of another behemoth Josh Williford (rsFr) 6'-7" 336 who will be hard to keep out of the line-up. Expect big improvements this year; last year was BAD!

I'm usually for a white DE staying on D...but in Chase Clement's(6'5" 258 soph.)case he will probably be the Best all-around TE at LSU before his career is finished.

FB Kellen Theriot is finally healthy; looking forwardseeing what he can do...some think Les is looking for another Hester; buta fewhaters don't approve; sayingthey should quit looking for another Hester.

Though it pains me to see a starting coal-black defense..there is hope in the future....these areALL scholarship players(Can you hear me So.Carolina & Ole Myth?) 3 "Hybrid" LB/S...Josh Johns & Rocky Duplessis BOTHRS FR...and incoming freshman stud Luke Muncie (now 6'-4" 223...clocked between 4.46-4.49!) & and LB- DJ Welter (fr.)....

Another incoming freshman I cant waitto see is 6'-6" DE -Jordan Allen; possibly Best HS Player in Louisiana last year!!But some dwf's already have him peggedas a great future O-Lineman before he ever steps foot on campus

The Special teams "rudy" earned a scholarship...skinny CB-Daniel Graff(sr.) (4.34) "3rd fastest player on team" a.k.a. "white-lightning"

Thanks for the Kyle Prater news! LSU simply buried him (and his superb athleticism) on their depth-chart. I'm glad that he finally had "enough"...

When given a real chance, White linebackers' are tackling-machines in the NFL (supposedly the "highest-level" of competition)... so it's simply "amazing" how they rarely get a chance in the SEC.

With all of the affletic SEC linebackers' that get force-fed into the NFL, there's really only a "handful of stars"... some of the others' are journeyman types that may put up semi-decent stats, but, in no way, are they putting up more production than the "White boy's could"...

OG Will Blackwell broke his ankle the first play of the season vs UNC...really a bummer for me. If he were at Iowa/Nebraska he'd be a D-Lineman! Josh Williford (rsFr) 6'-7" 324 is his replacement...

Seems like just about all the teams in the SEC has a WSTD...ex-walk-on Daniel Graff has a nice story(house was damaged due to Katrina)...and happens to be on the fastest players on the teamrunning a 4.32! What's holdin him back from playing CB or Safety?? He says it'shis "vertical"....

This past Sat vs Vanderbilt he had the "game changing"play causinga fumble kickoff team; helping bust the game open...site won't let me copy some what is said w/o having to go thru alot of trouble

Quarterback Jarrett Lee should see playing time next week. He should be the starter but Miles still doesn't have the balls to pull his afflete qb Jefferson just yet even though he has played horrible. It has gotten to the point where his some of his own black teammates don't want him starting. Lee has pretty much outplayed him in every practice this year. Jefferson will still get the start next week, but Miles said if Jefferson continues his terrible play, Lee will be put in. Lee had some interception problems his freshman season but he has actually shown some promise of improving.

Jefferson hasn't really shown any signs of improving since he has started, he just originally got the nod because he was less prone to turnovers when he split time with Lee in his first season, he also rarely threw it downfield averaging around 5 yards per completion that year, with 142 yards passing in the chick fil-a bowl. It is sad that Lee missed an entire year because of making some freshman mistakes.

Btw Jefferson's stat line from last week against Vanderbilt : 8-of-20 passing for 96 yards and an interception 13 rushes for 13 yards.

Sounds like Jefferson's a legit black quarterback. BTW, didn't Les learn that having a lot of white skill players can win you a championship...Jacob Hester and Craig Steltz. Man have his teams gone downhill, the sell out. Also, the QB that year, Matt Flynn, looks like a great backup on the Packers.

Miles loves his black quarterbacks. As I recall, on that national championship team Flynn had to share snaps with the Ryan Perrilloux.

Jefferson is on a shorter leash after thepathetic showing last week...patience is even running out with the dwf's. He has no command of the offense; can't run the option; robotic locking onto one reciever. It's fair to say he has regressed after 16 starts.

Jarrett Lee is a gunslinger who needs to be at least getting quality reps NOW! He lost nearly 20lbs in the off season and worked with Colt McCoy over the Summer. He got a bad rap being thrown into the fire back in 08' as a starter; breaking the record with 7 INT's returned for TD's! That hurt his confidence; but I believe he's ready now! His quick-release is Favre-like...he throws some laser darts. Hopefully losing 20lbs has him a few steps quicker; he was scared to run the ball as a freshman. The dude has gone thru some tough times..many would have transfered. It says alot for Lee!

Your right TJR...Matt Flynn looks good with the Green Bay Packers! A few years ago you would have had trouble convincing the dwf's he would be in the NFL longer than Duhmarcus Russell.

BATON ROUGE, La. -- LSU running back Stevan Ridley may be forced to miss the AT&T Cotton Bowl against Texas A&M (No. 17 BCS, No. 18 AP) because of an academic violation.


Coach Les Miles, who discussed Ridley's status after the No. 11 Tigers
completed pre-Christmas workouts Wednesday, said LSU is appealing to the
NCAA in hopes that Ridley can still suit up when LSU (10-2) meets the
Aggies (9-3) in Cowboys Stadium on Jan. 7.

"This was a one-time
incident," said Miles, who declined to get into specifics. "The school
has been compliant. Ridley has been compliant. We are appealing it. We
are making our case."

Ridley led LSU with 1,042 yards rushing and
14 touchdowns during the regular season. He still is practicing with the
team. Players were not available to speak with reporters Wednesday, but
Ridley released a written statement through LSU.











"While I question [the NCAA's] findings and think that the punishment is
harsh, I did put myself in a compromising position that I deeply
regret," Ridley said in his statement. "I have the full support of the
LSU administration and coaching staff, and trust them in assisting me
with the appeals process.

"I hold myself to a very high standard
for my performance both on and off the field. I know that my family,
teammates, coaches, friends and fans share that standard, and I regret
that we find ourselves facing this dilemma at this time."


Miles said there was not yet a clear time frame for when the NCAA will hear the school's appeal or rule on Ridley.

Ridley's
1,000-yard season was the 13th in school history. Ridley has one more
season of eligibility remaining, although he has talked about possibly
entering the 2011 NFL draft.

If Ridley is unable to play in the Cotton Bowl, redshirt freshman Michael Ford and senior Richard Murphy
would move to the top of the running back rotation. During the regular
season, Ford rushed for 235 yards on 41 carries and Murphy picked up 82
yards on 23 attempts.

Alfred Blue and Spencer Ware,
two true freshmen, could also get some carries in the Cotton Bowl. Blue
ran for 101 yards on 20 carries, while Ware gained 73 yards on 14
attempts in the regular season.

Meanwhile, junior college
quarterback Zach Mettenberger, who signed with LSU last week, has not
yet joined the Tigers for practice as hoped because he is still going
through the admissions process as a midyear transfer student.

The
6-foot-5, 230-pound Mettenberger attended Butler (Kan.) Community
College after being dismissed from Georgia last spring for violating
team rules. He is expected to enroll at LSU in January and take part in
offseason workouts and spring practice, when he'll get a chance to
compete with Jordan Jefferson and Jarrett Lee for the starting job.

LSU ranked last in the Southeastern Conference in passing this season with 155.4 yards per game.

The
Tigers will now get a four-day holiday break before resuming practice
on Monday. LSU will practice four times on campus before leaving for
Dallas on New Year's Day.

"We had a long practice [Tuesday] and
another good one" on Wednesday, Miles said. "We have a lot of work to do

What's interesting is that Steven Ridley completed only the 13th 1000 yard rushing season in LSU history. Jacob Hester really did something special at LSU, and while I'm sure he loves every minute of being in the NFL I wish we could see him running the ball! Maybe with the success of Gerhart, Hillis, and Woodhead someone will trade for Hester and have him start running the ball! That's why I keep him as my avatar!
