Not only that, McNabb's "performance" in the last minutes of the 4th quarter of his sole Super Bowl remains the most likely tampered with Super Bowl of any of them. The clock management, not just by McNabb but also by Fat Bastard and the Eagles "brain trust," was atrocious to put it mildly. Allegedly McNabb was hurling and out of breath, which may explain it and if it does it's a great reason for the quarterback position to be as White in perpetuity as running back and cornerback have been rigged to be black.

NeoCON Rush "Lameblah" was correct...McNabb is (grossly) overrated because he's an afrolete.

He's miles away from the level of Manning, Brees & Brady.

McNabb, is no doubt a tier below Manning, Brady, Brees and Farve. He's currently fighting with Warner as the top QB of the next tier. Warner has the lead, yet McNabb has time.

McNabb's a polarizing figure simply because he's black and because he has such an odd and weak personality. If he was a thug, he'd probably get complete support from the MSM and other players around the league. Most journalists like to prop him up and gloss over his faults because he's the top black QB of the era, yet others focus more on his faults--even blacks in the media sometimes seem to revel in bashing McNabb. I think he's the only NFL QB who can throw for 350+ yards in a SB and 370+ yards in a conference championship game, and still have people talk about how horrible he did and think he probably threw for under 200 yards.

Same goes for Tebow because of his faith and overall morality. Some will prop him up, while others will want to tear him down. They'll point out faults in his game, while ignoring those same issues with other QBs. No doubt, many in the MSM are foaming at the mouth to criticize Tebow, whereas others are rooting for him. Then there is a large group in the middle. Just look at how people downplayed his amazing passing performance in the Sugar Bowl. Most fans would probably guess he threw for 250 yards. No, he threw for 482! Yet, apparently he can't pass and has major accuracy issues, just like McNabb who has the best Pass to Int ratio in the history of football. Moreover, look how the media jumped on his wonderlic score, trying to trick the public into believing it was terrible.

Regular QBs, such as Brees, Brady, Bradford, Stafford or whoever, will get a much more accurate evaluation from your avg. journalist than Tebow and McNabb. Bad to below avg. black QBs seem to have most journalist nervous to outright criticize until it becomes obvious. They are also all rooting for them to--and trying to create an impression--that they are going to be a top QB someday and have some special talent. Looking around the league, that's just not the case.Edited by: Fightingtowin

Is Florida quarterback Tim Tebow a first-round draft pick? Yes,
according to former Bucs and Colts coach Tony Dungy.
Speaking on radio's Dan Patrick Show on Tuesday, Dungy said, "I'd
be surprised if by the end of the first round somebody hasn't taken
him.'' And what about the criticism that Tebow is not an NFL
quarterback? Dungy said, "I heard the same things about Steve Young.
I heard the same things about Vince Young, and I think it will pay off for them."

JReb1, I appreciate Dungy recognizing Tebow should be a 1st round pick & the comparison to Steve Young...but that Vince YOung comparison is crapola. Vince YOung doesn't have the power & intelligence (nor character) of Tebow.

Vince Young was a wild cat qb that was totally overrated. Yes if the NFL game was the same as college he should have been a #3 pick, but it clearly isn't. Tebow has more intelligence(who doesn't)and is emotionally stable. That said I don't think either are first round material. Tebow should be a second rounder. Young should have have been a 4th rounder. I still can't figure out if the Titans win with Young or inspite of Young?

I think we all see what is going on. Tebow has been made the "face of this Draft" - but in a negative way.

If he "fails" - then that's ALL the media will focus on when they look back at this Draft. That's the "set-up" -- the script...

The media hardly cares if Joe Haden, Anthony Davis, Ryan Matthews, Alualu, Dan Williams, Trent Williams or Pierre-Paul fails. Mike Iupati also seems overrated. This is solely the "Tebow" Draft... gassspp!... What if Tebow decides to have a large White family?!... gassspp...

Freeman'scomment is wrong in so many ways. Aside from the offensiveness, it simply makes no sense. Then again, I guess it makes about as much sense as calling awhite man's white familymembersNazis because they happened to be gathered together at once.
Imagine the media outrage if someone said that the draft party of a black player looked like a Cripsgathering or a black panther rally.Edited by: Latspread

Tim Tebow Broncos Jersey Sales Out-Selling All
NFL Players

Tim Tebow's Broncos jersey sales were amazing this past weekend. The
Tim Tebow Broncos jersey sales were doing so well, that it quickly
became the hottest selling jersey in football. We aren't just talking
about all of the players who were drafted in the 2010 NFL
Draft, but everyone else in the NFL
as well. The rush to buy the new Tim Tebow Broncos jersey was so
intense that it passed what Mark Sanchez was able to accomplish when he was
drafted by the New York Jets out of USC last season. This
has to be good news for the NFL, and certainly puts another player
towards the top of the list of most popular players, even though he
hasn't even taken a snap yet. Tim Tebow was a first round draft pick by the Denver Broncos at the 2010 NFL Draft pick. Many experts had predicted that
he wouldn't get drafted that high, but it turned out that he was the
second quarterback taken in the draft behind Sam Bradford (who was picked No. 1 overall).
The Denver Broncos traded up into the late part
of the first round in order to draft Tebow, and it immediately was met
with reactions on both ends of the spectrum. Some loved the pick, but
others felt that it was far too early to draft Tebow. Since that pick
was made, it was announced by Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels that he
would indeed be an NFL
quarterback, and wouldn't be shifted to another position.

The NFL
doesn't release exact figures for their jersey sales, so we can't
quantify the Tim Tebow Broncos jersey sales with raw numbers
(unfortunately). What they did reveal though, was that the sales totals
were the highest since 2006. They also revealed that, "It's a pretty
substantial difference between him and the next guy." Ndamukong Suh was
reported as the second hottest jersey out there right now, which must
make Tim Tebow and his supporters quite happy that he is far
out-distancing the sales of No. 1 overall pick Sam Bradford. Hopefully
the NFL
will give us a hint in the near future as to just how successful the
sales have been.

"Tim Tebow Broncos Jersey Sales Out-Selling All Players"

When Todd McGay reads this he's gonna have a psychotic episode. All this at the same time as his boy Jamarcus "the most impressive pro day I've seen in 15 years; the ball just explodes out of his hand" Russell is about to get cut.

Woody Paige says you can count on Tebow being a big-time NFL quarterback, and, in between Paige patting himself on the back over his own greatness, he compares Tebow to Steve Young.

sounds familiar ... i wonder if hehas been reading some stuff here at CF?

Would you mind leading us all in a rendition of "Happy Trails" for Broncos coach Josh McDaniels after his idiotic 25th pick in this year's NFL draft of Tim Tebow? Does he really think Tebow is a franchise quarterback? I'd rather take my chances with Brady Quinn and draft a center or nose tackle with that pick. I'm not a general manager or a head coach, but I do know that if you're going to draft a QB in the first or second round, you had better expect him to be your franchise player. Tebow is not that.

â€" Robert, Atlanta

Robert: I bow to your expertise and welcome your opinion from Buckhead, except ... How in the name of God Shammgod (former NBA player) can you sit there staring at your computer screen in Atlanta and claim Tim Tebow won't be a franchise quarterback? Based on what? Your barber told you so?

I vividly remember writing in 1982, when the NFL strike was going on and I decided to travel around to see college players (Eric Dickerson, Herschel Walker and several others), and I wrote a column saying: "I have seen the future of pro football, and his name is John Elway."

I recommended that the Broncos find a way to get him. You know what people wrote, via snail mail: "Elway's a loser. He never got Stanford in a bowl. ... He's too cocky. ... He should play baseball, not football. He's not good enough to make it as a quarterback. ... Elway's a papa's boy. ... He can't throw short routes and doesn't read defenses. ... Elway won't be a franchise quarterback."

Five Super Bowls. Hall of Fame. (I gave his nominating speech: "Gentlemen, John Elway.")

Your reply is: "I've seen Elway, and Tebow is no Elway."

Tebow's assistant coach at the University of Florida in his senior season (and a main reason Tebow returned) was Scot Loeffler, a former NFL quarterbacks coach and one-time Michigan quarterback and Michigan assistant. He played with Tom Brady and was a graduate assistant helping Brady his senior year. Loeffler worked with Chad Henne, the Dolphins' starter. Loeffler has compared Tebow favorably to both guys.

Of course, Loeffler is biased. But he was brought in specifically to help Tebow get ready for the pros. Tebow did have a low start-up point on his throws in college, but he hired three former NFL coaches, and he has corrected the hitch.

Some claim he will go back to it. I don't believe so.

The young man has worked too hard over the years to correct flaws and get himself prepared to play high school, college and, now, pro football.

How many times have you talked to him, Robert? Let me guess.

How many times have you seen him play in person? How many of his coaches and opposing coaches and NFL coaches have your talked to?

I talked to Tebow twice in college, and I've spent some quality time with him in Denver the past week. He has that same aura Elway had as a rookie.

When he comes into a room, you can tell he's a quarterback. There's a je ne sais quoi. But there's a special quality.

John totally was a natural athlete, and maybe he didn't have to work so hard early on (although he did more as he got older and wanted so badly to win a Super Bowl).

Tebow always has worked harder than everyone around him and made himself into a quality player.

When he was in high school, Tebow attended a "Friday Night Lights" weekend at the University of Florida. After a meeting of young players and coaches, the Gators' strength and conditioning coach took Tebow downstairs to the weight room for a cheeseburger.

As the two sat there having lunch, Tebow asked what the Florida record was for most leg lifts. Mickey Marotti, the coach, replied: "Oh, 18, I think, by some lineman." After he finished his fries, Tebow walked over to the weights, did 19 lifts, and left.

He has a body that punishes defensive linemen. He can run better than Elway did. He can pass in this offense, just as Brady does at New England (under McDaniels for three years), and Brady can't run a lick.

I will tell you who to compare Tebow to: Steve Young. Out of high school, nobody wanted Young as a quarterback. Recruiters thought he was a running back or a safety.

He went to BYU because he was a great-great-great grandson of Brigham Young, and he was playing behind Jim McMahon when the Cougars played Colorado in Boulder in 1981. McMahon lit up CU early, then got hurt. Steve came in and ran and passed the Buffs silly, finishing off a 41-20 BYU victory. I wrote a column about this amazing kid. He was strictly a QB at BYU after that game.

But the NFL didn't think much of him, and people thought the left-hander would have to play another position in the pros. So Young went off to the USFL (signing with the Los Angeles team owned by Denver cable mogul Bill Daniels) and was great.

The Tampa Bay Bucs signed him. After a couple of years with that lousy team, Young went off to the 49ers and sat behind Joe Montana. When Montana was hurt, and later when he was traded, all Young â€" who didn't have a strong arm, but could throw hard and could run harder â€" did was become the most accurate passer in NFL history and win a Super Bowl (with Mike Shanahan as his offensive coordinator).

Shanahan loves Tebow. (You can add your own line here.) Tebow is Steve Young, who was a leader, a competitor, a football player, a quarterback, an intelligent young man who commanded respect from the other players.

When Young retired, I went to San Francisco, and in his hotel room he told me that he still had that column I wrote about him in college. "You were the first one to really praise me as a QB."

You can say I'm name-dropping, and that's fine, but I've been around Young and Elway, and I see a lot of the same characteristics in Tebow. All he does is win.

That must not be enough for you, Robert. You would prefer an inside linebacker. The Broncos just signed a veteran inside linebacker, and they still have Mario Haggan on the team, and they will be fine there.

Football and sports are entertainment. What's more entertaining in the NFL than the drafting of Tim Tebow? It will give us something to follow for years, just as Elway's acquisition gave us something to wonder about, then enjoy, in the 1980s and 1990s.

Did you think JaMarcus Russell was going to be a great quarterback? A lot of people were wrong about him. The Raiders are giving up on him.

Kyle Orton is not the long-term solution here. We don't know, honestly, about Brady Quinn. The Broncos will use Tebow 10 to 12 plays a game his rookie season as a wildcat quarterback, a third-and-1 quarterback, a fourth-and-2 quarterback, a change of pace quarterback.

McDaniels will bust himself to make Tebow a better quarterback, and I know Tebow will bust everything he has to prove people wrong who are somewhere off in Atlanta.

Tebow is not that? You don't know. Maybe I don't know. But I do know you and I and everyone else reading this mailbag will pay attention to him, more than Sam Bradford or Colt McCoy or Rolando McClain, and there will be anti-Tebowers and pro-Timmys.

You'd rather take your chance with Brady Quinn and have a nose tackle. The Broncos have three nose tackles. How many do you want, and would you really care if they had drafted Dan Williams out of Tennessee? No.

It was worth the chance, because we're all going to have fun with this for years.

Besides, when I shook hands with Tebow the other day, I was stunned by the large size of his hands. He's not going to fumble.

Yes, he certainly did take that DWF (or jealous black guy) to task. Woody Paige portrays himself as a dope on the obnoxious Around The Horn show on ESPN. However, as this article proves, he can actually be rather articulate.

Well more evidence has come out about Tebow being a great athlete. There was a story on ESPN's "First Take" yesterday about Tebow taking some impromptu batting practice last week and hitting 12 home runs over the fence on 15 pitches. The story is that Tebow had not picked up a bat in five years yet several of his home runs were well over 400 yards.

More like a combination of Paul Bunyan and Herman Munster.

Tebow is a smart guy, I have seen many smart people do average on standardized tests. It doesn't make him average, it just means he is average at taking standardized tests. The same facts state that I have seen below average people score well on tests of this caliber. Tebow to me is more about intangibles. Its his personality that makes everyone around him raise their game, not about his scores on tests.

Once he shows his personality and gets the locker room behind him like he did in Florida the media will fall in line and eat their words.

Can someone please make me a Tebow avatar? I don't know how to make one small enough to fit here. I like this pic below but can't get it to fit. Thanks.

JREB1, you can download this program that might resize the picture for you. Once you have the picture opened in the program, choose "image" on the menu bar, then resize/resample. With the pic you have being so large, I do not know how it will look, though. I find when a picture is resized to fit the size requirements of the forum the distortion is gone.
