this guy has been mentioned in passing on a couple o' other threads, but i wanted to single him out for some praise. this kid is unreal. he plays wide receiver for Southlake Carroll in Texas, a perennial power "despite" being a white team. and you might recognize the name, 'cause his dad played in the NFL for the Cowboys.

his stats from last year: 72 catches; 1,472 yards; 23 touchdowns. wow!

He is also one of the top 300m hurdlers in Texas. He isn't getting any major looks from the top Div 1 colleges in the area, which is ashamed. Last I heard he was looking at UTEP, SMU, TCU, and Houston.

hmmm...i wonder what the problem is...he's 6'0" tall, runs a 4.4 40, has a tremendous pedigree, and is incredibly productive. but rivals.com only has him rated as a three star prospect. why is that? oh, yeah, i forgot. you have to be a lot darker to be a "real" wide receiver. unbelievable!!! maybe he needs to get a little more of a south-Texas suntan. jeez!

The problem with this guy is that he's to skinny. Last year he placed second in the 300 meter hurdles. He lost to Jamal Charles, the starting TB for the UT Longhorns. Jamal stands 6'2" and weighs 205 lbs. Clint Renfo is a beanpole he weighs maybe 150 lbs. wet. In order to play major D1 football he would need to put on at least 25 lbs. He has a very small frame that would not hold up to a major D1 schedule and DBs banging on him. I've seen him play against some elite DBs in the DFW area and once you bump him he's off the route an covered like a blanket. The yards he's gotten has been against slower secondaries that he plays against in his district. When faced against equal or faster DBs he's ordinary at best. That is why he is destined to go to a second tier program at best.

In your post in the College Football section on Southern White Athletes you wrote:

"A good example of this is elite football program will take a DE that is 6'4" and weighs 210 lbs. over an over achieving DE that is 6" and weighs 230 lbs. They can bulk the skinny propect up to a solid 285 after a couple of years in the program."

So I-A programs will take a skinny black prospect and bulk him up, but Clint Renfro is doomed to a "second tier program at best" because he's too skinny. Anything else you want us to know?

You already posted that. In fact, of your four posts thus far, all you've done is repeat yourself down to the exact words.

There's a lot of skinny receivers, in I-A and the NFL. The days of DBs doing much banging on receivers are over. Pretty amazing that a guy with 4.4 speed in high school can so easily be "covered like a blanket."

So you believe that only inner city black players are worthy of scholarships to big-time programs?

Keeping in mind that college recruiters want a prospect to dominate at all levels of competition. For example, if that 6'4" DE is dominating from the first game to last game of the season he'll get to offer and the time to redshirt. Renfro has not shown this consistency of play. When faced with players of equal or better skills he gets shut down because he's just to small. They bump him off his route and he's taken out of the play. Especially in Southlake's intricate timing based pass offense.

No not at all. I've seen quite a few players come out of West Texas that have gone on to have good success at theD1 level. -- My underlying point that I was trying to make is that Football is a game of power and speed. Those who have it succeed over those that don't. Having one or the other is great but it's more effective when you have both.

How profound! None of us here would have ever guessed that in a million years. And not only that you're omniscient, able to consign speedy white receivers to second tier schools in the blink of an eye. Oh do tell us more O Wise One!

There are plenty of small skinny black players in the NFL and college. They have neither power nor strength, what they have is black skin and that is an advantage when people like futbol_69 are judging talent.

"Renfro has not shown this consistency of play. When faced with players of equal or better skills he gets shut down because he's just to small."

If he runs a 4.4 forty how many "equally skilled players canthere be? Or do all black Texas football players run 4.4 forties?

Futbol69, you're full of it and have never seen this kid play. Isn't you're real name pugnus. Did you budge in front of anybody at Macdonald's today?

Name the teams he got shut down against and when and where you saw these games. Document what you say cause I don't believe you. Hard to believe a powerhouse team would start and star a reciever so easily covered. BTW, have you look at the size of some the NFL corners and RBs? Many of them are tiny black men about 5' nothing far below 6' tall.

He has gotten a couple commitments from smaller div one schools like baylor. But schools like Texas, Florida State, and USC would never give him a chance. I hope where ever he does he plays well.

FB_69 which games are you talking about? Was it the game against mostly black Denton Ryan (and 2004 playoff team) where Renfro got a measley 6 receptions for 191 yds? Or was it against powerhouse Midland Lee where he got 2 rec for 94 yds? Or was it against mostly black Plano East where he got 5 rec for 93 yds? Oh yes, I forgot the good teams shut him down. What about in the Semifinal game where he caught 7 rec. for 82 yds against Lufkin? Or maybe it was in the final game against all white Smithson Valley where he had 5 rec for 63 yds?

Face futbol, you're full of sh*t. The only team that slowed Renfro down was Denton Ryan in the playoff game (not the regular season game referenced above). Denton went into a deep zone defense and only gave Renfro the short passes. Why is that? Is it because the black Denton DBs where burned for 191 yds in the earlier game? They couldn't cover him.

I'll agree with you on this point. He is a little skinny and needs to bulk up a little. But he is like 6'1"-6'2" and will add weight as he matures. He will be a great collegiate player if anyone gives him a chance.

He was very productive last year. I think he had 73 catches/1560 yds/23 TDs. This year DBs have learned how to shut him down as I pointed out in my earlier post. He's not even the best receiver on his team. As of 10-4-05 he has 9 catches for 109 yrd and 1 td - his production is way off - it's not what major D1 programs want to see from a prospect. You also asked where I had seen him this year well I did get to see the lone Touchdown he's scored this year against Midland Lee. They play at Shotwell stadium in Abilene, TX as part of a double header that day. Other than that it's mostly been in the local paper - stats don't lie -- He's got speed but no power.

Where did southlake carrol QB Chase Daniel end up going. I haven't heard much about him since last year.

He's backing up Brad Smith at Missouri -- He got a couple of plays in this past weekend. FYI - Missouri runs the same exact offense the Daniel's HS, Southlake Carroll, runs.

Maybe the reasons are two fold: One, his QB from last year is gone. Second, maybe he is so good that he is drawing double coverage or zone/free coverage, which frees up his teammates to catch more passes. Either way, he is helping his offense. Edited by: SteveB

Your reaching, Southlake's QB this year is drawing D1 offers - it's not the QB or the coverage - southlake lines up with 4 receivers on almost every play. Teams don't have the luxury of double coverage - they play soft zones and hope for mistakes. As for Renfo - He's a serviceable player that will go to a 2nd tier D1 school at best.

Blacks don't have to be productive in high school or college to be high NFL draft picks. Here are the college stats of receivers who were projected to be picked in the second round of the '05 NFL Draft:

Roscoe Parrish of Miami (projected as the 36th overall pick): 340 receiving yards in '02, 322 in '03 and 693 in '04.

Jerome Mathis of Hampton (37th overall pick): 615 yards in '02, 977 in '03, 864 in '04.

Mark Bradley of Oklahoma (46th): 194 yards in '03, 491 in '04.

Roydell Williams of Tulane (47th): 886 receiving yards in '01, 151 in '02, 1,006 in '03, and 826 in '04.

Reggie Brown of Georgia (61st): 47 yards in '01, 296 in '02, 662 in '03, and 860 in '04.

That's one 1,000 yard season total for all five receivers combined for their college careers yet they are rewarded by being made into high NFL draft picks. Yet white receivers who are truly productive in college and are fast and athletic to boot, are never high draft picks. Isn't it amazing the abilities miraculously conferred on black football players solely by virtue of their racial background. . .

If Clint Renfro is having a down year, he would fit right in with the trajectories of these NFL receivers.

White, black, brown, or green the only trajectory that Renfro is headed to is to a lower tier D1 school at best. I here that he is seriously considering TCU, his dad's alma mater, or Baylor there a real powerhouse. Now, if he had some power to go with his speed he'd go top D1, but that's not the case today.

Guests, You have been identified properly as a troll and a lier. Clint Renfro stats are NOT because defenses have suddenly learned how to defend him. If you were watching the games like you said you were you would know this. Refro has been hampered by an injury. This is from the Sunstimes.com:

Carroll senior receiver Clint Renfro practiced Wednesday and "is ready to roll" for Friday's district opener against Fossil Ridge, said coach Todd Dodge.

Renfro caught a 45-yard touchdown pass in the Dragons' 31-0 win over Plano East on Sept. 9, but didn't play for the remainder of the game.

Renfro broke his collarbone during the off-season.

Oh, really? Is that why he already has around a dozen offers, and to such lower tier D1 schools as Georgia Tech and Missouri?

You don't know what you're talking about.

Clint Renfro has committed to his father's alma mater, TCU. TCU has recruited quite a few white skill players this year, so they should get a high grade from the caste football point of view. After signing day, I will do a post about TCU and their recruits.
