Whenever gems of wisdom like these occur to Mayweather-- the greatest font of human knowledge since Socrates -- I wish he'd just stop wasting time in calling a press conference or whatever to complain to the world, but would instead just tell Fedor, to his face.

But then Mayweather's 'poor-little-oppressed-black-me' act wouldn't get as much attention, I guess...

Cassius Clay was not as good like a lot of people think.Because when he was in Holland with promotors and he was fighting my granddads uncle the promotors did say to my granddad's uncles before and ofter one round and said it is just a promoting match and the dutch figher had to calm down and were also intimating him.what a joke.

In MMA fight forums you will be hard pressed to find anyone who agrees with Floyd and everyone I have read dismiss his comments as ridiculous.

I remember when Mayweather and his pops were portrayed by the media as the black version of the Cunninghams(from Happy Days). After James Prince and one jail stint for spousal abuse and many idiotic statements and future bankruptcy he is well on to his way to being a mini me version of Mike Tyson....

It's funny that you bring up Mayweather. Did you --

I would love to fight Mayweather, just because of the simple fact that I think he's a wienery cornhole.

He thinks that MMA was invented by white people because they couldn't win in boxing any more.

Well, I'm not a white person, and I will smash his ass. I don't care. His style of boxing is all built on getting people in the clinch. He'll hit them, and then he'll get in the clinch with them. Then the referee breaks them, and he'll hit them and grab them again. I think it's a great strategy. It's not clean boxing, but it's smart boxing. He's going to hit somebody and grab them in MMA, and he'll be done for. They'll take him down. That'll be all. I'll be on top of the list to fight him.

[That's from Miguel Torres. I want to see this fight happen]

Notice the Che Gueverra t-shirt Mayweather is wearing in the picture accompanying the article:

Threat by boxer alleged

Police investigate Sunday shooting

<DIV =story__intro>

A man who claims to be the target of a late-night shooting outside a Boulder Highway roller rink said Monday that boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. threatened his life less than an hour before shots were fired in the business's parking lot.

Quincey Williams, 24, said he encountered Mayweather at the Crystal Palace Skating Center on Sunday night. Williams said Mayweather immediately confronted him over a text message he had sent him two months ago. In the text message, Williams said he hoped that the undefeated Mayweather would lose.

<DIV =story__remaining>

Williams said he has known Mayweather for "more than a decade." Williams summed up what he claims Mayweather told him Sunday: "He's got enough money to get me hit."

Williams thinks the comment was a threat to his life.

Williams said Mayweather was at the rink with two bodyguards. When Williams left the rink with a friend, several shots were fired at their car. He said the shots came from the direction of Mayweather and his bodyguards, who were standing in the parking lot.

Williams did not see the shooter. No one was injured.

About 30 to 45 minutes passed between the confrontation Williams described and when the shots were fired.

Las Vegas police spokesman Bill Cassell confirmed late Monday that Williams was listed as one of the victims in the police report on the shooting. He declined to comment further. Police said Mayweather has been cooperative in their investigation. He is not a suspect in the shooting, police said.

Witnesses told police shots were fired after 10 p.m. at the skating center, 4680 Boulder Highway, north of Flamingo Road. Las Vegas police Lt. Patrick Charoen said Mayweather's Rolls-Royce was seen near the shooting scene. Another vehicle in the parking lot also was hit several times.

The police account of events reflects what Williams said transpired.

A manager for Mayweather could not be reached for comment late Monday.

Williams mother, Beatrice Turner, said her son and his friend were in a new-model BMW convertible when the passenger side of the car was hit five times. One bullet also struck the trunk, she said.

Turner said her son called her immediately after the shooting.

"He said: 'Mama, they shooting at the car,"' she said. "I told him don't stop that car because if you stop that car, they'll kill you."

Turner said her son and his friend drove to her home after the shooting and called police.

Police served a search warrant Monday at a residence owned by Mayweather in Southern Highlands, a master-planned community near Interstate 15 and Cactus Avenue. The warrant allowed police to search a vehicle owned by the boxer.

Police said they are seeking a suspect who is a "known associate" of Mayweather Promotions and who might use the nickname "O.C."

The suspect is a black man described as 6 feet tall and about 220 pounds. He has brown eyes and black, shoulder-length hair worn in dreadlocks, police said.

Williams was critical of the police investigation. "I don't understand why they went to his house and didn't arrest him," he said.

Williams thinks Mayweather knows the identity of the shooter and can help police find him.

"Floyd knows who he is. He works for Floyd."

Representatives at Crystal Palace declined to comment Monday.

Mayweather is slated to fight Juan Manuel Marquez on Sept. 19 at the MGM Grand.

On Aug. 2, Las Vegas police arrested Mayweather's uncle, 48-year-old Roger Mayweather, in connection with an attack on a female boxer he once trained. The victim in the attack was Melissa St. Vil, a police report said.

The report said Roger Mayweather, as a landlord, was upset that one of his tenants allowed St. Vil to move into an apartment on the 700 block of Rock Springs Drive, near Rainbow Boulevard and Washington Avenue.

A police report said Roger Mayweather prevented St. Vil from retreating to her bedroom. When she tried to push past him, he grabbed her, forced her into the living room and punched her several times in the ribs, the police report said. Roger Mayweather also "wrapped his hands around her throat, causing her to nearly pass out," the report said.

Anyone with any information concerning the Crystal Palace shooting is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 or the Las Vegas police Violent Crimes Section at 828-5634.

Of course Mayweather knows the identity of the shooter. He will not be charged with any crime though.

So now Mayweather is a racist and tried to have someone killed. Guess how many white kids will still consider him their hero? Edited by: whiteathlete33

Mayweather in legal trouble again, this time for regarding the payment of debts as optional.

Mayweather Jr. faces lawsuit for stopping payments on car

More than $167,000 sought on repossessed Mercedes worth $528,000

By OSKAR GARCIA
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. is being sued by a bank in Las Vegas for more than $167,000 unpaid on a loan for a half-million-dollar luxury car.

<DIV =story__intro>

Caleb Langsdale, a lawyer for JP Morgan Chase Bank, said in a lawsuit filed last week in Clark County District Court that the former five-division boxing champion bought the Mercedes Maybach 57S in February 2007 and stopped making monthly payments of more than $9,000 a year later.

<DIV =story__remaining>

The bank repossessed the vehicle in January, sold it for $196,000 and is seeking to recoup the difference, the lawsuit said.

A lawyer for Mayweather did not immediately respond Monday to a message seeking comment from The Associated Press. A representative for Mayweather said the boxer and his manager were not available.

Mayweather was in Los Angeles for an open workout to promote his comeback fight on Saturday against Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand Garden.

Langsdale declined to comment beyond what was in the lawsuit but said it was straightforward and needed to be served before a hearing would be set.

Mayweather borrowed more than $415,000 at 16 percent annual interest to buy the $528,000 sedan, according to a copy of the contract attached to the lawsuit.

A letter to Mayweather said he owed $363,000 when the car was repossessed, court documents said.

The lawsuit adds another entry on a list of debts attributed to the boxer nicknamed "Money." County records in Las Vegas show Mayweather has one unresolved lien with the Internal Revenue Service for $6.17 million in unpaid taxes from 2007. Other records show homeowners associations, the state of New Jersey and a trash collector have also claimed Mayweather did not pay bills.

Mayweather, returning to the ring after retiring last year, has said his upcoming fight is not about a big payday. His manager, Leonard Ellerbe, has disputed the documents and said he believes the public records to be inaccurate.

"I got a good relationship with the IRS; they ain't took nothing away from me," Mayweather said in a recent episode of HBO's Mayweather/Marquez 24/7, which is documenting the fighters as they prepare for Saturday's match.

During the same episode, Mayweather roller-skated through a new mansion and directly addressed the camera about his luxury lifestyle.

"We got the big boy mansion, we got Lambos, we got Rolls-Royces, we got a lot of stuff, but guess what? The difference between me and everybody else -- my (stuff) is paid for, what about yours?" he said.

Huh!?!

I had to go and watch the video to believe he really said that.

It's so disturbing. It's like he's walking around in some illusion world where blacks still dominate boxing and mixed martial arts isn't real fighting (even though it's closer to a real fight than boxing), and he works in that sport. I mean he sincerely believes it and there are a lot of people like him. It's more than just stupidity, it's brainwashing.

The Klitschko brothers are an absolutely amazing story. Brothers holding the heavyweight belt simultaneously. It's absolutely unprecedented. Can you imagine if they were black??

Mayweather: "Emanuel Steward is an Uncle Tom"

Welterweight star Floyd Mayweather Jr. continues to play the race card. He says the media and the general public are against him because of his skin color. He still feels that his status in the sport would be far greater if his skin color was white.

"Sometimes I'll sit back, I'll be in my theater sometimes, and I'll think: 'Imagine if I was the same fighter that I am, and I was the same person that I am, and I was from another country. Can you just imagine how big I'd be?' But I wouldn't change my life for nothing in the world. There's nothing like being young, black and rich. But there are certain things you think about. If Floyd Mayweather was white, I'd be the biggest athlete in America. The biggest, the biggest. I know that for a fact," Mayweather said to ESPN.com.

Mayweather complained that nobody treats him in a fair manner. He made this comparison to the media's longtime treatment of Oscar De La Hoya. He says the media crucifies him for every wrong move and overlooks all of De La Hoya's faults.

"One thing you never hear. You never hear anything negative about Oscar De La Hoya," Mayweather said. "Anything he do negative, it gets swept under the rug."

He then attacked the HBO broadcast team. He said Larry Merchant doesn't know anything about boxing and called trainer Emanuel Steward an "Uncle Tom,"Â￾ an obvious insult to Steward for not defending him enough on the air.

"Larry Merchant don't know nothing about boxing," Mayweather said. "What's that other guy's name [at HBO]? [Emanuel Steward]. He's an Uncle Tom. One thing you can't knock. You can not knock my talent."

Mayweather faces Juan Manuel Marquez on Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Wow. Mayweather is the most arrogant piece of sh-t on the planet. I really hope he loses. In response to his comments about De La Hoya I would have to say he has lost his mind. Oscar doesn't hang around criminals and involved himself in criminal activity like this prick.

These double standards are really getting to me. If a white fighter said anything even remotely like this he wouldn't have a career.Edited by: whiteathlete33

I don't know if this incident has been covered in another thread but I went back about 6 pages and decided to put it here:

MAYWEATHER ASSOCIATE: Prosecutors frustrated by release

State wasn't contacted for input before bail set in August shooting

Las Vegas prosecutors said they are frustrated they weren't included in bail discussions for a felony suspect who previously fled Nevada from a criminal investigation.

<DIV =story__intro>

Ocie Harris, a known associate of boxing champ Floyd Mayweather Jr. and a suspect in an August shooting at a roller rink, was extradited to Nevada from Chicago on Saturday on attempted murder and assault charges after a six-month Las Vegas police investigation.

But Tuesday in Justice Court, Harris was absent when Senior Judge Joseph Bonaventure Sr. called his name.

"Well, I don't know where he is," Bonaventure said. "Maybe it was a mistake from the jail."

But it was no mistake: Harris, 27, had posted bail on Sunday, less than 24 hours after arriving at Clark County Detention Center. A bench warrant for Harris was not issued Monday because of confusion on the court calendar regarding his warrant hearing. The case will be heard today.

Harris was arrested in Chicago in February and was being held without bail, but when he arrived in Las Vegas, Justice of the Peace Tony Abbatangelo set bail at $7,500 without consulting prosecutors.

"The state is surprised at the $7,500 bail setting, especially when the state was never contacted to give any input on what the appropriate bail setting should be," Deputy District Attorney Sam Bateman said.

Harris is the suspect in a shooting that occurred about 10 p.m. on Aug. 23 outside the Crystal Palace Skating Center on Boulder Highway, north of Flamingo Road.

Two men in a vehicle, Quincey Williams, 25, and Damein Bland, 36, reported being shot at while leaving the parking lot after a confrontation with Mayweather in which the boxer threatened Williams over a text message he'd sent a few months earlier. No one was injured in the shooting.

Mayweather told Williams, "Do you know who I am? I could have you trumped," an arrest report said.

Williams and Bland told police the shooter was a Mayweather employee named "O.C." who was the boxer's bodyguard.

More than 30 witnesses were interviewed in the investigation.

"While most of the witnesses did not observe all the events that led to the shooting, they all collectively told a story which was consistent with that of both victims," the report said.

Chief Deputy District Attorney Roy Nelson said it's frustrating to build a case, arrest a suspect in another state, extradite the suspect back to Nevada and then see the suspect given bail without a hearing.

Nelson said charges as serious as the ones Harris is facing -- attempted murder with a deadly weapon and assault with a deadly weapon -- generally bring a high bail amount.

The amount is usually around $100,000, prosecutors said, and a suspect can be held without bail, especially if he is a flight risk.

"He's already shown he's a flight risk, but here we are, on a Saturday, giving him bail. And he's already out," Nelson said.

"Bail is usually set in court, and for a charge like this, it's usually a heck of a lot more than that ($7,500)," he said.

Why Abbatangelo set bail is unknown. Messages left at his office were not returned.

Harris' lawyer, Tom Pitaro, said he'll answer bail questions in court today.

Pitaro was asked if he requested a bail reduction from a judge, despite the fact the state had asked no bail be set pending the warrant hearing.

"The Constitution doesn't say he can't (receive bail), does it?" he said, adding that the charges Harris face do not prohibit bail. "If that's going to be an issue I'd rather make my arguments to the court."

The relationship between Abbatangelo and Pitaro has not always been judge-counselor; it was once defendant-lawyer.

Pitaro was Abbatangelo's attorney during Abbatangelo's domestic violence case in 2008 and 2009.

Abbatangelo was accused of attacking his wife at the couple's home in November 2008. His wife of 13 years told authorities that he grabbed her by the neck, choked her and screamed at her during a fight.

He was sentenced to spend two days in jail after he pleaded no contest to one count of misdemeanor battery domestic violence.

Pitaro did not respond to later calls seeking comment about his relationship with Abbatangelo.

There have been few official statements regarding Mayweather's involvement with Harris. Mayweather is not a suspect in the investigation.

The boxer told police he was at the skating rink the night of the shooting but "didn't know an Ocie and was unaware of any shooting," a police report said.

But when police searched Mayweather's Southern Highlands home, they recovered surveillance footage from his security gate that showed Harris at the residence on four separate occasions before the shooting, the report said.

A representative for Mayweather did not answer calls seeking comment Tuesday.

Nelson said Harris' bail was paid by Chicago resident Nate Jones. Police have confirmed that Jones is a former Olympic boxing teammate of Mayweather's, and currently works with Mayweather as a trainer in Las Vegas.

Bail will likely be discussed in public today, when attorneys meet before Bonaventure for the warrant hearing.

Nelson said it's possible Bonaventure could revoke bail, but he could defer to Abbatangelo, who was absent Tuesday but is the sitting judge in this case.

Lt. George Castro, who oversaw the investigation into Harris, said it was unfortunate detectives were not given a chance to question Harris about the case before bail was set, but he remains certain police have presented a strong case to the district attorney.

"We can't worry about parts we can't control," he said.

MAYWEATHER'S UNCLE GETS ONE FELONY CHARGE DROPPED

A district judge Tuesday dropped one of three felony charges against the uncle of famed champion boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

Roger Mayweather still faces one count each of battery with substantial bodily harm and battery after being accused of choking a former female trainee.

The 48-year-old has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Judge Valerie Adair agreed with defense attorney Jack Buchanan that prosecutors did not present enough evidence during a preliminary hearing to support a charge of coercion against the defendant, according to court records.

Authorities allege Roger Mayweather choked and punched 26-year-old fighter Melissa St. Vil on Aug. 2 at her apartment in the 700 block of Rock Springs Drive, near Rainbow Boulevard and Washington Avenue.

Roger Mayweather owned the property and rented it out to a man who was letting St. Vil live there.

Prior to the incident, St. Vil had trained under Roger Mayweather until May when she left for a new trainer.

Authorities allege Roger Mayweather was upset that St. Vil was still living at his property. He allegedly confronted her and a physical altercation took place.

He remains out of jail on $13,000 bail. A trial date was set for Aug. 2.

And just imagine if there was no affirmative action in the NFL, NBA and other professional sports. The fact that these "student-affletes" (ahem) even get into college in the first place is stupefying (and probably unethical too, considering most read at an 8th grade level, while White student-athletes bust their ass academically, taking time away from physical training to be a more well-rounded individual and truly put the "student" in "student-athlete".)

Also, the amount of effort and money it takes just to keep these "student-affletes" head's above water, academically, via "Academic Centers" in Universities that cost in the 10's of millions of dollars, is staggering.

Finally, Gayweather should realize that, yes, Whites did invent the UFC/MMA, but not for the reason he says (as proven above.) It is simply that Whites like to invent things. It comes natural to us. Outside of the "sport" of "shucking and jiving", what sports have blacks invented?

Highlander, good insight! I'd LOVE to see "Prettymouth Gayweather" grow a set of (real) stones and climb in the cage vs. any UFC or WEC Lightweight, Featherweight or Welterweight. I can just imagine what GSP, Penn or Urijah Faber would do to this smack-talkin', overrated @$$ clown!

Floyd Mayweather getting away with racist comments like this (plus the comments he made about East Asians) illustrates the double standards regarding race in America.
