Good night for whites as Joe Stevenson beat Nate Diaz (who is a very white Hispanic)and Ross Pearson beat Andre Winner (a mulatto from England) to win the TUF series at lightweight.

Hopefully Guida pulls it out against Sanchez.

Guida lost a split decision (again) to Diego Sanchez. I thought Guida won 29-28. Hard to derail the pre-fight hype setting up Sanchez v Florian / Penn though. Just sayin'...

Stevenson is a half-breed American Indian I think. Diaz is actually whiter than he is but as far as douche-baggery goes Diaz is way ahead of Stevenson, who seems like a decent guy.

Wilks won his fight as well against Damarques, too, another good win.

In the first couple seconds of the fight, Clay Guida took one of the worst poundings I've seen in the lighweight division....and still didnt get KO'ed. His chin is unreal. Despite that first round, the fight was pretty damn close. Sanchez might have edged him out. Guida lost alot of blood and certainly took the worst of the damage.

How he survived those early punches (and the elbows he took later) is truely a miracle.

I'm pissed I missed this event. Clay Guida is the man.

Guida is one of my favorite LWs. I love his ceaseless aggressiveness & toughness. Diego's a douchebag IMO. Nate Diaz is a punk, but a good fighter (especially on the mat). However, he has zero power on his punches & is a bit frail. It was good to see Pearson win.

I agree, Stevenson seems like a good guy. I thought he out struck Sanchez in their recent bout and stuffed Sanchez's take downs. I would love for Sanchez to fight GSP but White is letting him take years to prepare as Sanchez knows he will badly hurt and humiliated.

Sanchez dropped to lightweight, he won't be fighting GSP any time soon. Diego is expected to be up next for a shot at the LW title after the BJ Penn / Kenny Florian fight in August.

Sanchez seems to think he will "own" Florian again if and when they have a rematch as lightweights. When they first fought years ago as the first TUF finalists, Florian was fighting about 15 lbs or so above his weight class and he has greatly improved since then. Nobody in the lightweight division "owns" Florian and it's kinda stupid for Diego to keep saying he does years after their first fight where Diego had all the advantages.

Sanchez ducked outta Middleweight because he knew full well GSP would obliterate him! BTW, my $ is on KenFlo...he has better pure striking and BJJ. Diego's more aggressive & slightly stronger, but KenFlo's MTKB is solid & BJJ top notch.

Very fair comment to say Florian is not the same man he was. Has he improved! Sanchez though, still fights pretty much the same as he did when he was a TUFF competitor.

I don't know Maple Leaf, I think Diego has improved a great deal since he was on TUF. He was more of a wrestler back then I believe, and now he has trained and focused more on his stand up. He has also earned a brown belt in BJJ since then.

Diego has a very good standup game right now, just ask Joe Riggs and take a look at Guida's face after the fight. He's no longer the one dimensional ground and pound wrestler he was in TUF.

Diego has improved, but his striking isn't as crisp as KFlo's. Sanchez had a BJJ black belt under Greg Jackson & voluntarily reverted to White belt when he began training under BJJ guru Xande Ribeiro. Sanchez has worked back up to a Brown belt, so BJJ may be even at this point. It would be an interesting match-up.
