saunders is an excellent prospect at middleweight from england, and he is only 19 years old. His pro debut is on youtube and is an impressive. He was on the olympic team from england in 2008.

This might not be a good comparison:

Kelly Pavlik was 18 when he turned pro in 2000. It took 7 long years before Pavlik finally earned a title shot, and became champion.

This BJ Saunders is 19, he might undergo the same journey, 7 years before he's in for a title shot.

And if Saunders were black, he'd have a shot after 12-20 fights. The powers that be make sure, or at least try to make sure white prospects are shopworn by the time they are finally given a chance at a title.

Bob Arum made a statement that it had been hard to get Pavlik matched against good fighter so his develope could proceed. Hopefully the Europeans do not have quite the level of obstacles in this regard.

Saunders actually boxes at Welter,,a division that has always been starved of white talent.Saunders is a very precocious talent who was ranked as the worlds no1 p4p in the amateurs as a junior where he was unstoppable schooling the best that Russia,Cuba and the US had to offer.He has a very pro style,quite flashy similar to Lomachenko the gold medalist from Ukraine,uses angles and can put fast accurate combos together.

Britain has some very good young prospects coming up in Fury,David Price,George Groves,Joe Murray,Bradley Saunders,Nathan Cleverly,Darren Barker,Craig Mcewan,Paul mccloskey,Kenny Anderson,Tony Jeffries,Frankie Gavin,Jamie Cox.Hopefully many of these guys will take the reigns from Hatton,Calzaghe etc as the next generation of boxing stars.

another good prospect is paul appleby from scotland.

Moose how is appleby doing?? I remember hearing about him on this forum, but it has deffinitely been a while since i have heard an update.

there are a lot of his fights on youtube and he won the british featherweight title last summer and has a fight scheduled for this spring.

Saunders fights on Dec 5th. His opponent will be Lee Noble 11-12(2).
