Here are some results from Friday. Only a few finals were run. The white women swept the 60 hurdles, shot put, pentathalon. They will probably sweep the triple jump, 800 meters and most other events tommorow.

The men also did well. Our weakest result so far was the 60 hurdles finals. We only had 1 guy win a medal.Petr Svoboda won the bronze. He should have won the gold but he hit the 3rd hurdle and it cost him. Borisov came in 5th but he still has the fastest time of anyone in Europe. The 400 saw David Gillick(Ireland)the defending champion, collide with an opponent. He is out of the competition. We have everyone else through to the final. It should be a race between Wissman(Sweden) and Licciardello(Italy)! These guys can fly.

Tommorow will be very exciting. The quarter and semi finals of the 60 will take place. I want to see Pickering run a personal best and see most of our guys advance to the finals. The women 60 will be interesting as well. I will try to post a link to watch it live.

I should get paid for this. Hehehehe. Enjoy it my brothers! Hopefully at least a few of you guys can watch this great track meet. The Saturday events should be starting in the next few hours as they are in Italy which is far ahead of the United States time wise.

Let me get some cold ones and some munchies and I'm ready. I'm anxious to see how 18 year old Christophe Lemaitre does. He has Chambers in his heat. Tough draw but it might lead to a new p.b. if he doesn't get too nervous. Come on Lemaitre!

Just watched the semis of the 60meters.
Unfortunately Chambers looks like a 'lock' for the gold.
He set a European record in the semis.
Pickering qualified for the final, but he justs didn't getting up to full speed fast enough to have much of a chance in a short race like this.
I can't understand why he hasn't improved this part of his race.....argh...I'm a little frustrated by that!Edited by: jacknyc

Well we have Pickering,Cerutti,DeGregario,Kuc and Guliyev in the finals. As you said, the drug cheat Dwain Chambers just blew the field away. The crazy thing is that he is way faster now than when he was on drugs a few years back. I bet anything that he is juiced to the gills on another undectable ped. He is flipping 30 years of age but is untouchable. Too hard to belive for me.

I think Craig is saving his best for the finals. I would love to see Craig and Fabio Cerutti both get a medal and for them both to run new personal bests!Edited by: white lightning

Chambers throws down a 6.42. Wow. Maurice Greene's gonna have a sleepless night tonight now that his 6.39 WR is in jeopardy.

Johan Wissman just destroyed the field. I would have liked to have seen Gillick there to push him even more. I was happy to see Claudo get the silver in front of his home country. He is one to watch for sure.

Don't get too frustrated over Pickering or Cerutti's times. Both run 6.50 times usually and they both seem to just be saving it for tommorow. Can they catch Chambers? Probably not because he takes flinstones, and geritol, but drug cheats don't count anyway. I see a very fast race tommorow!

It's too bad about Paul Hession and Stefan Schwaub who both missed the finals by the blink of an eye. That is how the 60 is. Christophe Lemaitre just is too slow of a starter at the moment to win alot of 60 races. He will do far better outdoors in the 100 & 200. Just making the semi finals at 18 is a good showing however.

The womens finals will be hot! I hope Verena Sailer wins. She is only 23 and along with Christian Blum, the best sprinter in Germany. She has the potential to run with the best in the world very soon. Not to mention that I think she is hot! Ok, too much info.

Yeah I agree with the Chambers hypothesis. He is running faster now then when he has admitted he was doing drugs. To top it off he is around 30 y.o now. I think a 60 and 100 meter sprinters prime is from maybe 23 to 29 or so. I think it is a good hypothesis that Chambers has found another undetectable flinstone.

Chambers is on the thing that Bolt and Powell are on. give it time and they will get caught again. Chamber is the biggest I've ever seen him. anyone thinks he is clean, I"ve got a bridge they can buy. I hope his legs cramp in the final.

come on Dwain, who do you think your fooling. he just took .12 of his best 60m. .12 in the 100m is a huge improvement, in the 60m its just crazy. at 30 years old!!! he must be importing some of those Yams Bolt has been eating.

Chambers looks too vascular for a clean athlete. He IMO looks smaller than he did when he was busted. He used to have a chest that would make Wendy Whoppers blush.....

I couldn't get a pic of him to upload so I tried the link and that's no good. if you go to iaaf.org and click the link for the euro indoor day 2 pm and below the pic of Donato there is a really good pic of Chambers at Torino looking all jacked up on roids. I personaly feel this is the biggest he has ever been. it would be absolutely ridicules to think this guy was clean. he is on the new and improved PED that the Jamaican national team is taking. aka The Yams!

Chambers wins it.
But the 2 Italians, Cerutti and DiGregorio got 2nd and 3rd, both 6.56.
Pickering a disappointing, but not surprising 5th in 6.61.Edited by: jacknyc

Unnoticed was 7th placegetter in 6.67 , an 18 year old from one of the
former Soviet states (AZE).

And how about that Beamonesque long jump of 8.71 by the German,
Bayer. His recently set PB was 8.17 till today.

Don't get too discouraged guys. We are making progress. In virtually every event in both mens and womens, we excelled! We just had another guy go into the 6.50's range and we won silver and bronze. Cerutti will be a force outdoors. Pickering may be struggling by it is still mainly his start that is killing him. He went from 8th position to 5th over the last 20 meters. He still has that amazing closing speed but in the 60 there is no room for error. They will get it worked out eventually. All of his races should be in the 6.50's range if he started out of the blocks like normal.

Wissman put on quite a show. He looked dominant. 2 of the 3 women who medaled in the 60 were white and 7 of the 8 in the race. We swept all of the major jumping events on both sides. Bayer was simply a beast. What a jump. Humans can fly!

If only White Americans would get more involved in Athletics, we would see these kind of performances on a regular basis. Thank God for Europe with their strong women and men. They do not back down. Even after Chambers won, alot of the other sprinters were not happy. This is great. We are seeing a new generation of athletes that belive they can do anything. They can compete. We will win more consistantly as long as the numbers of young Euro Men & Women continue to excel. Whites are the greatest athletes in the world in my opinion and we can compete period!

I admire your optimism, white lightning.

I wish I could as, but I'll try, Europe has indeed many outstanding men and women in the track and field front. They are not content with 2nd or 3rd place, they want 1ST PLACE!!!!

Pickering needs to improve his reaction time, and worry less about false starts. Cerutti was just brilliant, and Bayer's Hail Mary jump is truly a sight to behold. This white generation wants it all, GOLD, and NUMERO UNO!!!!

Shame on White Americans, are they getting too lazy, too FAT, or just too discouraged easily? I'd like them to start getting off their butts and star running and jumping.

I just watched the 60m race on youtube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VtwdsSV18M
Pickering (and Kuc) was several meters back after just 10-15 meters into the race. It is not his start or reaction time that is the problem - it is his 'drive' phase. He justs takes too long to get up to speed. He must improve this part of his race. He has great closing speed, but at the top level, you have to have be strong in all parts of your race. This has always been his weakness and I can't believe his coach hasn't worked on this more with him.
Kuc was the only one worse than Pickering in the beginning part of the race and they both closed quickly.
Congrats to Cerutti and DiGregorio though. We have 2 new guys to root for!

Good news! I had completely given up on sprinting. Maybe our guys can take whatever those black juicers are taking.

I'll add a cheer for our European brothers. Whether in sprinting, basketball or boxing they either own the blacks or at least hang with them.

White Americans must take a look in the mirror. Yes, there is a caste system and, yes, our athletes get screwed out of opportunities, scholarships, resources ...etc. But we have the same genes as our Euro brothers and they surpass the supposedly superior black athlete.

White Americans do own blacks in some sports (wrestling, MMA, baseball, high school football ...). We have pulled almost even in boxing (all Americans are pretty pathetic compared to the Europeans now). Why can't we hang in sprinting and basketball?
