Well, that was pointless. I'm reaffirmed in my hatred for those that would push fight sports on women, Kim Couture battered this sheepish lady who wasn't anywhere near ready mentally for competition. Scott Smith ko'ed Martin in like 5 seconds, hell if I was paying attention at that point. What really stood out was when he gave a shout out to his "friends" that just got "married" "Tom and his life-long partner Lance!" I was rolling, as they say. Babalu took the belt with a tko by cut, Duane Ludwig decisioned Yves Edwards (apparently "Thugjitsu" is a technique emphasizing drawn out, long, awkward, hugs to your opponent), and everything was just bad in general.

It was a pretty depressing show, I hope affliction comes back in january to give the UFC some real competition.Edited by: nopictures

I was interested, I just didn't post before the fight. Matter of fact, I have you to thank for reminding me the fights were on tonight.

I actually enjoyed the fights though, thought most of them were decent fights. The Riggs fight was entertaining, kind of glad to see him get the win.

I thought they were going to give the W to Yves for lay n pray but they gave it to Bang in a 29-28 UD. And yes, lol @ 'Thug Juitsu.' Maybe Yves needs to go back and train in BJJ again.

You are right about the Couture fight. I thought it hilarious that Bas and his partner kept saying how relaxed Kvokov appeared, that she was 'ready.' I thought she looked scared from the very beginning, before the fight even started she looked like she was going to hyper-ventilate. Struck me as a formerly battered housewife who decided she wasn't going to take it anymore and started 'training.'

I'm not real interested in seeing Bobby Southworth fight again though. 4:40 of hugging, one elbow and the fights over, lol.

And yeah, I'm wondering if Smith was joking or serious. Tom Atencio is the VP of Affliction. Smith also sent a 'shout out' to his Tae Bo coach, so I'm thinking this all might have been in jest.

Yeah I'm still pissed about that Couture fight, whoever put that lady up to that is messed up, unless of course she just convinced herself. She was clearly afraid from the very beginning, that was a sad thing to watch. I was a little hard on the show but it wasn't really horrible, especially with the always entertaining Bas Rutten in the booth, I was just disappointed in the Sobral/Southworth and the Ludwig/Edwards fight, Edwards is no wrestler, he should have taken his beating like a man

Yeah, those knees to the body hurt him. I wouldn't be surprised if Bang broke a couple of Yves' ribs.

I saw Yves double over after that one knee, I can't say I blame him for avoiding standing up against Duane after those, I sure as hell wouldn't. I didn't catch that tae bo remark, Smith might have just been trying to make things awkward for his friends who were in the bar watching him, I say that because I can't imagine him joking like that about Atencio, as androgynous as he is, either way that was funny as hell. Also a great knockout, even if the guy he was facing is the poster boy for getting knocked out. At the end of the day it wasn't all bad and Gina Carano made things easy on the eyes as well.
