Kimbo is a big joke. When does that guy fight a decent fighter?

Shamrock isn't even a HW, if this fight goes longer than 2 minutes Kimbo should retire.

Don't sell Shamrock too short. If he somehow gets Kimbo to the ground, Ken's a master at putting on the leg lock. If that happens, Kimbo will be screaming and tapping. I would love to see that happen on live network tv. It's not a prediction, I just think Shamrock has a chance.

I'm sorry Aragorn, but I think Ken is being paid to lose. He knows what he is supposed to do. He will be KO'd in under 2 minutes. I'm not sure I even want to see this fight.

Just my opinion.

A blatant set up to immasculate a white former legend on network tv, I specify white because the trend of feeding kimbo white guys either way past their prime, or who have little talent, or both, they were originally thinking of setting Kimbo up to fight Sean Gannon (the white guy that kicked his ass who dropped off the map soon afterwards).

If Shamrock wins I'll eat my hat. Assuming I'm wearing one at the time of his unlikely victory, though I will admit I'm not one partial to wearing hats.

Ken hasn't submitted anyone with his leg locks since 1996.

His last fight in England, where he got easily KOed by a talentless former body builder, is proof that he has nothing left.
Kimbo's team picked Shamrock for the same reason they picked Tank Abbott : It's a safe fight.

Shamrock may truly have nothing left but are you suggesting that Shamrock is throwing the fight for money? I think he has more integrity than that.I sure hope so anyway. Besides what a way to go out for Shamrock, to beat this overhyped brawler with very little MMA skills to speak of. Do I think Shamrock will win, no I don't. But I have been wrong many times guessing the outcomes of MMA fights, so have alot of people on this board.

I don't think he has been told that he'll receive extra pay for actually throwing the fight, but I think it's just a payday to him, he knows it's a payday, he knows he isn't supposed to win, i.e. he knows he s being paid to lose. And he will, I think, in Bo Cantrell-like fashion.

The truth is though it won't take much to KO Shamrock now anyway. One good uppercut from Kimbo is probably all it will take.

Kimbozo is a joke he is fighting Shamrock because he knows it's an easy win. He was talking about how he is ready to fight Brett Rogers and now he wussed out of it. He hides behide his people. Shamrock is a big name with little talent. Everyone includeing Las Vegas knows Kimbo doesn't stand a chance against Rogers.

facts about Shamrock.
He's 44 years old.
Has stopped training with guys like Roy Nelson at Lions Den because he's getting beat up so badly.
record 2-8 in his last 10.
his last five fights hes been koed in the first round.
of the two victories one was against a guys who's record is 7-25. The other was against Kimo who I think is the most over-rated fighter ever.
Along with that Shamrock has no standup what so ever. his striking is on the level of Blake Bowmen.
On a personal note I think this is just Bas Rutton tring to get revenge for never being able to beat Shamrock in the 90s.

It's hard to argue with that post. Shamrock is clearly a shadow of his former self. Unlike Couture, he doesn't appear to be getting better with age.

I do disagree with your notion that Shamrock has no standup. That standup war he had with Don Frye in Pride was incredible and he took as well as he gave in that one. Yes I know that was along time ago but it does prove he has some standup ability. I still think he has a 15% chance of beating Kimbo if Shamrock shows up to the fight in shape and with a game plan and not just a payday and swansong. I hope his pride kicks in.

Isn't this fight very dangerous for Kimbo then? Imagine if he loses to some over the hill white guy who lost most of his recent bouts?

It would be hard to recover from that blow, even with all of his "publicists" hyping him up.

This is the same Kimbo Slice that lost to Sean Gannon, im going with Shamrock unless he shows up out of shape.

He has to fight somebody, they sure don't want to fight fellow EliteXC heavyweight Brett Rogers although he is very much deserving of a shot against Kimbo. I just hate the thought of the legend and MMA pioneer Shamrock being anybody's tomato can. A severe beatdown by Kimbo would take some of the luster of of Shamrocks eventual entry into the MMA Hall of Fame. I am sure the UFC will come up with a HOF in years to come.

Ken Shamrock is already in the UFC Hall of Fame. I don't know if you meant an actual 'buildiing' Hall of Fame, or just a 'Hall of Fame,' but the UFC already has a HOF with five inductees so far:

Dan Severn
Mark Coleman
Royce Gracie
Ken Shamrock
Randy Couture

UFC Hall of Fame

A lot of what I am hearing from people that train in other gyms is that Kimbo has not looked very impressive. When Dana White told everyone about how Kimbo got KOed in a sparring session with Forrest Griffen, it upset both Bas Rutton and all of the guys at Elitexc. Now Kimbo is no longer aloud to spar with anyone associated with any other organization.

Well a actual building and place for people to go to remember these MMA pioneers would be much more meaningful than just words on paper that these guys are in the UFC HOF. I live about a hour from Cleveland and they have a Building to go to for the Rock and Rolll Hall of Fame and I live about 45 minutes from Canton where the NFL HOF building is. I am hoping the UFC will maybe do something similar in maybe Vegas someday.

Shamrock is a recognized name and not much of striking threat anymore so Bimbo's managers think it is a safe fight. On the ground Bimbo doesn't stand a chance with MMA welterweights. Shamrock could win on the ground but it is very unlikely he will get the fight there. Outside of professional wrestling, it is very difficult from a legal contractual position to pay someone to lose so I expect Shamrock is fighting with good intentions to win. Good luck to him but he doesn't have the chin anymore at his age to exchange with a fresher brawler.

I'm not sure why there is such opposition to the thought that Ken Shamrock might take this fight just for the money. I don't think Bo Cantrell signed a contract that said 'You will take a punch in the shoulder, fall down and go into the fetal position for $150,000.' But there is no doubt that Cantrell did not fight to win in his 'fight' with Kimbo Slice.

I don't think Shamrock signed a contract to lose, but I don't think he needs a contract to know what his role is in this fight.

I will be happy to come back to this thread and eat crow if Shamrock even some how makes a fight of it, as opposed to eating an uppercut or two and getting KTFO. He doesn't even have to win. If he manages to win, hell I'll have two servings of blackbird pie, thank you very much.

If you guys are confident that Ken is coming to bring the pain, would you put money on it?

I'm not sure Ken was outright told to throw this fight, but I think he understands his "role" here (to keep the overhyped "BimboLice" gravy train rolling). I hope I'm wrong about and Ken pulls a victory (& exposes that fraud Lice). However, no doubt the Lice camp selected Shamrock for his name recognition & an anticipated "big" win for "Bimbo". They also know Roger would tear Lice's ugly knoggin off, so they're ducking him.

No, I wouldn't put any money on it. Which is pretty much consistent with what I have posted on this thread, I think Shamrock has a outside chance of winning this fight(15%) but I like my odds a little better than that when I bet unless I have a hunch or something.

Guys just know they don't have it and don't dig deep when they are rocked. In boxing Ray Mercer is at about the same level as Shamrock and rolls over and dies in the same way. The only shot old guy I have seen that still has the eye of the tiger is Holyfield and he is just delusional and crazy.

SimpBo Vice will wait for Shamrock to shoot in at his feet, then drop some combos on Ken's head end of fight. Or SimpBo Vice will wait for Shamrock to engage in a clinch, then upper-cut, left hook him...End of fight. It's sad that a warrior like Shamrock has to enter the ring after so many battles. Ken is shot, he gave us all the best he had years ago. SimpBo Vice would not have stood a chance against a younger Shamrock, but he will eat him up and it will not take much to knock Ken out.

I guess Shamrock is just on his last breath trying to score one more big payday before he completely disappears.

Anytime you pit someone against a fighter who is ten years past their prime is usually a "safe" fight. I'm still waiting for Bimbo Slice to fight someone "legit" like Randy or Frank Mir, but that would be more like a suicide fight for Kimbo.
