"Women weaken legs, Rock!" At least the US readers are going to get why, after reading this quote, I've decided that Pierre Carraz's resemblance to Mick in the Rocky movies is more than merely physical:

Pierre Carraz recalls: "Before the London Olympics in 2012, he had a 19'91 in a meeting, he had become very strong. But his girlfriend came down south for an internship and he ate (no) more. He lost 3 kilos. In London he had no more strength. "

Of course, there's something to be said for the wisdom of these crusty, old coaches. Studies have now shown that refraining from sex (or any orgasm) for a few days causes testosterone levels to double. LeMaitre's pre-London sexfest apparently destroyed him, at a time when he seemed like a certainty for a medal. I hope it was worth it.

Another quote from the article mentions LeMaitre's training. Some of the words don't seem translated correctly, but I don't have a sports vocabulary in French:

Trade secret? Race, series, cladding, stretching. Classic, after all. Little weight "because it slows down." And these elastic back for draw weight like a convict. While old method, but it works. The National Institute of Sport, expertise and performance in Paris is this too, but more computerized and with cables. INSEP has done much to recover the Savoyard nugget. Without success. "Christophe's sponsors also wanted it moved to Paris, for them the capital was better to champion a town of 35,000 inhabitants," says Pierre Carraz.
Bolt is known cad, I couldn't find anything about any antics where prostitution is legal and loose morals are celebrated but I have a story about 3 slutty Swedes "partying" with Usain......http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/ol...m-gold-with-Swedish-womens-handball-team.html

Press point Christophe Lemaitre (100 m)

The trip back from Rio has been tough, I had some trouble with air conditioning. So now, I’m a little in the hard. I have been motivated all along the season, even in difficult times. There was no reason that doesn’t go out. It came at the best time, in Rio. I left Rio very happy, with no regrets. But I’m already back to earth, because my career is not done, I still have great things to achieve. I’m gonna start the race on Saturday evening on 100 m with no pressure at all. I got what I wanted, so I’m relieved and I can run easily. Now I want to keep that kind of mood for the future, running without asking myself too much questions, not focusing on a result but doing what it needs to deliver. I also come for the french crowd. A lot of people stayed late and woke up early to support us. I want to thank them.

I'm gonna say he runs 9.99 wind legal.
He won't run fast, in newspaper lequipe they said that he came to the itw before the meeting with a box of kleenex, he has runny nose, maybe a little bit sick, and he said that he wouldn't have run if it wasn't in Paris..
but otherwise he said that he is more motivated than ever for the rest of his career, and that he will "let it go" and be more relaxed when it comes to his races in the future

Interesting facts from this interview :

http://www.leparisien.fr/sports/ma-plus-belle-emotion-27-08-2016-6072411.php

- First he has a cold, so I expect a bad performance this evening, something in the high 10'1X and I won't be surprise if he ends last because there is only top guys with him.

- Second, he says that during the last years, his legs were always heavy before doing a race because he was training too much. Too much weight lifting, too much endurance training. The result was bad because he was probably suffering from overtraining. I have no doubt he is a natural athlet, when you are natty, your ability to recover is slow and it gets slower when you age.

It was frustating for him, because he thought he was doing well, training hard "no pain no gain" mentality, finally it did not work well.

Now they have decided to come back to basic training like 5 years ago and probably with more time to recover. He will probably get closer to 10'00 and 20'00 later in the season or maybe the next season.

It's a good decision to not run. He should have some time to relax and enjoy his medal. He has nothing to prove now and he's earned the right for a break!

Christophe is sick and tired, he hopes to run in Berlin

He wanted to run for the public but he couldn't (lake of energy)

Here's the video. As always, the problem was the start, and this one was one of his worst ever. He was waaay behind after just two or three steps. Ah, if only there were such thing as a "running start 100m race." He'd be a gold medalist at that.

Christophe Lemaitre finished 3rd on 100 m in Berlin Saturday evening in 10″19 (wind + 0,4 m/s), behind Kim Collins (10″07) and Joël Fearon (10″16).
For his first race since the Olympic Games, Christophe was a little bit ill. So, he couldn’t hope a good time. Furthermore, he hasn’t got a real training session since returning to Rio.
“It’s not so bad in view of my shape, he said to Le Dauphiné Libéré. I made a technical mistake in the beginning of the race but I finished well.”
On Tuesday, Christophe will run the 200 m in Zagreb. And on FRiday, he’ll race the Diamond League final in Brussels, always on 200 m.

I don't find he has a good second part of course in Berlin, we will see toninght in Zagreb.

Let's be honest . . . Lemaitre really has only run well once this entire year.
Fortunately and thankfully, that one time was at the Olympics! Thank goodness for that.
But outside the bronze medal at the Olympics, nothing has changed.
He is not the Lemaitre of several years ago. He is not as fast as he used to be, and he is not improving.
However, it does seem that his coach is somehow able to get him to peak form once a year for whatever major championship is happening.

Here's the video of this truly terrible race. It's even worse than the 100. There wasn't anyone in this field that he shouldn't be able to beat while running with lead shoes. He just looked really slow. Can't imagine what his excuse is. He's been sick ever since the Olympics, which were ages ago? What's he got this time? Ebola? I really thought he'd finally turned things around, too. I'm just dumbfounded by these results.

Christophe said

"A poor 4th place at the Zagreb meeting in 20 s43 but this is my current form. Legs cut off and i'm still a bit sick. We'll try to do better at the next meeting in Brussels"

He reminds me of an aging fighter that fights one tough fight a year because his body can't handle a tough training camp. At one time before the new PED programs 26 was viewed as over the hill in sprinting. Obviously winning a bronze medal when your best world level is that doesn't mean you are past your peak but his form in other races shows that his physical abilities have clearly crested.
