I think he will be a champion.Has unreal punch power from what ive read and seen. What obviously makes him such a big puncher is that he's 260lbs which is huge but has the handspeed to go with it.Tyson and Morrison who were great k.o puchers weighed around 217 and 226 respectively during their primes so 260 behind a punch is alot of weight. He's based in the US so he should get decent exposure despite being foreign.

Yasit's a lot like George Foreman in the 70s when he was 225lb and fighting men around 190lb to 200lb.....

From fightnews:

"In a heavyweight attraction, heavyweight Magomed Abdusalamov (10-0, 10 KOs), fighting out of Oxnard, CA, annihilated 300+lb Kevin Burnett (13-5-1, 8 KOs), dropping the huge fighter out of Atlanta, Georgia down three times before his corner stopped the fight at 1:19 of the opening stanza."

I was impresssed with Ab. when I saw him last year, but then he didn't fight for almost a year. Looks like he trimmed down almost 20 pounds since then, though.

Ab. is trimmer and faster now, and as hard as he hits he is another one to watch.

Usually crowds are disinterested in these preliminary fights but Abdusalimovs display of punching power got the crowd buzzing. They booed when the fight was stopped which is insane, these crowds that attend fights must want to watch a guy get completely destroyed.Nine first round ko's in ten fights he may already be one of the hardest punchers in the world and being based in the US he will destroy alot of affletes, hopefully he continues to improve.

He's got some resume - 12-0 12 KO's - and this 3rd round KO was his longest fight to date. He's won 10 in round one and one in round 2 - and they've already got him scheduled to fight a TBA in Las Vegas on Dec. 20th. Also he has trimmed down to 228 from the 260 that he used to weigh.

I wonder why he's lost so much weight,he was still fast in the 250-260 range. 240 would be an ideal weight for him,but nonetheless he's become an alpha man in the ring and good to see him active.

IMO, Now their pushing Magomed too fast. They've already got Him up to 8 rounder and he's not been past three! And their talking about Tyson Fury in march.

He's already over 30 though, and while boxer-years aren't quite as bad as dog-years they're a lot worse than regular human years, but he should have an intermediate fight or two before they stick him in with the real big boys, tho Power, who he just KO'd, took Fury the distance. I'll pick Ab over Fury, especially after another fight or two. I like this guy, ever since I first saw him.

Heavyweight and knockout artist Magomed ‘Mago’ Abdusalamov (12-0, 12 KOs) of Russia, but now residing in Oxnard, California, and under the tutelage of former junior welterweight champion Pablo Sarmiento at Sarmiento’s Boxing Gym, will return to action this Friday February 3rd at the Texas Station Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada in an 8-round televised fight on ESPN2’s ‘Friday Night Fights’ against Pedro Rodriguez (8-0, 6 KOs) of Cuba.
In his last outing, the southpaw Abdusalamov stopped Rich ‘Super’ Power (15-2, 11 KOs) in the third round this past November at Texas Station Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada.

The despicable Teddy will be negative about Magomed on Friday.

He'll probably go on about his opponent having fewer fights, even though the Cuban had a more extensive amateur career than Abdusalamov.

If Magomed scores another spectacular KO, Teddy will put some kind of negative spin on it.

If Magomed had dark skin, big lips, a flat nose, a protruding jaw, and a low IQ, while having the same record of 12-0 with 12 KOs, you can bet those who run ESPN would be eager to show his fight.

They've shown Deontay Wilder and other up-and-coming negro HWs against far worse opponents than Pedro Rodriguez.

Looking at that article again, the Mag fight should be on the undercard.

Glad he won but not sure he is big enough at 227. Not sure why he has lost so much weight when he looks like he could carry 245 or so comfortably on his frame.
