Whitest College Teams-2009

Of the 120 FBS teams in 2009, the following teams start at least 11 whites out of 22 full time positions. The
"close but no cigar" list shows teams that start 10 whites out of 22. I did not include polynesians or
hispanics unless I view them as white for our purposes. These numbers might fluctuate when the season starts. Thanks to Jack Lambert, Leonardfan, whiteCB, ToughJ.Riggins, and celticdb15 for their help!

I have been using collegefootballnews.com as a major source for 5 seasons and it has proven to be reliable. Not perfect but reliable. It doesn't have pics, just names on the 2 deep charts. Thats where the research begins. We have to take into account the fact that teams will sort out their depth chart to some extent during the practices leading up to their first games. There is no way to get it 100% right every time when you are previewing a team this long before the season.

I have used preseason magazines in the past but am not doing so this year. I also use the team websites for depth chart info and rosters. Some have them before the season, some don't list it until the season starts. I use team websites and different image searches for pictures to verify who is white. Some websites have more complete online rosters than others this time of year. Its not nearly as difficult to do this research as it was 5 seasons ago, when quite a few FBS websites did not have links to player pics. Some that did have links weren't complete.

Just send me a PM to let me know which teams you'd like to do, that way we don't waste time doing the same teams.

Also, I've said this in another thread, that most teams now seem to be starting at least one white LB. I hope this is a trend that continues as we preview the rest of the teams.

Ok here is an analysis of the O-Lines of the teams we have previewed. As you can see, the vast majority of all teams start a majority white O-Line. There are as many teams that start 5 whites on the O-Line so far, then the number of teams that start less than three. Out of 120 team previews, 1 team has an all-black line, 6 teams have 1 white starter on the O-Line, 13 teams have two white starters, 41 teams have three white starters, 34 teams have 4, and 23 teams with an all-white line.

Here is the analysis of the teams that start white WRs. Out of 120 previews, 64 teams start no white wide recievers. 48 teams start 1 white reciever, 5 teams start 2 white WRs, and 1 team starts 3. So at least one white wide reciever starts on about 40-45% of the teams so far. So right now, we have 56 white recievers starting. Hopefully this number rises as we finish the other 11 teams remaining.

We are halfway to 120, the number of FBS teams this year.

I looked up last years whitest college teams thread. There were 36 teams that started 10 or more whites last year. I noticed we are over halfway there with almost half of the teams left to go! Hopefully, we can see an increase in 36.

Right now, we have 26 teams, so we need 10 more to at least match last years.

Yep Jack, I was thinking the same thing. If we do end up with the same number of half white or more teams as last year, then I think we can say there has been a small shift back toward white players, or at least that the whites who have been recruited are starting more often than they were. Interesting stuff!

Thanks for all the great research, gentlemen. I don't even watch televised sports anymore, and since the whole "converter box" thing that I chose not to be part of, I don't watch televised anything anymore. You guys seriously provide me with at least nine tenths of all my sports news. The remaining tenth I get from the radio, newspapers, or conversation, all of which I temper with a grain of salt based on the real facts I get here, and nowhere else.

Here's a question: out of the college teams that field a mostly white squad (or, at least teams that field a balanced enough squad with a respectable number of whites -- say, eight or nine or so), is there any of them that are a legitimate threat to become national champion?

The problem Giovanni- is that the best white QBs and offensive lineman mostly still go to the "powerhouse" "caste teams". Whites are still sometimes allowed to play those positions at even the most die hard caste schools and these schools get more hype and coverage. This may be changing a little with Stanford possibly becoming a powerhouse (QB Andrew Luck looks good). Also Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas have been good- starting white WRs or RBs- and have been around half white or more.

And there are new white RBs flooding in. At RB Rex Burkhead could make 2nd team this year behind Helu at Nebraska if Pelini is fair (even 1st team if Helu screws up). Brandon Wegher- in a fair world- could very well move up to starter for Iowa, but I'm expecting 2nd or 3rd team. John Goebel had the 2nd most carries for Cincinnati last year and they made a BCS bowl. Hester led LSU to a championship the previous year. Things are indeed looking up a bit at RB and of course WR too.

Giovani, although its way too early to start making predictions, just based on the preseason top 25 lists that I've seen, I'd say Texas, Ohio State, and Penn State all have something of a legitimate chance to be national champs. Penn State is the blackest of those three and they should start 8 whites.

Having said that, I'm glad that you view this info as valuable. I get a lot of news here as well. It would probably be a good thing if I didn't watch TV at all either. Its too mind numbing and trash filled to do anyone much good.

UGA actually is slated to start 5 Whites on offense (6 counting PK Blair Walsh) & it would have been 6 if Kris Durham wasn't injured.Unfortunately, they're coal black on (starting) defense.

Ok, we just need 8 out of 50 teams left to match last years number of teams that start 10 or more whites.

I think the number of teams could go up into the 40s yet this year if everything works out right.

Also, based on my analysis of teams start white LBs it appears that about 2/3 or more of the FBS teams should start white LBs this year from what I have so far. So teams must want LBs that actually know how to tackle.

LB seems to be trending more white this year.

Also, I noticed that most teams,(even Alabama) have trended this year more white offensive lines. A lot of teams we have previewed so far start 3 or more white O-Linemen this year. I don't know if this will be a trend, but I sure hope it will be. Maybe teams have wised up and started playing athletic linemen instead of overrated, unathletic sumos. I'll do an analysis of the O-Lines too, similar to what I have done with the linebackers.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this thread and the guys that do the research is one of the most valuable things this site does and can do. It is real world information that is accesble to any kid (and their relatives) looking for a school to go to. No matter what your viewpoint on the caste system in sports this information is helpful. I have even seen it quoted in other places on the web. So thanks again fellows, and especially the Col. who pioneered the idea and continues to champion it.

BTW, how about those Michigan teams!! Central, Eastern, and Western, also Michigan State ?!?!? if only Michigan wouldn't have ditched McGuffie!

Thanks jaxvid! I appreciate everyone who has helped me collect this info over the last few years! Like jaxvid said, it is useful information and I'd like to think we are helping some white athletes make the right choices for their future. I'm all about gathering and applying knowledge to situations to improve them, and this is the most fun I have doing such work. Practical use of information such as this could do wonders if distributed to a large enough audience. Of course we have to combat drunk white fandom in our own circles at the same time. Having facts at our disposal and being willing to share them with others can go a long way toward ending ignorance and changing opinions on issues such as anti-white discrimination in sports. I'm proud to be a part of this effort!
