Wenger backs Almunia to play for England. He says it's up to Almunia if he wants to choose to become English. What a joke. Here is a guy who came to England in his mid 20's to play football and the only reason he wants to play for England is because he can't beat out a couple of top keepers in Spain. If Spain,Portugal,Germany, Croatia, and Italy have no self respect, that doesn't mean England has to follow. If this happens it's only going to get worse. They might as well just disband the national teams at this point. Since it is becoming more and mor meaningless. Club football has been destroyed and now International football is.

It seems Wenger is also going after another black "French" player for Arsenal.

If Wenger had his way, the entire England tream would be made up of French-speaking Africans.

Heck, then he might pick them for Arsenal.

He definitely tried, but he also had to get good, consistent results, so he was forced to sign the occasional White player as well. Edited by: Karl Baxter

Wenger has not played a white English player in the first team since 2004 when Ray Parlour left. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. I make that five years without a native of England in the capital cities biggest team. (Aaron Ramsey who has played a couple of games this year is Welsh)British football fans are so desperate for success at any cost that they have lost sight of why they support a team. Most don't seem to care about the makeup of their teams as long as the shirt has the right badge on it. Wenger like many French people I have come across has in my opinion a sneering dislike of the English, and I believe he enjoyed building his team of imposters, having success, and laughing at the Arsenal fans cheering them on.

At least Arsenal was whipped today. Man Utd has 2 white English players start, although white English should be redundant.1 Scot and 1 mixed.
The only reason Park is on Man untd is to please the South Koreans. There are 500,000 people with Man unted credit cards in South Korea. He's a decent player, but I don't think he's great.

Luke Wilshere is getting a little playing time. He is only 16, maybe 17 now. These same people who cheer for foreign players complain, rightfully so, about the Polsih people taking jobs, but don't care if their own country man are pushed to a lower league or another country.
I see that the captain of the dutch under 17 side is of Turkish descent. It's also a disgrace that a Turkish player is playing for Turkey, but was born in Germany. These people say they are 100% German or Italian when it's convenient, but they will revert to be Turkish or AFrican when they can't make the German team.

The interesting thing about Wenger is that Wenger isn't even a French name. It's German. He was born in Strasbourg, which used to be a German-speaking area, and grew up in the very un-French sounding village of Duttlenheim. I suspect that deep down Wenger is quite confused about his own national identity.

I read a quote from Wenger once where he said what difference does it make where a player came from. He doesn't really have a sense of belonging which I thought most Europeans did.Like the Italians really identify as Italians, the Germans identify as Germans. But now I see there are some Polish players on the German team. In 50 years Europe is going to be a mish mash of nationalities and races like the US.It's a shame.
