He's made some really terrific moves. Fast, quick and agile, very fun to watch. It's funny though, after he made a great catch and run, soon after culpepper through a nice ball to chris chambers that ricocheted right off his hands...

Welker has caught a couple of bullets, in traffic, that were great catches but got no mention by Al-Madden. I wish they'd pan the cameras after Welker down the field once in awhile. It seemed like Culpepper looked his way a couple of times, but then threw the ball elsewhere. I'd like to know if Welker is covered or if Daunte just wants to throw it elsewhere.

As you mentioned White Shogun, the lack of praise for Welker is really what bothers me. If a black had made those moves and catches, he'd have been lauded with such adjectives like 'speedy' and 'agile'. Instead Welker gets none of this praise...

Actually, Marv (Mr. Panties) Albert is giving him quite a bit of praise, as is his lead analyst on Westwood One, Boomer Esiason, and sideline man John Dockery. I sometimes listen to the radio while watching the TV because the announcers are usually less anti-white. Welker has 67 yards receiving on 4 catches, 2 punt returns for 58 yards, and 79 yards on 3 KO returns. In fact, Boomer just praised Welker and said he would be the man to get in fantasy football this week, while blaming one of the black Dolphin recievers for his team not being tied at the half. Keep it up Wes!

Unless he scores on one of those kick returns, those returns are going to net you *zero* points. The yardage for kick returns is meaningless in most fantasy football leagues. His receiving stats so far aren't that great - they're not throwing him the ball nearly enough. Edited by: White Shogun

Luckily thats not the case in my league. Hes given me over triple the points he was projected to yield with his return yards and catches

Cool! Those kind of leagues it definitely helps to pay attention to guys who do double duty, like Welker. Good job on your pick and for starting him, too.

I second what Shogun said about your picking Wes, Sark. I played all the whites I could last year and did pretty well considering it was my first time ever playing fantasy football. I guess some people think its stupid to play it like that, but I was looking to have fun, and I did.

Welker led the team in receiving yards despite being completely ignored by Culpepper in the 2nd half. Culpepper blew the game with back to back 4th quarter picks. He completed less than 50% of his passes (18/37)and is on pace to throw 32 picks this year. Now the media has to play up Steve McNair as the other great offseason quarterback upgrade.

Culpepper isnt a winner. Yes he may put up good numbers but he isn't even a Moon or a Fouts(winners during the regular season). This could be his last starting job. Unless the Cardinals come a calling...

You must mean because of ol' Denny Green huh? LOL

I'm not sure even he would pass on Warner and Leinart to start Fumblepepper, but with the caste system - who knows?

What's sad is that for the rare Dwight/Welker type that makes it,too many others like Kasper,Abney,Sheldon, etc. get cast aside with little or no opportunity. It's like they don't want you to know that white guys can be explosive returners and receivers. They rarely have a problem with a slow big white guy. It's the fast, twitch fiber ones with hip flexibility that scares them.

They don't want people to know that the stereotypes are a lie. What a game by Welker but as you guys said,he was totally ignorred in the 2nd half.

Excellent post. Someone else mentioned that recently too. The white receivers with monster talent are often given no chance at all while the ones that do while talented arent the potential superstars and caste smashers. There are exceptions like M. Jones who was a first round pick and Bennett certainly could be but events keep conspiring against him even Curtis is not being allowed to show his ability as a starter because he has to wait until Isaac Bruce needs a wheelchair to get up and down the field. We all know if the races were reversed the young black player with star potential written all over him wouldnt have to wait until his 30s to replace an accomplished but slowed down and aging white receiver. Natural selection is waylaid by elaborate rituals of "respect" that apply only to Negro players when the respectful thing to do for themn and the team would be to ease them out of roles they're no longer capable of playig.

I listened to a bit of the game on radio and thought Boomer Esiason's comments were typically ridiculous, mainstream Caste System tripe. At one point, he said of Welker's first half performance, "Shades of Wayne Chrebet." Yeah, he actually said that. Shockingly enough, the usually absurd Marv Albert countered (in a kind, unoffensive way) by saying Welker had garnered over 200 total yards so far on only 9 touches.

My question here would be; how well does Welker have to play to beat out a thoroughly mediocre journeyman like Marty Booker?

Yes, Welker was hot, why did Culpepper stop going to him?

Culpepper has great physical tools, but he's always been a choker.

Cough, cough!

Its too much for anyone to see a white player have such a dominant game, and if they can, they do what they can to stop it from happening.

he didn't.
first interception came from a underthrown pass to Welker, he had another pass or two (4th quarter) when Welker was the intended target...
Culpepper realized that if they're looking for a quick score he must try and get a ball to WW...

Great, a couple of underthrown passes through the course of the entire 2nd half, yeah that's utilization.

you clearly stated that Culpepper STOPPED going to him. that's not true. he tried (and clearly failed) to get him a ball and even these two intended passes in second half were more than i expected from Saban and Culpepper.
i never said that it was my definition of "utilization".
but i did say that he got more looks from his qb and hopefully he will get even more (coupled with good passes) in the upcoming weeks.

Chambers can be a pouting prima donna at times, while Marty Booker isyour basicjourneyman type of receiver. If Culpepper and the Dolphins continue to struggle on offense, I don't think Culpepper will have any qualms about continuing to throw to Welker if he's open. That assumes that Welker will be on the field to throw to. He received more time than usual last night because Booker was injured early on before returning in the second half.

I thought it was pretty cool to see Wes Welker put moves on the black players, and seeing them slip and fall. I thought white guys hips were not loose enough for that
